Our dog has been seen here for years. She was 13 and we put her down here yesterday. They were so respectful and she went with dignity. My other animals are seen here and I love them. I will always love you Miss Charlotte ????

They're an incredible team and always so helpful and nice. I've been using them for five years and I've never been disappointed.

Horrendous customer service. They do not care about your pet AT ALL. Back story, I have an 11 year old German shepherd. I called the office and was placed on a "brief hold" by Alex for TEN minutes. After hanging up and calling back, surprise surprise, Alex is available for my call. I explained that my dog was showing signs of significant pain and needed to bring him into to the office ASAP. He told me their next available is in 7 days. I asked if he could ask the vet for a prescription for pain medication to hold us over until the appointment. After another hold, he explained that since my dog doesn't have blood work on file, they wouldn't be able to prescribe medication. I've never been required to perform blood work on my dog for pain medication in the past. At any veterinary office. But now it's a requirement? Doubtful. I explained that my dog is in pain and if they require an exam, they should be able to offer an appointment, within a reasonable amount of time. Instead of being understanding, this uncaring brat tells me, "if it's a true emergency, he would need to go to the emergency clinic. Otherwise, we can see you in a week." I would never go back here and never recommend this office to anyone that cares for their pet.

Horrible customer service and lack of compassion. If you love your pet I wouldn't take them here because you're only a number that's all you are.

Helpful staff. I Iwas able to transfer prescription from one location to another for our special diet dog. Also was able to purchase them at Petsmart in CrystaLake. Found out they are open 7 days a week. Awesome to know for just in case.

Was told over the phone while scheduling appointment that the process would take no longer than 15 minutes and I could wait in the lobby for my dog, who needs only a booster shot. He has severe anxiety as he is a rescue and when I arrived I was told they were busy and it would take two plus hours for him to be seen by the vet. For a shot. Hours later I called to see if he was ready to be picked up and nobody answered. We have been going here ever since we rescued our dog and every time it is something else that prolongs the process. Going on three hours for a shot that takes less than a minute! What a joke

My dog was spayed on May 26, 2021 by doctor Frailey in Crystal Lake location. The wound has not healed well so she was prescribed Simplicef 100 mg on June 25. On July 3 we noticed a lump where incision was made. We came back and asked to see a vet. The manager told us that vet won’t see us / there is no vet on staff/ vet got bitten by a dog and is going to ER. We refused to leave the dog with them and asked for her records. The manager, Kristi Kriger kicked us out the door and “fired" us as customers. We ended up calling the Crystal Lake police who retrieved the records for us.

We have brought our dog in on several occasions and still have no real diagnosis. Deanna is an INCREDIBLY rude and unprofessional staff member and I can not believe the doctors allow her to talk to pet owners the way she does and still keep her job. I have spoken to a couple very very nice people there as well. We were sent home with paperwork from another dog with address and phone number in it and my dog is experiencing the same side effects as this other dog who received vaccines. Lethargy, vomiting etc. my dog did not receive vaccines. We brought her in for one issue and she came home a completely different dog. She had none of these issues when we brought her in. Before we even started this medication they prescribed for her she has been vomiting and lethargic. I’ll never bring her there again. I am so worried they gave her the vaccines intended for another dog according to the paperwork we received.

Horrible, don't waste your time or money going here. The wonder lake location is a much better ran facility. Crystal lake is a joke.

They say you have a appointment but you end up waiting outside for over 2 hours for your dog. Horrible customer service. Same thing happened twice will never be back. Go to Wonder lake, there better.

