Just called with my dog being sick, and was told if I came in they could only take vitals! Not sure if a vet could see my dog! I was shocked! But hey they can take vitals! Why even say we may only be able to take vitals! What good would that do.

I do NOT recommend!! My cat had a wound on his foot and i took him here to get it taken care of. They bandaged it and told me to leave it on for a week, i questioned them but thats what they said i needed to do. The bandage healed into my poor cats skin and when i took him to a different vet they said they treated it COMPLETELY WRONG AND MADE IT WAY WORSE!!! So now im having to take him to the vet EVERY DAY to have him sedated and get his bandages changed. There is now a hole straight through his paw from infection that wasn't there before. From my experience they're highly incompetent and i believe they should be compensating me for all the new vet visits i need because of them. I hope no one else has an experience like this because its absolutely ridiculous!!! There's so many people who want to be a vet so im sure they could find someone who actually knows what they're doing and i hope they do so.

I cannot say how thankful I am for the care my kitten, Thor, and I recieved on Saturday, November 14th. After calling everywhere in Madison and being told it'd be a 6-8 wait I was referred to this location. I had had a very rough couple of days but this team renewed my spirit. The way they were talking to the animals filled my heart with so much joy. They were kind, loving, empathetic and professional. I know everyone is short staffed, overworked, tired and just over it all but this team didn't show it in the least. I spent 9 1/2 hours in the ER with my human child the night before and recieved 100% more compassion and kindness from VCA than I did from a single nurse or Dr at the human ER. I hope you all keep it up because what you are doing is absolutely amazing!!

Our Chiweenie got into my son's Halloween candy while we were away. I called VCA at 9pm, they told me to bring her in and they would be ready for her. We arrived about 9:30pm, they took her right back and got her started. They did an xray and reported back pretty quickly, considering the high volume that night. She received an injection to induce vomiting, then under the skin in care and another injection to stop her throwing up before taking her home. She did great! She loved Dr. Emily! And the price was about what was expected for an emergency visit during those hours plus an xray.. We were back home in Delavan at about 2am. And they communicated with our vet, who called the next day to check on her.

Medical staff was great but they don't tell you that they own the crematorium they require you to use! Very unethical behavior! I wanted to get a hair clipping but was told I have to pay their crematorium for that "service" even though they won't be in possession of my dog for five more days! Can they add to my grief of losing a pet any more? Unbelievable!!!

We picked up ashes from here last night, got home and found out we were give the wrong animals ashes…. I’m not sure how to feel but it was devastating to know that they can mix something so important up. It gut wrenching. And have to many ashes is not an excuse. Sorry .

My ferret got sick last week and had been hospitalized in my hometown for 3 days. He had been (mis)diagnosed with a gastric infection and sent home after his fever broke. He remained listless and lethargic all throughout the weekend in which the vet was closed. I was at work when my cousin called me in tears worried about our sweet boy because he was getting worse instead of better. I called my coworker and asked her to cover for me while I went to take him wherever I could find. Finally after looking farther from home I found that this clinic was open. We called and they asked us to bring him in asap. We live in Rockford, IL and hopped in the car at 9 at night to come in. I arrive and the receptionist was incredibly sweet and they took him back immediately. After assessing him and checking his blood sugar and other tests they diagnosed him with insulinoma. He was too far gone and we had to make the unfortunate decision to put him down. My 6 year old son is devastated but the staff were so empathetic and did everything at our pace. I cannot thank you guys enough. Thank you. I will be scheduling soon for my other ferret to be seen. Worst outcome imaginable but you guys made the pain as easy as possible. Thank you for giving him peace in his last moments. RIP Godzilla.

I brought my 16 year old furbaby Molly, and she had congestive heart failure. I was scared out of my mind and they took the best care of her! I trust them completely. they started her on meds that really made her feel better! Drs Nico and Kat were fantastic and their whole staff the greatest! without them my Molly would not have survived and slowly getting better. THANK YOU for everything you do!!!!

I took my dog twice for emergency visits, both times they were extremely attentive and kind to both me and my dog. My dog was not friendly and gave them a hard time but they were so so sweet to him, sadly we had to put him down. During this very difficult time for me and my son they made us feel so comfortable, they gave us enough time before and after to stay with him. I can’t thank them enough for everything they did for our tough little Tuffy. They are wonderful there’s not enough good things i can say about them, I 100% recommend them

On Wednesday night we brought our German Shepherd, Harley to VCA for persistent vomitting and not eating. The staff was absolutely amazing and took care of our girl right away. We did not have to wait long and they were great with communicating. Tech (Sarah) was awesome and made sure to be super thorough about the discharge instructions. I was really impressed by that! Thank you VCA staff for being so awesome we will definitely be going back if anything ever happens to any of our other animals.

They gave excellent care and service to our 2 week old kitten. They made us feel like family! The cost was also much less than i expected. I will recommend them to anyone who has an emergency with their fur baby. Thank you VCA!

This place has truly been a blessing. I was very disappointed when you were closed as this is a very beneficial place for our community. I hope now that you are open again you will continue to stay open. The people and staff have always been wonderful when we have had to go here.

