We love Rex’s! We have an old dog with bad hips and Rex’s is very catering to her. She gets all the play and rest she needs. Staff is always friendly!

Chloe has been going to Rex’s for many years. She loves going there and always comes home happy and tired!! She goes to the cage free boarding and loves it!! They send us pictures of her while we are gone. Everyone takes such good care of her!! We feel like family!! Cathy is so loving and caring. Her employees take such good care of the dogs and treat them with love. Our family and Chloe could not be happier!! We love Rex’s!!

Ella has been having fun at Rex's Place since she was just a few months old. Ten years later, she still gets excited for her weekly play date at Rex's. The staff makes her feel so welcome, whether it be for daycare or for boarding. Can't say enough great things about our experiences with Rex's place! Thanks, Kathy and Staff!

Boomer, our three year old Lab, boarded at Rex's Place for eight days. I love that we got pictures and video updates of Boomer. He loves hanging out with his fellow pooch pals and loves the humans who love him when he is at Rex's Place. Great staff, we'll run, and safe for your fur babies!

Love having our dog a Rex's place! I don't know what she does in there all day, but she is happy to go there and when I pick her up she is very calm. Typically after a day of doggy dare care at other places she is a little wound up. All seems good.

I booked daycare and boarding for my dogs. The day before we were to take the dogs in to be boarded (we were going on vacation), the owner called and said they could not accommodate them. She never gave us our full refund. So unprofessional!

My shy dog loves Rex's Place! She happily goes in when she is dropped off and is exhausted when she leaves (which is ideal!). When she attends their Daycare Plus days, we get a text with a picture and/or video showing the fun activity she got to do. They have an easy to use portal to book dates and are very responsive to any questions.

Riley loves going to Rex’s place while I’m at work and I like knowing she’s entertained rather than home alone. Riley used to go to regular daycare and now goes to Daycare Plus. It’s a smaller group of dogs that are provided more structured activities rather than hours of free play. The staff is caring and everyone is happy when Riley arrives. Kathy, the owner, is also fantastic. She’s very accommodating, responsive, and helpful.

We love Rex’s place! George out 2.5 year old yellow lab loves coming there and gets very excited waiting to be greeted at the car door for the staff to pick him up. We have been sending him there for the last four months and have nothing but a great experience. He comes home tired and worn out from a fun day. The staff responds quickly and efficiently if i ever have a question about booking and more. We continue to send George and are grateful for the care Rex’s place provides us!

Indiana (my dog) loves coming here. The issue is he's very popular and comes home coated in dog spit. Which, it is what it is. He's also very very tired when he gets home.

We boarded our dog, Mikko, at Rex's place for a month and they made sure they take a good care of my little baby. I was concerned about his separation anxiety and communication with the staff while we were gone. Kathy made sure that all my concerns are addressed before I leave for my trip and her team sent us updates regularly. If you want your dog to have fun and make lots of friends, send them to Rex's place!

I boarded my healthy 14 month old Newfoundland and my husky at Rex's Place in Evanston over the weekend. When I picked my dogs up they were both injured. My newfie was and continues to limp, barely able to walk, and was also returned to me covered in urine. Her white spots on her fur were discolored and smell of urine. My husky has a big cut under his eye that wasn't there when I dropped him off and he is barely able to open his eye. I have attempted to contact the owner repeatedly and she continues to ignore me. My dogs will see our vet today regarding these injuries. I wanted you all to be informed of the injuries my dogs sustained after being boarded at Rex's Place so you can make an informed decision about using this facility. If I could add videos of her limping I would UPDATE: After 3 days, the owner finally returned my calls. She had no resolution to this very obvious issue, and refused to show me the footage of the kennels. Her only solution was "just don't join us anymore".

We love Rex’s Place! Our dog is so well cared for there, and he is so happy when we pick him up! We highly recommend for day care as well as boarding.