Horrible manager, horrible customer service, phones are always busy or go to VM, no communication between weekend& weekday staff. No vet on duty before 10:00 am even though your pet is there. The technicians are nice and compassionate but that’s where it ends. We switched to Banfield 2 years ago. Our older dogs are low maintenance so the plan was good. However, now we have a puppy with health issues and have found the service and knowledge outside of routine is beyond their capabilities. Sunday My husband brought our older dog in for a routine allergy shot, THEY FORGOT TO GIVE HIM THE SHOT, they were very nice when they called to tell us and told us to bring him on Monday AT OUR CONVENIENCE for a quick in and out no exam. Monday morning my daughter brought him, they finally answer the phone after several tries and she waited 35 minutes, they did not give her the opportunity to tell them she was time restricted because they were in such a rush. She had to leave him there, 3 hours later they called. My husband had to leave work to pick him up, at that point they said he could not pick him up (same dog he dropped off and picked up the day before) because he was not on the account, and that I needed to be physically present to add him. What!? After talking to Corine on the phone it was resolved, and after hearing my complaints she did not offer to fix anything, but told me she had the number for me to cancel my dogs plans, horrible customer service, and she’s the manager? Then they tried to charge me a second time for a shot I paid for the previous day! 3 dogs, 3 wellness plans, hundreds of dollars will be going to a new Veterinarian.

Took my dog to Banfield today. The wait was a little longer due to covid and I couldn't go in with her, which I normally have to because she's so nervous. She did really good, the staff and doctor communicated with me by phone very well and kept me updated. When we got home Cali was off, slept nonstop from 3pm until 2am, wouldn't eat, drink or go outside, just wouldn't wake. I used the vet chat, fed my dog a steak and she perked up, went outside and had some water. All in all I think the staff are very personable and friendly, their wellness plans are well worth it and the 24hr vet chat is great to have. Thanks Banfield! Cali will be back in 2 weeks.

Very polite very informative they all had a good attitude answered all my questions. When I needed help finding new food for my cat they told me what I needed and if I needed assistance from the store associates did they would know what I need.

My first experience today at Banfield Crystal Lake was far less then satisfying. The staff were professional and had great attitudes. The problem for me lies in the attempt of “diagnosing” my dog. I called ahead and brought my dog into Banfield today without any appointment because they were the only ones who would take her at that time without an appointment, that I appreciate. My dog has not eaten anything in several days and when she attempts to do so she shortly vomits all her food. She’s a very hyper and energetic dog and has been very fatigued and doing nothing but sleeping. What worried me the most is that also in these several days she has not consumed any water! Now, I don’t claim to be a doctor of any sort but I think any teen to adult human knows that this is an issue. I believe that getting some fluids in my dog should have been one of the first recommendations in a treatment plan. However, that was not the case. It wasn’t even mentioned. The first thing that was mentioned to me about treatment after dropping my dog off and receiving the phone call from the doctor was about doing a test for pancreatitis, spoken very confidently (like a good salesmen) that this is a common issue in young females. And, also an X-ray for any potential blockages. For the small price of $540.00!! I agreed to the pancreatitis exam which was only $81.49 after tax of that 540$ or 536$ (Makes no difference). To find out that the dog does NOT have pancreatitis. Still no recommendation for fluids. So, in great sales like fashion, we move onto now my dog is posturing herself in positions that show abdominal pain and the X-rays are necessary blah blah blah. (once again, spoken very confidently like a good salesmen). I know for a fact that my dog did not consume anything to cause any blockages. I declined the X-rays and picked up my dog as I found another place willing to take her for far far less money. And my experience there was fantastic. They immediately administered fluids, and gave my dog medication to ease her stomach. I let them do the X-ray for $125.00! (To find out there’s no blockage as I knew). And received a real treatment plan in 1.5 hrs. To where Banfield had my dog from 10:30ish to 3ish. To sum this up, I felt the experience at Banfield crystal lake was ALL about dollars and cents, I didn’t feel that there was much care there. It seemed as if we were gonna “throw parts at it” and hope we get lucky for ridiculous amounts of money. I won’t ever be returning to a Banfield if I can help it. The staffs attitudes were great but I didn’t come there for friends. I came there for my animal to be treated, I understand needing to do several different things to find out an issue but not at those rates. Better be on the money for that much money. Or at least explain that you’re “unsure”. Don’t talk confidently to people as if “this is it, we gotta do it!” Just to be wrong. For hundreds of dollars.
