Finan Animal Hospital Darien, Illinois

We decided to try Finan Animal Hospital because our our rescue dog, Domino is anxious/fearful, especially during vet visits & Finan is Certified Fear Free. We were not disappointed. Everyone, from the receptionist to the doctor was welcoming & gentle with Domino. Dr Leasure was great. She was understanding, gentle & knowledgeable about Domino's issues. We are definitely switching from our old vet to Finan Animal Hospital.

Had called this vet office for a second opinion about dental concern. Staff got me in the very next week. Very polite and animal friendly. Professional as well. The team that worked with my dog was amazing. I will definitely be using this office in the future. I would recommend this office if you want a caring and effective doctor.

UPDATE! I want to give a Huge shout out to Dr. April Finan of Finan Animal Hospital in Darien. My dog, Cooper recently had a terrible digestive issue and Dr. Finan actually took time BETWEEN SURGERIES to check Cooper over. She has answered All of my Many questions either with a personal phone call or had a tech call me. They also called to follow up on any progress. Her level of professionalism and concern is unrivaled in my mind, and I have dealt with a Lot of vets over the years. And her staff is always patient, understanding and considerate. I cannot say enough about my vet and would without hesitation Highly recommend her to friends and family! (Original post) Dr. Finan and her staff are really great. I trust Dr Finan and feel she is always up front and honest in her opinions and diagnoses, and strives to do her best for my pup, Cooper. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and the office and exam rooms are always clean. Whenever I call with a question, Dr. Finan always takes time to discuss my concerns. And if it's just a general question her staff is always helpful and patient with me. I definitely would recommend Finan Animal Hospital. Best vet ever. They always make time to see my pup even on a short notice; the staff up front are super helpful and on top of their stuff, prices are very fair for the quality of service, and of course Dr. Finan and the entire vet team are absolutely top notch. Even after moving away to downtown I've still kept them as my vet and make the trip out here anytime my dog needs to be seen, that's how good they are.

Everyone in the office is septacular, and Dr Finnan is truly a blessing for our dog Hyatt.

Finan animal hospital was recommended by a friend. I have 2 kittens vaccinated and will be taking them to be neutered. I am a nervous fur baby mom and they take very good care of my kittens and answers all your questions. I feel very safe with them and travel a long way to their office. I'll look for a place closer to home just in case for emergencies.

I’ve been coming to this clinic for about 7 years and honestly have never had a bad experience here. The receptionists, techs and DVMs always have such a kind attitude. Dr. Testolin has always been quick and spot on about diagnostics and treatment for my kitties when issues have occurred. They have been welcoming and informative when we had new pets enter our household, as well as extremely comforting and compassionate when it was time for one of my babies to cross the rainbow bridge. I work at a vet clinic, and although my doctors are amazing and I get discounts, I still choose to bring my pets here because of how much I value the relationship I’ve built with the staff and the phenomenal care my pets receive . Covid has made animal hospitals crazy busy and overwhelming everywhere, but I want the staff to know how much I support them and care about them. You guys are amazing! Keep up the great work!

Where do I begin.. we absolutely adore this place and the people that work there! Since Christmas our much loved 16 year old cat, Gypsy suddenly wasn't herself anymore. We went to four different vet clinics several times and went through various forms of treatment and investigation but nothing seemed to get figured out and we felt somewhat taken advantage of at times. Finan Animal hospital was the light at the end of our very long tunnel and treated us with nothing but patience and respect from the very beginning right up until the end when we finally got a diagnosis and had to let our girl go. If you think of your pet like family (which me and my husband do) this place will put you at ease and show you and your pet the respect and care you deserve. It's been a tough couple of weeks for me and my husband but we received a lot of sympathy along with a beautiful card signed so thoughtfully by everyone at the hospital which has been one of the most thoughtful gesture any veterinary clinic has ever done for us. Thank you so much to everyone at Finan Animal Hospital for your kindness and understanding during one of our most difficult times and a big thank you to our vet Amanda who was amazing the whole time. We are in the process of taking in the son of our recently lost kitty and cannot wait to bring him in to get the care he deserves ❤

This hospital works closely with my primary veterinarian and I had a dyer emergency with my pet to be euthanized because a rapid decline in health. They were so compassionate, sensitive and very efficient/timely to my urgent devastating matter

This clinic and veterinarians listen to the concern of customers but more importantly care for their patients. I know my older lab who is nearing the end of her life is in good hands and I’m grateful to have her in Finan care.

Person who answered the phone had no knowledge of prices or the services they had to offer. Then another person called me back and gave me the prices for their services which were ridiculously expensive compared to other veterinarians. Neither person was polite.

Dr. Leasure and her staff were amazing. Zeus and Aiden were treated with compassion and kindness. They explained everything to detail and answered all our questions.

