The Team at Blvd Vet River North is second to none! They are always so friendly, responsive, and take the time to talk through any questions and concerns, regardless how small or insignificant they might be. I have had nothing but positive interactions with every employee I’ve encountered, and feel 100% comfortable leaving my dog in their care. I would recommend Blvd Vet River North to anyone.

The BLVD Vet Team has been great! Since joining, I've been incredibly impressed with them. After prescribing my pup with different antibiotics, they reached out a couple days later unprovoked to see how he was getting along. Same thing following his vaccination shots. Whenever I'm in the building, it feels incredibly clean, the staff are super friendly, and my dog seems totally relaxed. Overall, highly recommend this place.

I had my first visit was last week and I love that this in my neighborhood and I can walk to this location which is a plus. The staff is very pleasant and we didn't have to wait at all for our appointment. From the beginning of appointment the Vet Tech made my dog and myself feel comfortable and was able to answer a number of my questions. We met with Dr. Chen and she was super friendly and easy to speak with. As this was my first visit ever, she answered a lot of my questions for a new dog parent. The look and feel of the space is great and because my dog requires a cardiologist, they offer a mobile service where the cardiologist will come to Blvd, which is super helpful. I was quite impressed with my first experience and would gladly recommend.

Dr. Newman is incredible. My cat Oliver has a lot of dermatology issues. We've seen countless vets and veterinary dermatologists over the years and to be honest I was losing track of everything that has been recommended. Dr. Newman tracked down his records from his other clinics, read through everything, and summarized all of information with her own perspective and recommendations into a nicely laid out email and even included links to resources. Additionally, when I brought up other recommendations given to me from other vets that she wasn't sure about or hadn't heard of, she researched the idea/method to see if it was a possibility. I greatly appreciated her going the extra mile for my kitty and demonstrating great clinical skills and ability to research new ideas.

One of the best vets anywhere. The staff is friendly, the office is clean and nice. Sometimes it can be a little difficult to get a last minute appointment, but they always do their best to try. And, it just proves how amazing this place is. For as long as we live in Chicago, we will only come to BLVD!

I have absolutely nothing but the best to say about this place! The Doctor we saw knowledgeable and very kind. Our dog Loki loved her and the vet tech. They are thorough when it comes to listening about your concerns and pets health history. The Doctor gave us tons of options and good advice on how to move forward with our dog. The facility was clean and everyone inside was overly nice and and kind! You don’t realize how far kindness goes when your worried about some health issues with your pup. 100% recommend this place.

AMAZING services! Every single employee is knowledgeable, follows up in a timely manner; desk staff is friendly, engaging, and absolutely wonderful! Dr. Newman is wonderful with dogs and makes them feel comfortable and happy throughout the entire visit! My puppy walked out of his shots with his tail wagging and as excited as when he walked in! Love this place and well worth spending a little more on your vet needs!

Great place, super friendly - my dog typically gets a bit skittish around the vet but besides having a problem getting on the scale he didn't have any issues. Happy to have found them.

I had been going to BLVD Vet with my previous dog Annie, who I ended up putting down in their clinic due to an illness. The care that was provided to her while here was nothing but average, and seemed that only bare minimum services were performed. I never felt that they ever went an extra mile to reassure that my dog was in good hands. My heart was broken and I felt crushed after putting her down here, and the fact that the vet could not even give a simple farewell to me after this tragedy was quite disturbing considering that this would be a normal gesture as someone you would expect to have some sympathy like a veterinarian. I understand this is something they deal with on a regular basis, but I had no expectations of putting her down that day. Despite all of this, I brought my newly arrived pup back to establish care again with BLVD Vet. When calling to schedule, I was put on hold for over 10 minutes. When they decided to take me off hold, I explained my circumstance and was hoping for an accommodation since my other dog was there just a week ago! I was not looking for a hand out by any means, however nothing was said about the death of my dog in their clinic, and the receptionist taking the call had such a rude attitude towards me. I was appalled that this lady had no respect for me as a previous patient and treated me as if she could careless about my situation. I will not be returning to BLVD as there are plenty of other veterinarians out there that would accommodate and show passionate care for me and my pets.

I went to Boulevard Veterinary River North for the very first time since having my new puppy, so I was nervous and a bit skeptical. However, the staff made Monroe and I feel extremely comfortable and provided premium service. They provided wonderful guidance and even put her name on a gift bag full of goodies. Boulevard will now be my primary vet!

Everyone at Boulevard Vet has been so awesome. They took their time getting to know my pets and making sure that every issue was handled. When one of my dogs was sick they called to checkup on her multiple times. Very happy to have them as my vet, highly recommend!

On time! Very professional. You don’t feel like you are being sold on services or product the dog really doesn’t need

Disappointed in experience. I have been a client of BLVD River North since 2019. My most recent experience has me switching vet care permanently for my dog. I brought him in as he was not feeling well and seemed lethargic. To note he had been previously seen in April 2021 for his wellness check-up and some vaccines. They diagnosed the issue and he pulled a muscle in his back and was given medicine. I was also informed of new aliments that were not brought up or discussed on the previous visit. Along with the new heart murmur came the request to have an echocardiogram, a full dental clean, and another panel of blood work (separate from the one that was done on the visit) and an ultra sound for a slightly elevated liver enzyme. As you can image getting thousands of dollars in test estimates after the almost $400 I had spent on a visit seemed a bit aggressive. I was upset and felt that something was off with all of these expensive recommendations. Don't get me wrong, I am happy to spend money on my pup when there is a need but after getting a second opinion my new vet let me know that besides a teeth cleaning (which was not a dire need) my pup did not need the diagnostic work that had been recommended. Each vet is different and offers different paths to caring for your animal, but the new vet themselves said that what was recommended was quite aggressive and not necessary. Although the BLVD River North office is a nice clean setting and their reception staff is great, I would say be cautious with what tests and diagnostic workups they recommend. Second opinions are a must as it seems as though with the newer vets onsite have shifted their priorities into selling vs. what is in the best interest of the pets or in the best interest of the owners. Hope this experience can help someone.

