the people here are patient and helpful. Helped me a lot. I was planning take my cat to a flight. I made some mistakes because of my own negligence, they helped me solve them. I can feel that they really care about those pets and their customers. Defintely worth to come here if you pets need help. Also my cat gets nervous easily and becomes aggressive. I am grateful that they did not dislike him for this, but gave their patience.

Highly recommend VCA City Pet on Lasalle. We adopted an older, chunky cat, Moo Moo, from the anti-cruelty shelter and were new cat parents. The staff here guided us, helped us understand our cat and provided incredible treatment to him. Our cat LOVES going to the vet and I think the staff love when he comes in as well. You really feel like you're part of the family and that your pet is one of their own. I appreciate the doctor's ability to find multiple solutions to a health issue and to lay out all options + prices so you aren't blindsided. Moo Moo and our family thank you!!

I love our vet. She was very helpful when my pup had stomach issues. Ran tests and suggested low ingredient food. He’s been better ever since. The only reason they lose a star is the prices. I get it’s river north but doesn’t mean it’s right to overprice so drastically.

I spent a lot of time calling vets in Chicago for my 8 week old Bernedoodle, and VCA City Pet Animal Hospital immediately stood out to me. The front desk was so kind and informative, and patient with a new dog owner like myself! My dog has since been seeing Dr. Garza for two months, and she’s been wonderful. Dr. Garza is totally on top of things and has guided us through our puppy’s first year. She’s also been so responsive and understanding as we’ve had to call in for various issues that arise for any puppy parent. We feel so fortunate to have found Dr. Garza and the VCA team!

Took my new puppy here and they were great start to to finish. I let them know my puppy had worms and they moved my appointment up two weeks. The receptionist was so nice and accommodating. The vet tech was very thorough, informative, and great with my puppy. My puppy is pretty shy but within a minute she warmed up to the staff because they clearly know what they’re doing. They also honored my Healthy Start voucher from the Anti Cruelty society well outside of its valid time. Top to bottom, great place and will be my primary vet.

When a good friend recently passed away I inherited her two cats. Dear 15 year old Evelyn was is sorry shape having lost alot of weight in recent years and needed desperately to be groomed. She only would eat a little bit of Fancy Feast for her other mom and nothing for me. I promptly took her into City Pet and had a dental performed. She also got a gently grooming. The dental has changed her life! Unfortunately she had several extractions but within a few days Evelyn was eating well and now, event eating dry food! Having her teeth taken care of was all she needed to thrive in her new home!

All the staff are so nice and caring. I was so nervous and they put me at ease with my lil baby and her surgery. She is doing so much better and this Fur Mommy is happy to have discovered Dr Peisel❤❤❤ she sleeping peacefully since being home from surgery and getting back to her old self.

The staff is great and Dr. Garza has the best bed side manner. She’s very caring and concerned for our dogs well being. Most importantly my fur baby is healthy and happy and that makes us happy as well! Thank you City Pet Hospital!????

Since moving, I'm not overly pleased. I see a different staff every visit, which is disappointing when there were only a couple of Doctors before and I'd know them. The staff is very friendly despite this. The prices prior to the move were also higher than most vets in the city I've been to, but now they're Eve higher.

0 stars if I could - I'd NEVER TRUST them with a sick cat! I brought my cat in for a simple nail trim. We recently moved downtown and thought a closer vet would be more convenient than Lakeview. He is a super calm cat and very well adapted to being out. This cat typically is on an airplane once a month. The tech came in and suggested wrapping him in a towel. I explained he was used to the nail trim it wasn't necessary. I noticed after a few minutes he was crying and clinging to me. I looked down and he had blood everywhere. I asked for a new tech to come in who was even more aggressive. I ended up telling her to stop cutting. They barely did TWO FEET and was charged $30 when they didn't even finish all 4. Our vet in Lakeview had nurses falling all over him saying his chart read WHAT A FUN CAT! after nail trims. The only thing great about this place is the kind receptionist. I immediately requested my records and left. If you can't be patient with a friendly cat during a routine nail trim how could I trust them with a sick cat? It is no wonder this place is always DEAD inside because no one wants to bring their animals in. You should be ashamed of your treatment of innocent animals and overcharging people.

Our kitty had been having some serious issues for a while and had been confined to a cone. We literally had taken him to three vets and had payed so much money on medications and shots, etc. It took the vet here only 10 min to determine it was mites. It blows my mind that this had been overlooked by other vets. They called days after to make sure his medication was working and whether the over grooming had stopped. Highly recommend, they really helped us and our kitty!

I have only had amazing experiences at City Cat Doctor. The doctors, technicians and staff are professional and polite. I boarded my elderly cat while I was on vacation and they were great. My kitty wasn’t even mad at me when I picked her up. Highly recommend.

Sad to see this wonderful place has closed. It has been a few years since my little baby Persian and I came here. This was one of the first cats-only hospitals in Chicago, founded by Dr Gerald Brown, DVM, the original owner. An exacting, catankerous perfectionist who had never seen a silver Persian before when my friend and I brought another little baby here who needed surgery. Dr Brown looked at him, said he never saw anything that small. It did not stop him from successfully operating. This never was open 24 hours nor did they recover overnight. Dr Brown brought the little kitty boy back with him to his home to make sure he was fully recovered from anesthesia and stable post-op. When we saw Dr Brown again he was beatific, smiling warmly, holding the little boy, smitten, reluctant to let him go. That showed us what everyone else knew about Dr. Brown. He had a huge, compassionate generous ????. It was said when he saw how troubled, agitated cats were when combined with dogs, it led to him separating the two, and focusing solely on cats, who he loved. That was the reason this Feline Medical Center was founded. That's my experience with Chicago's City Cat Doctor. And that outweighed any issues about their one way narrow in & out postage stamp parking lot. He was worth it. Deserves ???????????? not 5.

I have been taking my cats to this location since 1991. Staff is great a bit pricey but they take great attention and care.

I would give zero stars if I could. I brought Flex into the vet for a seizure. Paid around $600 for all sorts of tests and was told to monitor him. Two months later he stopped eating. Again, I brought him in and paid for X-rays, exam, lab work etc. I was told to watch him. I said run whatever is necessary since he was like my child. Two days later I was told he had pancreatitis and I was sold $100 in meds. 24 hours later he passed. He died within minutes of my rushing him to a hospital. Something didn’t make sense. I asked City Cats how could he just die from pancreatitis. I was told he probably had spleen cancer via email. When I asked why didn’t someone tell me I didn’t get a response. I have medical contacts and sent his exam and X-rays to another vet that runs a hospital. She responded he had spleen cancer and a vet tech could have diagnosed this. She informed me that is was malpractice to not disclose this. I took the high road and met with the city cats instead of filing complaints etc. They blamed a temp. So I went to the temp. Moments ago the temp blamed city cats. Sadly I lost Flex and tried to be kind to a business however these things do not work. I was charged over $1000 and not even offered a refund. I will be filing a complaint with the IDPFR and I hope no one makes the same mistake I did. Don’t go here. They charge for tests and don’t even have the decency to tell you the results that matter.

Great first experience, and prices are really reasonable. If I wasn't moving out of state, we'd be forever customers!

Best location to take your cat. I've gone to 2 other places around the city and most only cater to dogs. This place only serves cats.

My cat was treated very well by the vet and staff. I brought my healthy cat in for a checkup and booster shots. The appointment was quick but not rushed and I was happy with the service.
