I normally don't give poor reviews, every businees and person has an off day, however in this case I feel I must. We had an emergency for our dog on a Sunday requiring us to euthanize out pet of almost 16 years. Lady behind desk couldn't have been more rude or uncaring both on the call the day before and on the day we went. Ended up leaving and going to Dundee Animal Hospital where they couldn't have been nicer and more understanding. If you can avoid it, don't go to Companion Animal Specialty.

This animal hospital is AH-MAZING!!!! Like above and beyond! So its Saturday and of course my vets office is closed and my sweet Leela-Bean tripped on a step and her front paw nail went sideways. This hospital was quick friendly and because the quick didn't bleed they didnt wrap it and was only charged for a nail trim. Not even an emergancy visit charge!. I will be going here from now on and will be taking all animals here in emergencies and for regular visits. I wasnt charged an arm and a leg, up quoted and basically in and out in no time. The staff today was on top of it, because I watched a flood of people come in and were treated the same. Honest vets and Tech's!. 100 percent would recommend

We took my dog here when he had aspiration pneumonia and was struggling to breathe. Even though they were all full, they were able to accommodate him and had him stay overnight. The nurses were absolutely fantastic and sent us pictures of him that evening, which put us at ease. The ICU responded to our check in calls promptly. The vet was wonderful and was able to answer all my questions. I felt she provided more thorough information and suggestions than my regular vet. The facility is clean and very safe with covid guidelines. I am so appreciative and thankful to this facility who are open 24/7, even on holidays. Some of the negative reviews complain about the price, but unless you have animal insurance I feel this is to be expected nearly anywhere you go. Although our bill was costly for our family, I am willing to pay because they clearly went above and beyond for our dog. I also feel they did not take advantage by trying to have him stay longer than he needed to. They had me come in the next day to have a look at him and they let me decide if we should take him home or keep him another night which I was very grateful for. Overall, I highly recommend them!

My dog Poco injured his leg. I went here on Sunday night. Caring staff, very professionally, and helpful. Dr. Mulholland was very helpful and caring. Heather at the front desk even found a boot that she lent me to use for the time being so that pup’s cast doesn’t get wet. Technician Samantha was super helpful on Sunday explaining things to me and super helpful again today when my regular vet’s office needed records. Five stars!

Called for the first time to have our 14 year old feline put to rest. At the first call and all they way through the very end, they were great. The sad process of loosing a very loved pet to kidney failure and laying them to rest is so difficult. They explained everything and treated us with kindness.

My puppy has been having diarrhea and they gave us ways to help it pass. She is a bernedoodle, and we're starting to think she may have a chicken allergy, which they said bernedoodles get sometimes. They definitely know what they are doing.

Do NOT take your animal here unless your pet is dying and this is the ONLY place open! My cat suffered from acute kidney failure and they quoted me $3000 for a 20 hour stay. They wouldn’t even let me stay in the waiting room even though they are open 24 hours. Another lady in the waiting room saw how upset I was and recommended Dr Mehanovic. It was 11:30 pm and he showed up at his clinic and saw me and my cat. My cat was in Dr Mehanovic’s care for a week and it cost me less than a 12 hour stay at Companion. Companion did not do any special testing either. They just gave her IV fluids. Some of the ridiculous charges were $70 to take her blood pressure and $225 for an abdominal X-ray that I didn’t approve and they couldn’t even show me the results, making me question if they really even performed it. Why would they do an abdominal X-ray when she was there for kidney failure? The cost for my cat’s 12 hour stay at Companion was $858! They are extremely rude and don’t even make you feel as if they care about your pet. They just want your money. Stay clear!!!!

We've been here for emergencies and echocardiograms for our dogs. They're pretty expensive, but the doctors are very kind and knowledgeable.

Couldn't afford to keep my pet alive and regretfully had to put them down. I am happy that they gave comfort but, I can't afford anymore debt thanks to student loans and a high debt to income ratio, that was the only way to save them. If your tight on money don't come here, be middle class or above. Plans for payment increments are not offered here. 0/10

We visited this emergency hospital in August 2021 with our dog who fractured his leg in the middle of the night. He was in terrible pain and was whining/crying the whole time. We were the only patients at the animal hospital at the time and we had to wait 2 hours for the vet. They didn't want to take X-rays or anything. We were seen by Dr. P Bajuk who didn't even spend 2 minutes with us in the room. They took our dog in the back room to "examine" the leg and said they were not able to do anything for him other than prescribe him something for the pain. Very unprofessional and negligent. They ended up only prescribing pain medication and sending us home at 2 in the morning. We visited another animal hospital in the morning - they were shocked that this vet didn't provide the care needed for the injury we came in and didn't take X-rays.

Came in for a simple blood test to check for lepto. They had me wait 4hrs for basically nothing. They checked my pets vitals and brought him back to me quickly. I waited for another 30min to run bloodwork and got impatient and told them I'd be leaving. They Dr Alicia Ragni came back to tell me he was negative for lepto. How is this possible if earlier i asked if the dog could just the blood test done so i didn't have to sit for another 3 hrs they said NO! So now he's negative??? So i asked for a copy of the results. Very fishy to me. Definitely do not recommend DR. Alicia Ragni. They will lie and try to cover up by printing false test results. They print a blank piece of paper stating the dogs name, info and on the bottom printed negative!!! Go figure????‍♀️????‍♀️. Dishonest pos!