We wanted to find a vet that is close to our home because our puppy isn’t super fond of the car, and we were in luck! We can say enough good things about Boulevard. They are so thorough, thoughtful and have been great amid the pandemic. Thanks for all that you do!

Professional, very friendly and knowledgeable staff. They have managed our requests so far (giving help in preparing for international travel with our pet dog) very well. I would recommend them.

So happy to have found a vet that is top quality, and so conveniently located! I recently moved to Chicago this past fall with my 2 older dogs, Keegan and Clooney. The BLVD River North team has been spectacular from day 1. After my first visit with them, I spent 45 minutes on the phone with Dr. Chen as she broke down everything about their health and well-being. I’ve never had a vet take so much time to field all my questions and make sure both Keegan and Clooney are at their best health possible! Since then, I’ve called several times about various things. Whether it be needing guidance on a certain flea & tick medicine, how to address an upset stomach, or anything in between. The client care specialists are always lovely to talk with and I never feel like a burden when calling with questions. Likewise, the vet techs are equally as great & do a great job breaking things down. And, as mentioned before, Dr. Chen is outstanding, thoughtful, and especially caring to make sure Clooney and Keegan are living well (I’ve yet to have experience with any other vets, but I’m sure they’re all great). The location is perfect and the inside seems beautiful. I can’t wait to physically be in the space once it re-opens in July! Although it can be a little pricey, I think the high quality of care is worth every penny. Thank you to all the BLVD River North team for being such caring & passionate people! We always look forward to vet visits with you.

You want to be able to trust that your vet is making recommendations based on your pets' needs. This is not the experience I had here. The vets here use your love for your pet against you, pressuring you and guilting you into extra tests and treatments. I understand wanting to be thorough but the vets here are definitely only motivated by money. I visited twice since I moved into the neighborhood, wanting to give them a second chance even though the first visit was not great. I will not be returning, going back to our old vet Pets First in Lakeview because of the quality service there and they truly act in the interest of your pets. My dog came in for something minor both times and they used the same tactic of trying to frighten me with all the worst case scenarios if I don't do the extra tests or treatments. 1) Came in for an annual exam. Vet noticed my dog's inward eyelashes and list all the worst case scenarios (she can go blind!) if I don't do another exam and get her laser eye surgery. I had to repeatedly decline and explain she's had that her whole life (She was 10), the condition does not bother her at all. 2) Came in because my dog has an UTI. It's common for her breed, she gets them once every few years. The vet suggested we do a blood test and a scan to rule out kidney stones along with other worst case scenarios. Her UTI treatment was already $335. The vet was guilting/bullying me to do the blood test and the scan, which would be an additional $400-$500. When I pushed and asked about the statistics of dogs getting kidney stones, he finally retreated and admitted it was low. He claimed it was their "gold standard" to rule out all possibilities but really it their "gold standard" to line their pockets. In the end, it did turn out to be just an UTI and my pup is fine.

they are ok but felt like our needs/concerns were not met. we were just another number to them. after switching to Companion Vet down the street, will will not be returning to Boulevard. It was night and day the care we received.

Our dog is extremely anxious but he always seems calm when he goes to Boulevard. They have several locations now with staggered hours which makes it easier to find an open place during off-peak hours. Incredible staff and it feels like a boutique hotel. Highly recommended!

We took our 10 week old English Bulldog puppy here today for a wellness visit! My husband and I were amazed with the staff and Dr. Williams! While it was different visit due to covid19, we were extremely pleased! We called when we got there and the Technician called us and asked a few question’s before coming out to get our puppy! Within 5 minutes, the Doctor called and went over everything, from food, to vaccines to training! He was very thorough and answered all of our questions! They cleaned Louis’ ears, gave us a folder about taking care of a new puppy and treats and such! I am so pleased with their care and happy to have found them! What a great group of people! From the reception staff, when I made the appointment, to the technician and Doctor, they were all so friendly! Kudos to all of you and we want to thank everyone for making this first encounter an amazing one!!!!

Dr. Williams and Dr. Fredrickson routinely commit veterinary malpractice. Individuals who practice animal cruelty cannot be allowed to be around animals.

Our experience was a good one. We were greeted by Ann who is super friendly and got us situated right away. Ellen was very patient and even provided medical assistance after my cat scratched me pretty good on the hand. Although Jet (my cat) was not excited and very poorly behaved while seeing Dr. Williams, the Dr. was patient and understanding and examined him as best he could. We felt good about the overall experience and how we were treated. I recommend them to anyone with a pet.

Team was friendly and personable. Veterinarian was sensitive to our puppy's needs and breed. She was very educational in her approach with all the information she shared in our first visit. I would highly recommend this practice! Excellent COVID precautions taken as well.
