The staff are very thoughtful, and compassionate. The vets are awesome. Love it here.

If you care about your pet please stay away from them. If I could give them below zero stars I would do it. For example they wanted to give anesthesia to my 14 years old kitty just to remove few pieces matted fur from his stomach. Seriously??? Who does that?? Especially, my sweet boy never been aggressive and violent and he actually always purred when my previous vet was removing the mats in previous years. Unfortunately for me and my kitty his regular vet passed away last year so I picked this clinic after carefully reading the reviews and I got deceived by them. I strongly don’t recommend this clinic.

We have been coming to Animal House of Chicago for many years. They have seen our cats (and their humans) through a sometimes dramatic gamut of health events, and are ingenious in analyzing and treating mysterious health issues, and they do so with great kindness. So grateful to them.

The staff is beyond friendly and helpful with all of my questions. And I usually have tons. I feel great after my appointments with Animal House. I would 10/10 recommend! Thank you team! Y’all my hero’s!

All staff are conscientious and very knowledgeable. They all are compassionate to my cat. They are the best!! And when we have to board our cat, we have confidence that she is well cared for with Animal House.

My name is Ashley Volk. Idk why this review is under my moms name but so be it. - either way!!!! SUCH AN Absolutely a great spot- sure sometimes pricey- but they actually do care. Always so considerate to my personal needs. I rescue rats and small animals and I always refer people to this vet. They also go out of their way since the pandemic to make sure we’re comfortable as well as our pets. This is huge for me. They never miss a phone call, & they always keep me updated…. because you know with the pandemic and all -it’s weird not being able to be with your animals in the waiting room or in the little that rooms where the doctor sees them- So, I was kept at ease because of them consistently calling to update me. They always call me with 20 minute intervals letting me know what’s going on and this is another huge factor for me why I really trust them with my babies. Also when my babies pass they go out of their way to make sure they call me when their urn is in - and sometimes they throw in cards and beautiful signatures. One time they even Added foot prints and hair locks with both around them to my earn which I didn’t even know what the time was possible. I feel like after a couple years with them they really do understand my love and affection for my babies that I bring in …especially in a time of need. I like to think and believe that they really do not overprice me or do weird procedure is for extra money without my knowledge like most vets do in the city Would highly recommend.

My African Grey comes home happy after boarding with the Animal House. The staff and vets are the best and take their time to explain everything about my baby's care. This is the only place I truly feel treats my bird as they would treat their own pet. Love them!

Even for their own client, in an emergency they will not budge. Better find a clinic that feels like you are family. They will not even refill meds.

The medication that Dr. Jenny prescribed for my conure has kept her alive and well.

I have been taking my pets here for YEARS! In the past I have owned many exotic animals and their care is exceptional! The knowledge is unsurpassed as well, no matter what type of pet you may bring in! Everything is explained and you are never rushed which is comforting as well. The BEST vet around!! I would give them more stars if I could! Pepsi loves them too! All 1.8 lbs of her!!

My fur baby Emma has sensitive skin and has been in and out of the Animal House of Chicago with great frequency. The staff is caring and truly professional always taking care of my Emma’s needs. We both recommend this establishment with no hesitation.

First it was a woman who messed up his teeth and then I was taking the other doctor in which is a guy the show him with the parrot in the photo he clipped my rabbit's teeth and broke all of his teeth off and he died shortly after they threw animals that were in crates onto the ground from a high distance is disgusting that they're still open

Took my gerbil here and someone met us outside. The lady was acting dumb and giggly the whole time, which is completely inappropriate when your pet isn't feeling well. She took my gerbil inside and when they came back, they were very general about the procedure and I paid over $200. Did not help my pet and killed him with anesthesia. Since putting small animals under anesthesia is a risk, its something that should be told to the owners beforehand. Just a place who wants to rip you off and the people working here have no idea what they're doing. Got more information online than these "professionals".

Love this vet. I took my rats here several years ago and they were so kind and compassionate. I'm bringing my new kitten here now and they were really great at giving me price breakdowns, and explaining everything. Highly recommend this vet.

We always have a great experience here - the vet techs are kind and patient and Dr. Byron is extremely thorough in going through results and options. I've not personally worked with any of the other Dr.s, but have also heard great things about them as well!

I have been a customer with four of my four legged family members over the last 10 years. I highly recommend Animal House of Chicago for their professional competence, loving care and empathy. They are a bit pricey but all the above qualities apply, therefore worth it. They take in exotic species and, frankly, I would prefer if one of them was my doctor.

Dr. Jenny and the staff at animal house are the best. There’s no one I would ever trust more with my birds. I’ve been taking my birds here for the past 5 years for annual check ups (they are my babies - gotta make sure they are healthy!), scary emergency sicknesses, and boarding. It’s a further commute than other vet offices, but I continue to come here. They are great with the birds, value is great, and they provide helpful tips so that I continue to care for my babies as best I can. Even with Covid, the curbside dropoff/pickup has been very organized. Thanks, Animal House!

I brought my first Budgie here during the pandemic and even though I couldn't come in with her they made me feel very comfortable. I am a helicopter pet parent so it was awesome they could provide my lil birdie with what she needed and assuage my anxiety. I definitely recommend them for avian medicine!

During the pandemic, it has been difficult to see a vet. When our bird became ill, the entire staff at Animal House of Chicago went above and beyond to get us in quickly and helped us to navigate his illness! Highly recommend them all!!!

Has always seemed to provide accurate information about our cats with appropriate options for care, being mindful of costs. Very good communication and compassion, especially when we had to put a cat down. Went to a different vet when we moved and quickly came back here despite the longer drive; much better.

I trust Dr. Byron De La Navarre with the care of my ball python. I moved to another state and will drive back an hour and a half so that my baby can continue to receive expert and compassionate care.

Animal House is awesome! We've been taking our bunny since we got her and have always felt she was very well taken care of and loved every time. We had her spayed there a few weeks ago and everything went very smoothly. They updated us over the phone often and kept her overnight to make sure she recovered well. After we picked her up, Dr. Jenny called us to check on her. The level of care is unmatched. We recently boarded her at Animal House for several days. While she can't tell us how much she enjoyed it, she seems to be super healthy and happy. They communicate very well across the teams, so they know she had just been spayed and were aware of her slightly skittish personality. We brought her pellets but they provided the hay. We couldn't be happier and would highly recommend Animal House for both veterinary care and boarding of bunnies!

Bummer- I cant even really review them as they "are not taking new or healthy" pet appts at this time. I have a new macaw and want to make sure she's healthy as birds are masters at hiding illness, so I wouldn't even KNOW if she was really deeply sick until she showed signs. Being that she's 4.5 months old, a baby still, that could be dangerous. Not a great first impression.

Animal House of Chicago is a wonderful veterinary clinic. The owner and the staff a competent, compassionate, and truly care about their animal patients. Just as their sign states, they treat their patients like family. I trust them and would not consider taking my beloved animals anywhere else.