Previously I had rated this location five stars. Tonight our cat suddenly developed abdominal pain and after a half an hour of trying to determine what was wrong with the cat while it was limping mewing every single time it got up to move and would howl and struggle when we would touch its abdomen I decided to call and get advice from this facility. The person on duty was dismissive of our observations and was of the opinion the cat was looking for attention. She discounted our description of the cat being in pain and limping and howling when we touched or moved its stomach. With a heavy sigh she suggested we take our cat to a facility in Wisconsin. I take this as a sign that you didn't want to waste her time verifying that our cat was okay or if anything was seriously wrong. This will not be forgotten and I will never trust this site for any suggestions for our pets. I care about the animals in my charge and apparently this site no longer cares when the owner is concerned for an animal that they love that is in pain. My shock at her response to my concerns for our family pet cannot be overstated.

My five star review is not based on an actual visit, but on the kindness and compassion received over the phone when calling about our Katara's (12lb Pekingese/Japanese Chin) condition. Unfortunately, I do not recall her name but she spent about 10 minutes on the phone with me answering all my questions... and did not make me feel rushed. She expressed genuine concern and gave great recommendations for us to try. As it turns out, we do not need to visit the ER, but the direction we received to care for Katara was very much appreciated. Kindness and compassion like this is what this world needs! Many, many thanks. Should we ever need to bring our pet to the ER we would definitely choose this place first.

My little dog got sick and my vets office couldn't fit her in. I took her to Companion and am so glad that I did. They took her in and took care of her and everyone there is just terrific. I was very upset when I got there with her and they were very understanding, and feeling like finally someone cared that my baby was sick, it really helped me to be calmer. After checking her over, they explained everything to me, talked to me about her treatment and made her and me feel so much better. Thank you so much, all of you. You're the best.

This place is great for any short notice emergency and they treat you with real companion when you're in dire need of help. While my kitty cat did not survive his illness, I am forever grateful for all the care and love they have shown him during his short stay there. Me and my family also like to express our appreciation for all you have done for us. Thank you so very much.

This is an emergency veterinarian office. I really liked the doctor and staff here. But they are for after hours emergency, not a full time vet office. For that, ***SEE MY OTHER VETERINARIAN REVIEW*** because after having to visit this emergency vet, I was blessed to find the best full time vet, ever!

Brought my lab in here for the first time. Was very worried since a lot of places just get you for your money. Went into here because he was limping and couldn’t get up. Was worried called them before they said to bring him in. He was seen he just torn a muscle from fetching to hard. They were on top of it and always kept me in the loop. I came all the way from Antioch. Will go back if need be. They’re the best will be telling my friends about you guys. Prices are very good they aren’t in it for the money. Thank you again my Chevy lab is happy now with his sister Gracie playing ball again. Thank you guys again for working the night shift. Chevy appreciates it. ❤️

Not sure if my pup needed to come in for a scratch one evening, they were super busy, and they gave me practical steps to take until morning when I could get to my vet. Very caring, thank you.

Had an emergency with our cat last night we were going to bring her here but we were told that they could not accommodate us and they suggest we go elsewhere. UW Madison is where they suggested us to go. So you want us to drive our cat 2hrs away when it's an emergency situation when we live by crystal lake??? What Emergency vet cannot accommodate you, who turns away sick animals? My cat is currently at our vet office and hopefully she will be okay, no thanks to CASE.

I took my cat there because he had a persistent infection from an abscess that burst and the staff was very nice and very helpful. I was in and out in about an hour and a half and the pricing was actually pretty reasonable for a specialty hospital. The medicine they gave him and sent me home with is working very well and already see my cat healing! Will be going here again if I need to.

I just wanted to give a huge thank you for helping my cat Cooper. He suddenly was having severe pain and could not urinate. I called my vet and they could not get him in until 4:45 and he was crying in the bathroom. I called over to Companion and they said to bring him right in. They took him right back, and though another emergency came in after us and we had to wait, we were told what was going on and that was fine with us. There are more severe cases, just like a human hospital and that is to be expected. His time at the hospital turned into three days, always with communication and estimated cost. Dr. Ragni was awesome in always keeping me informed of his progress, even when Cooper was actively trying to murder the staff. Literally. There was some special skill in sedation with this one. (He is usually very chill but he was in alot of pain). They even took extra steps and moved him into a double cage with a blanket in a quiet space. This helped somewhat. We even spoke to the night doctor and he updated us and was very nice and informative on his condition. Dr. Ragni explained in great detail all that was going on and never made any decisions without contacting us. We always were given options. They were not good but gave us the options that were best for Cooper. She diagnosed what was going on and got him home as soon as possible. Even sedated, there was never a cat more happy to be feeling better and to be home. He is our big fat Cooper again. For an emergency hospital, they went above and beyond for us and I am so grateful they are here for our pets and us worried pet parents. I would not hesitate to utilize them again. Cooper may disagree.