I must indicate that this is my opinion only and hopefully you have not experienced this while leaving your pet there for boarding or daycare. I boarded my bulldog there a few months ago and I had a terrible experience from them not being responsive and not following simple instructions. I had boarded my dog there a few times before and did not have any issues (the last time he was boarded, he caught kennel cough, but that can happen from being around other dogs playing). This particular instance was quite poor because they did not provide an update on his stay. When I called 2 days later to get a quick update, the person I spoke with stated they were overbooked and were having a slow response time. They did apologize for this, but it would have been nice to just get a quick update via email or text indicating they were that very busy, but he was fine and playing well with the other dogs. Another item that occurred was that I provided extra food (2 feedings-his stay was from Thursday through Sunday) just in case my flight was delayed and/or I could not get to him (the food was clearly labeled the day of the week and AM or PM feeding) and they fed him all of the extra food despite trying to get him at 330 pm. Also, I tried to find out when I could pick him up on Sunday (as I forgot when the pick up hours were in the afternoon and looked on their website, and in my email and I could not find it for whatever reason) and I texted and called the number listed outside their business several times with no response. I had to strike the door hard many times until someone came out to greet him (he was the only employee there feeding the dogs that afternoon). The employee was apologetic for what had taken place, but he indicated he would pass my information onto the owner to follow up and the owner/manager never followed up (and still has not at the time of this review). Furthermore, I called the next day to try to talk to the manager and owner about what happened and I spoke to the manager via text and phone briefly. My dog suffered a mild to moderate scratch on his face and was not told about it until sending the manager the photos of it. She apologized, but I subsequently asked to speak to the owner and she was not in the office that day and took my information down to follow up with the owner to call me back. The owner never called me back. I called again a few days later hoping to speak to the owner, and spoke to another employee (not the manager) who indicated the owner was out of the office and was going to call me back, but this never happened. I will never board my dog here again despite the rating they received from other people in the Evanston community because of the experience I had. When you are trusting someone to take care of your pet while you are gone, you just ask people to communicate. This did not happen and it is very disappointing and poor that the owner never reached out after trying to discuss my experience from my dog's stay. I hope whomever reads this understands that this was my experience and I hope this does not happen to your pet should you decide to bring him/her there in the future.

REX’S PLACE is great for dogs! Our dog, an almost 6 yr old golden doodle who continues to have loads of energy, perks up every time I tell him “we’re going to Rex’s!” He’s always eager to go see his buddies. And he always comes home tired. Which is good! A tired dog, is a good dog! We’ve been taking him to Rex’s for over 4 years. Our dog continues to enjoy his time there. It’s been good for us all.

My dog and I are huge fans of Rex's. Our dog Montana first starting going there last year when we enrolled her in puppy class. It was a great intro for her to learn social skills, and basics like sit. We have a German Shorthaired Pointer and she is very active so we take her there every day to burn off her energy while we go to work. Rex's offers two different day care options and the pups get to play outside when it's nice out. We love following along on instagram watching our pup play throughout the day. The team there is very friendly and I can tell they really love their furry guests. During COVID they took extra steps to make sure their team stayed safe with contactless drop off and pick up which is also really convenient for us. The best part about Rex's is that they offer cage-free boarding for the dogs that they know from daycare. This is so important to me as my pup is very active and not used to being in a crate. We travel a lot and I know that when she is at Rex's she is very well taken care of.

Our dog has a great time and we feel is safe at Rex’s place. We do have a concern however that every time he comes home from day care he reeks of urine. We’d like to know what is happening.

Love Rex’s. Always reliable and Bruno comes home happy and worn out. Just saying the D word (“daycare”) puts him into the happiest frenzy. He flies around the yard and eagerly jumps into our car knowing he will see everyone at Rex’s. Can’t recommend enough.

My two boys, 3 years and 10 months have been to Rex’s now 2 times in the past week. They seem to love it. Come home so tired so they must be having a great time. You get a few pictures during their day and you can see on their Instagram more pictures from the week. Will be using this day camp many more times !

We left our pandemic dog at Rex’s place for our first vacation without him. We were nervous to leave him! But they were so kind and sent us pictures and videos each day - and he was having a blast! We will definitely take him to Rex’s again.

Our 1 year old dog Etta just finished Rex's Place Play and Train program. It was a wonderful experience! Etta's trainer, Hailey, is everything you want a dog trainer to be. Effective, loving, kind. Truly, a dog whisperer! Etta now knows to come when she's called, to not jump up on people, to stay until she's called, and so much more. Thank you, Hailey and Rex's Place, for working with Etta and for giving us the tools we need to continue your training going forward.

Rex’s place has a great team and my dog always come back home happy. I also love their flexibility when I have a last second issue and I need somebody trusted to take care of my dog
