We took our little guy (5 month old norweigian) with a broken leg. I have great respect for Dr steffan ..he handled Trey perfectly. He is very down to earth. And he listens..I do not know who the person was who spent time on the floor while my little guy right after surgery. But I want to say Thank you for not leaving him.alone. Asa is the best! I asked for help he came right out to the car picked Trey up took good care of him.he asked me many questions about Trey's food and habits etc.. Very good at making sure..the only thing I wish you had was a couple different options for finance.. We made it work without but would be helpful. It is shocking when your pet gets hurt.my other two have health insurance. They advised us to wait with the baby till 6 months he is 5 months .Thank you. We will recommend you

I can't say enough about the excellent care and compassion Daisy received during her time at the hospital. The doctors and staff kept me informed of her condition and prognosis every step of the way and made her last days comfortable. I want to thank them for their understanding during this difficult time.

Even though they are caring. I do believe they did a great job with our dog. The scheduling if about half backwards. I cant schedule an appointment at the end of the day until every time slot is filled before then...so I'm supposed to just keep calling to check that a slot is filled so I can reserve a 4pm slot. But wait someone beat me and now 4pm is gone.. even though I tried to schedule first thing in the morning. its a disaster and I can't believe whoever thought it was a genius idea is still there. *response I will definitely disagree that makes any sense. You are trying to fill slots so money is not wasted on an empty time slots. If someone else is ok with that you should schedule them like that. But for someone like me who can not just take off early from work. I need to schedule everything I do. If 4 pm is available let me have 4pm. Now 1 person gets 4pm and 19 people don't. You are the only business I've ever seen do something like this.I do appreciate helping our dog. But unfortunately this does not work for me and we will likely change company's because of it. surely I'm not the only one upset about this. I did bump you up to 4 stars because you guys do awesome work and we were very happy with your services for our dog. However, I need service for me to ensure I can have my pet seen

We went to the animal hospital worried that our puppy had Parvo. They gave him a test and said they’d call us in 5-10 minutes. I waited an hour. I finally called and was told the test has not been run yet. I finally get a call 15 minutes after I spoke with the front desk. He was indeed negative so they had us come in. We get seated in a room and they get his info and say the doctor will be in soon. We waited in this room for 1-2 hours while our puppy was sick. It was extremely unprofessional my dog hadn’t eaten in over 24 hours. When they finally saw us they immediately said they didn’t know what was wrong with him. They gave him fluids for the countless hours we had been waiting for them and an antibiotic and anti nausea pill and sent us home with some bland wet food. All of which did nothing to help him but after spending so much money for them not to do anything I was going to try everything I could before I took him back there.

My dog Arail is a ninety seven pound German shepherd that can be a butthead at the vet. But the crew at Highland were wonderful. THANKS ☺️☺️☺️

I have been a client of Highland Pet Hospital for over 16 years. I LOVE Dr. Steffan. He is an empathic, kind, and compassionate. He will do whatever it takes to make your pet feel comfortable. Dr.Steffan will crawl on the floor and do whatever it takes to care for your pet. I would reccommend him to any pet owner. Dr.Steffan takes the time answer all questions and make the owner feel at ease with all processes. Recently, I had to put my dog down. It was a very emotional and difficult decision. I called him for his advise and he got back to me promptly. At such a tough time, I really appreciated him and his advise. Dr. Steffan took his time with the process and assured me that I had made the right choice. But as we all know, it is like losing a family member. In less than 24 hours, I received a bill. At no time had I ever carried a balance or owed Highland any money. The timing of the email bill was off. The pain and raw feelings of my loss were ripped open. How callas and thoughtless. Understandably, I called the office and expressed my concerns. The office staff was supportive and said they would have the billing person get back to me. There was no call back so I called Highland so they could understand how painful it is to open your computer and there is a bill with a link (not live) in order to pay a bill. Fortunately or not, I was directed to Ben. Ben is the billing manager. He showed no empathy, kindness, care, respect and was extremely rude to me and the situation I alerted him to. Ben also made sure to let me know that "he was in charge of this process". "never had an issue with it prior to me" and I should just "pay the bill". I had asked to speak with Dr. Steffan and he promptly informed me that Dr. Steffan's schedule was full and he had surgery tomorrow. He "does not make calls to clients" and if I expected him to that I should be aware "if you know Dr.Steffan..... you will have to call several times in order to get a return call". Class act Ben. Way to promote and support the competent vets that are employed by Highland. I am certain they would not be happy with those types of comments. As for Ben, your thoughtlessness, lack of caring, disrespect of clients, and rudeness does not help your clinic shine. And finally, I am so glad I am not your pet. That poor animal!

Called from car so they’d send someone out to bring us inside, they forgot about us for over an hour until I finally called again. Once I called again they took my information (first call was 1min 2nd was 9min) if that says anything.. then once I got inside we got a room immediately, it took about two hours for them to see her (which is understandable for an ER). They took her back to figure out what was wrong THEN came to me with a receipt to see if I could even afford their care. I said I couldn’t afford everything that night, but they won’t allow you to make payments or even give suggestions for care credit. They proceeded to walk out, create another receipt with the care I could pay right there, only then did they even start her care. They had everything on a list that they know she needed to be healthy, but since I could only pay half right then & there they gave minimal care and let my dog leave knowing she didn’t receive proper care. My dog will be okay but others won’t, and that’s really really sad. This vet is all about money, animals are not the main factor here. (I also didn’t even get to see my dog again until I paid in full) shameful.

Recently I was working a full time job, with full benefits. I started looking for a new job due to wanting a more set schedule to spend time with my family. I was offered a position. During the interview I was asked about five questions, not including whether I have experience in this field or the software. I was hired, and excited because of my love for animals. I was given a folder that said at least a few weeks of training (which I would need, because I have never used this software). I was ultimately let go after 6 DAYS on the job. The first words out of the person’s mouth was “it’s not because I don’t like you”… which usually means I don’t like you. Needless to say I was left without a job and much needed benefits. I can’t recommend a doctor because I never met one, was told “we’ll get to that”. Worst work experience ever. Here’s a tip: when interviewing, make sure the person either A.has the experience and B. knows the software. This business literally wanted a warm body to sit in a chair and answer calls.

The vets are very helpful. 3 stars for patient/customer service. Front desk service is okay at best. Front desk clerks could use more over the phone training when helping out the patients owners. Communication could be better and more prompt as well. I wanna leave 5 stars because highland is more patient centric, but it’s the service that makes it…

I recently had to deal with the death of my beloved pet and the people at Highland were the best in the world so compassionate and loving I recommend them to everyone they are amazing

Doctor said my dog have scrotal hematoma. $500 misdiagnosis. Dog died of bladder stones

We had to have our dog put down due to deteriorating quality of life. Highland handled the whole process with such compassion and care, they made one of the hardest days of owning a pet a little easier to accept.
