Love this animal hospital. Our dog Kiwi is a patient here and they take very good care of her. Dr. Iqbal is a great Vet. Highly recommend him for his compassion and genuine love for animals. I would not go to any other Vet.

In the last couple years, I've been bounced back and forth from vet to vet to specialist to specialist over and over again, dealing with ridiculous wait times (2+ weeks for appointments) and reiterating my cats' medical history and issues over and over again to different people each time. For a while, I thought it was what it was; having consistent, reliable veterinary care was a luxury that didn't exist... That is, until I brought my cats to Oak Elm. The team at Oak Elm is understanding, kind, knowledgeable, and COMPASSIONATE. Two of my cats have chronic conditions (one is FIV+ and has asthma, the other has some serious GI issues). I needed a team who was dependable, efficient, and understanding in order to provide the support my cats needed. The Oak Elm team have always made room for me and my cats DAY OF (if not, next day at most) and they have even stayed after closing time to care for my cats, too. At one point recently, I was bringing my cats in on a daily basis to get treatments for their symptoms because everyone was getting sick with no probable cause. Dr. Iqbal and Dr. Hassan were able to lower the prices of the treatments for me because I was coming in so often. And that meant the world to me. My cats and I have been through a lot in the last couple of years and people sometimes come to me for advice for new pet owners. I always say two things when they do: go to Oak Elm Animal Hospital and get pet insurance. I really could not have asked for a better veterinary team and am eternally grateful to have come across them when I did. I know my cats will get the care they deserve by bringing them to Oak Elm Animal Hospital. Thank you Oak Elm, you guys rock!!

Courteous, efficient, accommodating and thorough. They were able to squeeze me in for an appointment for my dog when other vet offices said they had no availability for at least 2 weeks. Nice to have found a vet who truly cares about the well-being of sick animals. Big thanks to Dr. Hassan, and to Veronica for the referral. You rock!

My co-worker referred me to Oak Elm Animal Hospital and Dr. Iqbal and I am so glad she did. Dr. Iqbal performed surgery on my 3 y.o cat and literally saved his life. When I had concerns after surgery, on a Saturday night at 7pm I called expecting to leave a message on the answering machine and was surprised that Dr. Iqbal personally answered the phone. Several months later, we brought my son’s cat to Oak Elm shortly before closing time. Dr. Iqbal performed exploratory surgery on her that very night. I am happy to report both cats are doing well. Dr. Iqbal and staff are truly compassionate about animals and their pet parents! I highly recommend Dr. Iqbal and Oak Elm!

I needed emergency help today and they took me in with open arms did not give me a hassle was very fairly priced the doctor was amazing and the staff is absolutely outstanding this place is absolutely the best explanation point thank you so much for all you do you are well appreciated! Very unprofessional recptionest and Vet. We recently got our dog from a shelter (not saying which one, because the shelter is not at fault) and have continued to bring her here because here previous records from the shelter are already here. The first visit was to get her spayed, it went well, but they lost her leash and brought her out with a cheaper one than the one we had. I was so annoyed when I called and they gave me the run around. No resolution was made. The second visit was very unprofessional and uncalled for. We don't live in the area, I have to drive an hour + to the office. I called them last week to get an appointment to get her nails trimmed. I asked TWICE just to make sure she wasn't due for anything else. She assured me, that everything was upto date. The shelter told us she'd be good for a year on shots. I get there and they inform me that they can't trim her nails because my dog needed shots. I was so annoyed. The nail trim was 20.00 but with the shots it would of been more.. I wasn't prepared, mind you I asked TWICE before coming in. The tech was kind enough to ask the vet. I wait in my car another 30 min, I wasn't expecting the Vet to come out. They had me sign some forms that releases them incase anything happens to my dog while in their care. The Vet was very annoyed and as I handed him the form, he made a comment about me coming in prepared to pay for services next time. My response was: Well, the right, and professional thing to do would of been at the time that I made the appointment. You type in her name and her info comes up.I asked them twice. All they had to do was say that she needed shots, I would of been prepared. He just walked off with my dog, they trimmed her paws quickly, which I really appreciate. I will be asking for her records and switching Vets.This could of been handled differently by them.

Best vet in Illinois! He knows what he is talking about and is very caring. I recommend him to everyone i know!

Took great care of our dog

The vet was not kind or helpful to us as we asked questions about our cat's care after his teeth cleaning and extraction. This was a traumatic experience for me and my boyfriend. During dropoff, the vet was very rough with our cat and shoved him in and out of the carrier quickly. During pickup, there was blood in the carrier. When I asked about this, the vet tech opened the carrier to inspect our cat's wounds. Our cat got out and was still loopy from the anasthesia. The vets heard him meowing and came out to grab him and get him back in the carrier. I had never seen my cat be aggressive toward anyone before, but this vet made him so angry. I was tearing up in the waiting room and no one tried to comfort me. The vet was not through in post-procedure care. I would absolutely not recommend this vet. My cat and the waiting room smelled like pee when I picked him up. It did not seem sanitary and his carrier had diapers soaked in poop and pee leftover in it. Overall, terrible experience and would not recommend this vet or practice to anyone. For transparency, this review is being written late, the procedure was mid-June.

They are great with our dogs. Excellent staff and outstanding vet!

The rescue I adopted my pup from chose this vet for spaying. Due to unfortunate circumstances the rescue canceled all appointments with this vet. However, no one informed me about this cancellation, I drove a distance in rush hour and prepped my pup for surgery only to be told my appointment had been cancelled. What really bothered me was the response from the vet himself. I questioned if we could still go through with the procedure and the price since we made it there and we're prepped, the vet abruptly opened his office door saying "I cannot help you, I cannot help you!" I was more than willing to pay out of pocket, but after his response, he made it very clear that he did not care for my pet. After that, I was happy my appointment had been cancelled and was equally happy to leave and book the procedure with a kind, compassionate vet who actually cares for animals.

Took my cat in for a dental cleaning. Front desk folks were plenty welcoming, but the doctor was not. He aggressively handled my cat and while I was filing out some paperwork my cat was shoved back into his carrier and taken to the back for his procedure without any notification of what was next for my cat. We got our cat back in a bloody and smelly carrier, he also had a tooth pulled which we learned via the rescue not the vet.

Nice front desk. Friendly saw me as new patient same day. Doctor was nice and friendly. He was knowledgeable. I had a good experience.