Took our cat here in 2016 and just now have an account to post reviews. Chris Reagh took care of our cat with the utmost care, compassion and competence. Have seen others there as well ..........all FANTASTIC. The cost was more than fair every time we've been there. Top top notch place.

Dr Sibley saw our dog when she was in a health crisis, and supported us in making the difficult decision to euthanize. The entire staff at VCA was incredible during a horrific time. We are so appreciative of Dr Sibley and the veterinary assistants on staff supported both us and our sweet pup in her final hours. The staff was compassionate, patient, and accommodating of every need we had. Thank you all for the work that you do.

FYI - The Janesville location IS CLOSED. Has been since March. Do NOT pay attention to their hours, which still says their location is still open. They ARE NOT! I took this screenshot of Google on Sunday when I tried taking our seizing dog to them... Don't waste your precious time taking your pet to their location in Janesville.

Took our pup to VCA after he received a wound. It was quicker to get treatment at VCA than trying to see a Vet. We contacted VCA b/4 coming. VCA Staff were very nice and attentive. Treated our pup and then followed up with a phone call days later. Prices including antibiotics I felt was very reasonable.

My cat Dottie declined very quickly on a Saturday evening. I brought her into the emergency vet knowing that I would have to get her put to sleep. The staff was so caring and patient. Met us at the door with a soft warm blanket. They let us take as much time as we needed saying our goodbyes. The vet who helped us was very kind and gentle with Dottie. At a time that was very hard, the staff made the experience as comforting as possible and I am very thankful for that. They also sent me a really sweet sympathy card with kind words from all of the staff members. I would highly recommend VCA! They are wonderful!

No one wants to have to come anywhere like this, but when they do, they want the best care they can have. I came in at the end of a Doctor's shift, and was treated as such. My dog was in a great deal of pain, had Xrays done, and we were told they looked okay and that going home to monitor him would be just fine. Then the doctor came back in and said he talked to another doctor, and all of a sudden they were worried. The doctor had no confidence in any of his diagnosis', so we took my dog and went home, dog still in pain. We wasted about 5 hours here, just for his exam and for them to read Xrays. I read that other people have had to wait long waits before we went, and I should have listened. The ONLY reason they are not receiving a 1 star review from me, is the day doctor that then came in after the other doctor's shift, called to apologize and helped us set up surgery with the VCA in Madison. But really - if you have the ability, I 100% would suggest to go to Madison's VCA locations and NOT Janesville. The dog indeed was NOT okay, and had to have surgery to removed a blocked intestine. He had swallowed some string. I could have lost my dog if I wasn't his best advocate.

We lost our 12 year old lab last Saturday due to a tumor but the staff at this hospital was the best I have ever been around. They did the very best they could. I would like to thank the vet (I think DR. Emma) for treating him with the respect and dignity he deserved. Thanks, Bill and Delaine

We needed up here on Sunday with our 1.5 year old lab who took a nasty tumble. From the first call to the bill we were more than impressed. The compassion and caring staff blew my husband and myself out of the water. They treated Ali like she was their own! Everyone wanted to get comfortable and help calm her and me down before they jumped in and took her and assessed her. They updated us while she was in surgery and gave great after care and followed up with a phone call making sure she was ok! If (I hope never) we have to have emergency vet we will be back!

The care this facility provided to my dog the night she was hit by a car was great. Staff were gentle and compassionate for my loss. THOUGH, after the passing of my pet the staff could care less. They use a cremation service though Memorial Pet Services out of Madison (Great)! My dog passed away 6/24. After paying the memorial service they said I would be able to pick my dogs remains up July 2nd and that this vets office would call me to verify. After the 3rd I had not heard anything, so I called the number (a call center) and was told she was not there yet, and again that the facility would contact me. After another WEEK I called again and got the same response. Someone will call me. I get fed up, called the memorial service and they confirmed that my pet was in fact returned to the vets office on the 2nd. I don’t know about you, but I’d prefer to bring my pets remains home during my loss than have her sitting on an office shelf for weeks. The staff were dumbfounded when I walked in to get her, and apologized up and down about the miscommunication. I was going to leave it at that, until the memorial service called me the other day that my $150 stone and paw print would be ready to pick up today 7/23. Of course I didn’t receive a call from the vets office today, so I called their call center again, and the response I got was that this vets office was closed for the rest of the week and there was nothing I could do. Just unbelievably poor service during this hard time for my family.

Very caring and reasonable. We had to make the decision to put our cat down and the staff and the Dr helped tremendously in making that decision.

I can’t say enough kind words about the staff that were working the evening of 12/17/19. The compassion of the employees was absolutely remarkable. It was a very difficult night for my husband and I as we learned we were going to have to put down our dog. The staff not only comforted us, our other dog, but also made sure that our dog being put down was as comfortable as possible. I also appreciated that they informed us of the costs before doing anything, not that costs mattered to us at that point - but it was nice to understand each step of the way. The sympathy card we received was incredibly personal and such a nice gesture that means the world to us. Thank you.

I waited almost 2 hours in an exam room waiting to see the vet. I was told I was next twice. My husband who waited in the car said dogs were coming and going while I waited. I finally gave them a time limit and the vet did come. Very friendly and knowledgeable vet.
