I was very surprised at how big and CLEAN the shelter was. Everyone was friendly and helpful! I adopted Mavis who now responds to his new name, Morris. Photos below of my happy boy!!

Bonnie is wonderful and walks you through all the steps of adopting your pet and what to expect. They give you support and check up on you after you have taken your pet home. They want you to love the pet that you take home for life. Of course they want every pet to find a forever home, but they won't pressure you into selecting one. Just note that they usually don't allow one household to take home more than one puppy as they don't want to overwhelm anyone. It's sad, though, that siblings can't be together. They give you a book of coupons when you join and you can become a member for other discounts and savings. Always check back in if you don't find the pet that you're looking for. Good luck!

This animal shelter is amazing! They receive cats and dogs from around the country and the Chicago area. All pets are given great medical care (by their own clinic), get plenty of enrichment and training from staff and volunteers, and are overall very well cared for. This particular location is a little quirky in that they are inside the Petco store and as a result the cats and dogs are driven over from the main Chicago hub, as a result they have fewer animals than the other location. The plus side is that it is a bit more intimate, you get more time and feedback on what each animal is like. Furthermore, they have a great new evaluation system to check your comPETibility with the pets they have available. As a pet owner, I also really appreciate how thorough the adoption application is, it shows they out a lot of thought into ensuring animals are heading into good homes.

Wonderful place to adopt a new dog or cat. Small sized facility compared to other shelters, but they often get new animals, so keep checking back!

Great local place to adopt a furry friend. Check back often if you don't see a pet you want the first time you go!

PAWS is the example of what you don't want in a shelter/pet adoption agency. Hey at least when all your reviews get too bad you can just create a new page!
