PLEAE READ ALL OTHER REVIEWS AS I WISHED I WOULDA LISTENED TO WHAT EVERYONE ELSE WAS SAYING..OVERPRICED AND UNPROFESSIONAL.....So very UNPROFESSIONAL AND RUDE VET 1ST ROUND OF SHOTS COST 220.00 WHAT A RIPP OFF normally would be around 120.00 tops then when I asked the vet why it was so much she got very rude saying she'd just bring my Jax out amd I could go elsewhere after I was already here and my dog wasn't even in my possession..she wanted to put down all other vets in town. Next time I'll drive into the burbs and fight traffic rather then to deal with that ever again...rudest place ever. Other then the front end peeps they were very nice ...also I asked how much it would be b4 I came and was told that they would tell me once they seen him. What a joke of a place

Do not bring your exotics here, especially reptiles. I brought my tortoise in because I noticed he was bleeding from odd places one night. I made sure to call ahead and ask if they treat reptiles and I was told yes. One good thing about the clinic is that I was able to get an appointment 2 days later. I got to the clinic right on time and was immediately taken into an exam room with my pet. I waited nearly an hour for the vet to finally enter the room. It seemed like the only reason I was able to get an appointment was because they schedule way too many patients in a day. There were at least 5 other people in this tiny clinic waiting to be assisted by one vet who was constantly buzzing between the exam rooms. I heard another patient asking the vet if she forgot about them because of how long she had them waiting. When she finally entered the room, she neither introduced herself or correctly identified my species of tortoise -- which is a very common and distinct one so someone who is able to treat reptiles should be familiar with it. Don't get me wrong, she was super friendly but she just seemed so frazzled with juggling so many clients in a short period. She never asked about the husbandry of my pet or reacted to my concerns about him not eating for weeks and simply agreed with me that it was likely a respiratory infection and would need to weigh him. She was in the room for maybe 3-5 minutes before leaving us again for 30+ minutes. JUST TO GET A SCALE. We waited again for 20+ minutes after a technician/secretary weighed him for the vet to come back into the exam room and give him injections which luckily only took a few minutes before we were able to leave. By the time we left the appointment, it was around 3:30. Our appointment was around 1:20 so we waited more than 2 hours for a total of 10 minutes with the vet for lackluster service. I later had to take my tortoise to another vet who specialized in reptiles because my pet's health declined rapidly over the course of the following two weeks. I mentioned that he was given antibiotics at this vet's and I was informed that what was given was only a partial course of antibiotics and not a full one. If anyone has experience with antibiotics, you NEED to complete a full course (often a week or more for this particular antibiotic) in order to fully cure an infection and prevent a resurgence. My tortoise ultimately needed to be put down as he was suffering from extensive internal issues. While I do not know what exactly was the cause of my pet's illness, I know that the vet at Bronzeville Animal Clinic was not experienced enough with reptiles and I implore reptile owners to seek out specialists for their pets' needs. Do not do what I did and take the longer drive to the specialists just outside the city. Do not go to a general vet unless you're getting something done like getting nails trimmed because having an untrained eye assess your animal could lead to their demise.

I’m so mad! ???? Before going to the vet, I told the office that Pep (my English Bulldog) gets anxious while waiting to be seen. I called TWICE and asked if I could wait outside until the vet was ready to see Pep. They said ok. My appointment was at 5 and wasn’t seen until 5:45! Then I still had to wait a long time while I waited inside. They could hear her in distress yet there was no sense of urgency. When I asked if I could go outside to get her some air, they said no TWICE and the second time they said “if you leave, we’re going to have to ask you to come back another day.” REALLY?!! My dog was breathing so loud and hard I was freaking out. The wait and the disregard for my concerns was ridiculous. Never go to Bronzeville Animal Clinc on 31st and Indiana!

First time. Guinea pig had URI. Great advice on how to take care of my guinea pigs.. Visit cost and meds were reasonable. Dr. Gil was great... And her assistant Gilbett. Thanks for taking good care of my cookie

Unprofessional, over priced, always treated poorly, from the limited interaction, by reception and vet. Long waits with appts. Plus difficult parking situation.

Took my two turtles in for a check-up .I Was very satisfied with their care ..The doc phoned you while in the waiting room to tell you about the examine of your pet , what's care was needed and how much it would cost . The wait was a tab bit long of a wait to see the vet, I was early for my appointment time and I , was seeing pets taken care of before my pets were . However it speed up after I acknowledged that I had to be an pt appointment myself . I will be coming back .

We took in our two Persian cats for checkups and had a great experience! Our male cat Hamlet had some matting on his chest that Dr. Gill removed, and now he feels like a brand new kitty. Hamlet also had an accident on the way in, and the staff was kind enough to clean out his carrier and rinse off his body. We also loved interacting with the bird and chinchilla in the waiting area. All of the staff was very professional, and we look forward to coming back!

I went there yesterday with my 2 cats. After the girl cat got her vaccination she got kicked out, because she was meowing to loud ( sounding like someone would kill her). When I put my finger in the cage, she still was crying even louder, but after my husband put his finger in the cage, she calm down.( typically a daddy's girl). And my boy cat, he took everything like a warrior in a very calm way. They are very nice and friendly, and Owen, the cockatoo says to everyone who enters the animal clinic, hello.. We had a very good experience.

The vet is wonderful but disappointed in the lack of response from the front desk. I was asked my phone number, I shared my phone number to find out the number that they took down, they did not bother to call but called another number instead. Multiple occasions where myself and my Fiancé were told I would get a call but never got a call

Well, my experience with this animal clinic WAS positive up until my recent visit here. I'm sure the veterinarian here is great, and the staff seem great too, but whomever is supposed to answer the phone must be non-existent! I was supposed to receive the results of a lab culture done on my kitten by Tuesday of this week (mind you, it's a 96 hour culture and it was done on this past Saturday). I understand these things are time consuming but there is NO EXCUSE to leave somebody hanging when it comes to the concerns for the health of their animal. My cat could have a worsening condition for all I know, and they STILL have not answered my calls. It has gotten to the point that the voicemail box is too full to accept any more voicemails. I've called many times today, yesterday, and on Tuesday and still nothing. This is literally unacceptable and I will be taking my cat elsewhere for any further treatment because this is absolutely ridiculous. I worked in customer service for years, I know things get crazy and busy and that life happens, but at this point I am fed up and done being patient.

Very nice place ????. Dr. Gill is an excellent vet and comes highly recommended with good cause. Always fairly priced considering how expensive medical costs are for your family pet. The staff are animal lovers and take care of your family members so you need not worry, especially if you are a fussy parent. Also, make sure you say "Hello" to Owen. He is a big highlight of the clinic.

If you have Guinea pigs do not bring them here. Or any animal. I had my guinea checked here for certain concerns and was sent home with meds for an issue she did not have. When I called a couple weeks later with the same concern I could not get a return phone call. Staff lied to me everyday for a week as to why the doctor could not talk to me. DR SOPHIA GILL IS PLAYING WITH YOUR PETS LIVES DO NOT GO HERE!

We took in my cat for surgery, he got his surgery suppose. When we find out the next day he passed away which was the hardest he didn’t recover enough so we thought. Then we find out many other animals passed away there. Done with this vet all together
