Last week I brought Muckie to Fox Animal Hospital and their service rally exceeded my expectation! Dr. Hartzen was very patient to explain things to me and kept asking whether I have further questions. Their assistant was also super sweet and when they gave Muckie the two shots for Rabies and DAPP, she wasn't anxious at all. Overall, really amazing experience! I think I made the right decision to seek a clinic that offers in-person appointment! Dr. Hartzen also mentioned that grain free diet might not be the most natural dogfood and the kibble I normally bought from Costco is not the best food. I think his opinion is very insightful and I may add some more healthy food for Muckie ...

I'd highly recommend Dr. Lempka to anyone. The entire staff was helpful before, during, and after the first visit. We've also had 2 other dogs seen by Dr. Lempka and other doctors, and they were all great.

Excellent service, caring & expert vet care

This Vet is AMAZING! Dr Hartzen is truly incredible and extremely responsive to the needs of my puppy. He's been wonderful through regular wellness visits along with a surgery for my puppy. They've been amazingly responsive and have been able to get my puppy into see a Doctor right away when we've had an emergency. VERY pleased with this Vet and would definitely refer anyone looking for a Vet to this wonderful location.

I’ve been bringing my dog, Lily here since she was 8-9 weeks old (almost 9 months old now) They have been great to work with…they’ve taken great care of Lily, always communicate well with me and have fair pricing. I wasn’t allowed to go in to the building for a long time due to covid and I trusted them completely with my dog. Lily loves going to she her friends at Fox Animal Hospital!

Attentive and caring. Always treat us like we matter. I switched from a different vet to them in the Spring of 2021. Best decision. 1 cat and 2 puppies are well taken care of. I don’t feel like just another client. They take time to explain and even let you know other sources in the area they trust for various things - boarding, emergency care, etc. And yes in a time of COVID, they also have a safe practice. DidI mention for those of us who like keeping track of things online, they use a very way App to track records, park and upcoming appointments. I appreciate their kindness and the care with which they have given my fur babies. Thanks Fox.

Have been taking care of my pets for years. Highly recommend!

They constantly push the emergency vet on me 85 percent of the time. I am forced to see another vet because they never have time to fit my dog in. They are argumentative when I express these concerns and I don’t trust the quality anymore. A technician calls me to tell me that my dog is so ill that they don’t have the capability to treat or diagnose him and that is why emergency room is justified option on a week day for care he could receive there. This is not the case and it’s inappropriate to try and frighten me into rushing to the Er for expensive test that could be done at the vet. The vets at fox seem to be pretty good, but I can trust anything when it’s not consistent and I can’t see or speak to vets, unless by some chance there is an opening. they constantly push the ER regardless of the issue and say oh well we are too busy. If you express concern or irritation with this, they tell you well it’s probably life threatening anyway so go to ER. what is going on here….how would you know if you don’t see him ?? And what is the point of having a vet if we can’t see them?? I can’t deal with fox animal hospital anymore. I’ve been going here for years and now I just can’t take it anymore. I wish I could find a consistent and caring vet practitioner that has time to see my dog doesn’t use the ER as default for everything. It’s too much and it’s inconsiderate of our resources both time and money. Really what is the point of your office? Update: a tech from this office called me to strongly encourage an ER visit and a number of labs and test at the ER which is extremely expensive because she insisted my dog was very ill and fox could not help me because they don’t have an ultrasound machine. Mind you, she never saw him and did not fully understand his case. My dog is perfectly healthy and it was not an emergency room visit incident. I received consult elsewhere and they said that was not the case AT ALL. and the signs would be much different. Please STOP.pushing the ER on people and please stop giving false diagnoses over the phone through technicians and front desk receptionists.

For well over 15 years they have been our only veterinarian. All of the doctors that we have used have been excellent!

So pleased with our recent visit to Fox Animal Hospital for our new pet! Recently adopted a cat from Chicago Animal Control and were told to follow-up within 2 weeks to a vet. So happy I chose Fox Animal Hospital! Everyone was so nice during our visit, and the vet spent a lot of time going over everything from his old medical records to how to keep him active/healthy for a long life! Definitely be using them for all of our pet needs in the future!

All the Vets at Fox are kind and listen to me when I explain any illness symptoms my cats may be experiencing. They, as well as the staff are so gentle and extremely knowledgeable with my pets.