I am always so impressed by the team at Finan Animal Hospital that I am nearly speechless while writing this. There is no way I can put into words how amazing the Drs, Techs, Assistants, and Reception are. I previously worked at another local veterinarian clinic and thought my 13 year old Lab was doing well as I had brought him in for multiple exams and various services with the Doctors there. They did fine work there but it wasn't until Dr. Finan did an exam on my Duke just weeks later that we found there had been a major issue within his body that needed immediate attention. From that point on it felt like the entire clinic rallied behind our boy to do everything they could to improve his condition. Not only did they support Duke in his journey but everyone was so supportive of our entire family as well. I won't even attempt to single out specific names because I know for a fact that every single person at Finan's played an important role in Duke's care. Now, we take full comfort knowing our younger 3 year-old Lab will have the opportunity to be looked after by the FAH team for many years to come. We are so appreciative for their team to dedicate so much of their time, efforts, emotions, and for sharing their knowledge with us. Finan Animal Hospital exceeds all expectations in every way.

Finan Animal Hospital provided an exceptional level of care for our dog Snoopy, demonstrating a level of compassion that we have not experienced at any other vet. Dr. Testolin was very thorough with explaining all aspects of his diagnosis and treatment options. She was also very respectful of our choices on how to proceed with treatment, and followed up frequently via phone and email to check up on his well-being. The team of technicians was also excellent at handling pets. Our dog was usually very nervous when getting his shots, but the vet techs here were great at keeping him calm even when he was getting blood drawn. He ultimately passed away, but even then, the team at Finan sent us a handwritten sympathy card with a small personal note from each of the staff members. We were extremely satisfied with how caring and compassionate the team at Finan Animal Hospital are and would strongly recommend them to anyone else looking for a vet.

My favorite animal hospital. Dr.Finan is amazing! I’ve been taking my two kitties there for about a year now and I really like how they care for them. I love the attention to detail at this hospital. They always have the name of the pet on the board which is really nice! And they also have treats for the pet so the pet doesn’t feel anxious or scared. I also really like how they can perform a lot of the tests if they are needed right there in the clinic and it’s very fast and efficient. The staff is very nice there and they always call to follow up or give results of the labs! I really love the service here!

Such a wonderful clinic! We have two older Bengals, and there were a couple of unexpected health issues that came up during their annual visit. Dr. Leasure was so patient with explaining everything and possible treatment options. I had to call the office on multiple occasions with follow up questions, and everyone from the front desk staff to the office manager to the nursing staff were just amazing! Would highly recommend!!

3 month old puppy given vaccination shot and took her home. Shortly after getting home our puppy had a reaction to the shot. We were not told anything about a possibility of a reaction or signs of what to watch out for nor what to do in the event of a reaction from the shot. We called the after hours number where a person seemed unconcerned and bothered that we called. Very unprofessional. Weekend hours are bad and the clinic seems to be a money grab , just my opinion. Better places out there to take your pet.

We've been going to Finan for about 3 years now. We had 3 cats that needed quite a few teeth extracted as well as dog dental cleaning and various other appointments. I'd say we spent well over $2k in services. So when we had unexpected medical bills in December, and notice our dog kept dragging her behind on our rug we knew we had to bring her to the vet, and then worried about another bill. I called Finan and told them I needed to bring my dog in but was concerned because we were cutting back on expenses and we didn't need a large vet bill. I was told I could see a technician instead of vet, which would save us $$ and then only pay for 2 services, which would cost approx $75. I asked if that was all we would pay, and I was told yes. My husband was then charged $26 for a visit fee plus the other 2 services. I know $26 isn't a lot of money, but I had to call to question the charge, especially when I was told we would only be charged for the 2 services. Well it took 3 callbacks from Finan, the 3rd was from Dr. Finan herself, and she sounded annoyed. I explained why I was calling and that we were cutting back on expenses and thought we would be only be charged $75. After some back and forth with Dr. Finan, she finally agreed to credit the $26, and then proceeded to say that she could recommend a facility for low-income families, I knew that was a shot, but I kindly asked for the information. After hanging up, I told my husband that they just lost a customer over $26 bucks.

Finan is a gem, in my experience. These are animal lovers. When my husband and I suspected that our cat had suffered a stroke, we called around to several clinics, but no one had an available appointment, or was unable to accommodate an emergency. The emergency clinics were either closed during the day, or said they probably could not see him until the evening, due to staffing. When I called Finan, sweet & patient Molly answered, and not only could I hear sympathy in her voice, but she was able to squeeze us in almost immediately for a visit. Without going into too much detail, I'd just like to say that everyone we spoke to at Finan was patient, kind, and simply wonderful. Every detail was explained. It is evident that they truly love and care about animals. I highly recommend! It's not often we encounter this level of compassion and kindness.

Dr. Testolin and the entire tech and reception staff are incredibly compassionate and professional. Since getting our puppy, we've had to visit a lot!... and they always listen and assess all of our concerns thoughtfully and with great care.

Today was my first visit...the office gets a '10'. Very prompt, polite, informative and enjoyable to deal with. Hopefully the beginning of a long lasting business relationship.
