I took my poodle to be groomed, it was his first since we paired up. Silver Dog mentioned that they couldn’t do his face because he was aggressive and wanted to bite the gentleman there. He’s a working dog who is very gentle but I took his comments with a grain of salt even with his face a bit hacked up. One of my friends recommended Petco in Lake Zurich. Petco did an amazing job, the groomer there mentioned that my dog was the sweetest and most patient dog she’s seen. I thought so, they wouldn’t have passed him to be a working dog if he was aggressive. My dog is very intuitive so I was thinking maybe he sensed the groomer there is not a dog person??? Just saying based on other reviews and my experience with Silver Dog that the gentleman there might not be as comfortable with dogs.

Owner was very nice and professional. Seriously a hidden gem, we need more places like this. Best part was coming to pick up my pup, only to find him sitting in the office with the owner. 5 stars and highly recommended!!!

I dont know about the other staff but the guy that was there made me help him cut my dogs nails and help him dry my dog off after his bath. He was complaining to me how my dog went to go for a bite but i dont blame my dog cause he poured the soap on is face then was spraying water at his face most of the time. I was soaked after i left. My dog did look nice afterwards but the guy was super unprofessional, i came for them to groom them but i ended up doing half the work for him. Again they did a good job on my dog but the guy made me go help him to cut his nails and bathe him. So i recommend you to not go if you only see the guy there(looks jamaican). Definitely never going again. I highly recommend dog gone clean in round lake.

Hi, I recently brought my dog in to be groomed. I know she had some mats and I knew her hair would be short. When I picked her up she had a bad razor burn or scrape down her chest and belly. I understand this can happen but the groomer never even said anything about it?! Ouch! She is old and in pain!! That was not great! I won't ever bring her back !

Worst groomer ever! Shaved my golden retriever she looked pathetic you don’t shave a golden omg terrible. She got sick shortly after and that’s how we remember her shaved! Learn your craft you are terrible!! Will say again YOU DONT SHAVE GOLDENS YOU TRIM THEIR HAIR

The groomers are nice and accommodating. They do a great job!!

Strange. The groomer said he would not groom my puppy unless I went home and brushed out her tangles first. He demonstrated how he wanted it done with a cat brush. He said if I didn't brush out her tangles first than he would just shave her. So I packed her up and found a diiferent groomer! Look at how adorable Bella looks after Melissa's Passion for Paws groomed her! No shaving required. Melissa's place isn't as fancy as Silver Dog Grooming but she does a wonderful job and never made me feel embarrassed about Bella's tangles.

Love bringing my dog here! It’s affordable and does a well job getting my dogs nail done on time and well made. Also my dog is very aggressive towards people but it turns out she is quite fond with them.