Dr. Lempke has been taking care of both of our cats, Lucy & Ethel. She is extremely patient. She gives us her time with honest answers. We rely on her & feel that we can trust her. You would find it near impossible for her not to have a calm & knowledgeable answer to all your questions. She is willing to repeat the same information until the owner understands & can make sense of it. If she is not in the office, you can leave her a message and she is prompt in her response. I feel that Dr. Lempka and Dr. Lyons and their staff have my dog's best interest front and center. They are responsive and helpful at all times. And they are so welcoming to my dog, and to me.

I moved to the Chicago area in 2001 and Fox Animal Hospital was recommended to me by a colleague for my former dog. I have continued to take my next dog there and remain very pleased with the service. My dog just went happily in for her most recent annual examiju. In addition to the normal procedures and vaccines, she also receives annual shots for Lyme Disease, to protect her during our annual trip to the beaches and forest areas of S.C. where ticks are a common threat.

I love all the doctors at Fox. They are always thorough and very kind!

They know what they are doing and they do it well and efficiently... I was also very touched by their card and donation to research in my dog's name after euthanized...

My dogs have been seeing Dr. Lyons for years. She is a compassionate wonderful vet, who has done an excellent job managing my large dog's allergies. She has also done a great job with my other two., one of who has passed in her old age. All three received Fr. Lyons care and all three have lived a good long lives, Dr. Hartzen has done a great job with their teeth, and Dr. Lempka has kindly handled an emergency here and there when Dr. Lyons was not there. All the staff are kind, compassionate and go that extra mile!

My puppy had a very thorough exam! The doctors and staff are so caring and knowledgeable.Dr Hartzen came out and explained everything. I really trust them with the health of my fur-babies. Highly recommend them!

The first visit went as smoothly as it could, given that covid prevented me from coming in with my dog and meeting the staff inside. The veterinarian came out to the parking lot to meet me, despite the frigid temperature, and he gave me a pager so that we could communicate while he examined my dog. He was very thorough and I left reassured that my dog was in good hands.

From knowledge to friendliness of all employees, it really feels like a partnership when bringing my pets here. Even though the Covid lockdown began just as a car drove through the front of their building, they were very communicative with all of their families. They never missed a beat and continue to safely care for pets throughout this difficult year. They feel like family. My 10-year-old said that Fox had the best veterinarian he had ever seen!

We have owned 3 labs over the past few decades and have served as foster parents for a few additional dogs. We have taken all of our pets to Fox because we have so much confidence in the vets. Our labs have had everything from ear infections to laryngeal paralysis and the doctors have been extremely knowledgeable and always caring. All three vets are great and while there are several animal hospitals closer to where we live, we always go back because we know our "fur babies" will get great care.

My family has been using Fox Animal for decades. Dr. Fox, Dr. Steve Hartzen, Dr. Lyons and the entire team are excellent diagnosticians! They are thorough and I @100% trust their work. Their soft and caring approach is unparalleled and well received by my pets. They are great vets!

I have been taking pets to Fox Animal Hospital since 2001. It was one of the best decisions I've ever made. I was sad when Dr Fox retired but the other vets are great too. Dr Hartzen has so much patience with my cat. You can tell that he and all of the staff love animals. They are patient, kind and very professional.. I'd be lost without them!

This is the best practice in town! They will give you and your pet all the attention and care that are deserved. Fox is very reasonably priced as well.

We love Fox Animal Hospital. We live in the Lakeview neighborhood of Chicago and have considered switching to a closer vet, but ultimately chose not to because they are so, so good with our pets and with us. We have seen Dr. Lyons, Dr. Hartzen and Dr. Carolan and they all always take the time to listen to our questions and concerns, are always patient and understanding - never condescending- and we feel that they truly care about our animals and our happiness and wellbeing. Their techs are also amazing, especially Donna. Their front desk staff is also wonderful. And their testing and additions services are always approached conservatively. We’ve never felt pressured to accept an upsell and they work hard to differentiate between what’s medical necessity, what’s good to know/do, and what’s completely optional. Cannot recommend Fox Animal Hospital highly enough.

This was our first visit at Fox Animal Hospital. Dr. Carolan saw our new puppy, she answered all our questions and she was very nice. Hopefully next time we can meet her in person.
