My dog went in for a teeth cleaning...she was burned by the warmers they lay the dogs on after the procedure. My dog suffered for weeks! We suffered with 3 weeks of sleepless nights. And the Dr. would not refund me in fill for the days procedures. Beware!

Went with a friend who's dog appeared to be pretty sick. Dr. Heart was amazing. She first listened Intently to what was happening, she asked thoughtful follow-up questions and then layed out her recommendations while explaining exactly why she thought which was the best for the dog's overall health. Her knowledge, compassion and thoroughness were amazing. I found my Vet when I get my next dog

Thank you for all the care you've provided for my kitten Angel I want to thank you for being there for me and Angel when he was suffering. You didn't care if I was a client of your hospital, you had compassion; It was a very sad and I appreciate the time you let me cry in the room. Thanks to Anna and the Dr Bohner. I will be bringing all my pets here from now on. They are outstanding – kind, caring, and knowledgeable. Highly recommend these lovely people.

I will start off by saying Dr. Hart is so kind and really love our pets. I do keep on running into problems with the receptionist though. The first time I brought my dog, I was yelled at for not bringing a poop sample when I was never told to do so. I thought I made the mistake until the second time I got told off about the poop again, no call or email with this Information. The third time I brought a bag even though no one told me to bring it in and finally I was doing it right. Last time I went, I was told I haven’t had a visit in awhile even though these were months within each other and that I needed to bring in another poop sample! While this is frustrating, I’ve always gotten a lovely call from Dr. Hart and the staff takes good care of my pets.

My family has been taking our pets here my entire life and they have always been so great. They deal with pet emergencies very well. I moved out of Bartlett but still travel out to the suburbs to have my pets seen here for their checkups.

The staff at Heartland is so compassionate and helpful. Our cat Rufus fell ill and we rushed him to Heartland. They immediately sent us to VCA for treatments they could not perform. Rufus received excellent after care and is now doing very well after being diagnosed with Asthma. Everyone was so supportive during our time of crisis and have helped give Rufus an on going care program so he can lead a healthy life again. Thank you for giving us back our little Rufus!

We recently adopted a kitten. After 19 years of stellar care of our dogs there was no question where we'd be taking Mulberry. Taking a cat to the Vet. can be a whole different adventure. Heartland makes it painless. Our pets are family. The entire staff at Heartland make us feel like family there. They even sent Mulberry a get well card a few days after coming home from surgery.

I've been taking my dog here for 3+ years, and the entire team is amazing. Recently, I had my 11 year old schnauzer get a full teeth cleaning. They kept me informed throughout the entire process, and I couldn't be more pleased with the outcome. My dog seems to be much happier as a result too!

Kind, considerate, skilled. Your pet family is their family! When we'd had aging cats the staff made housecalls.

The vets and assistants are all very friendly and have a great "bed side manner" with my cat Vincent who can be skittish during his vet visits.

I will start by saying everyone here is fantastic. They truly love and care for each and every animal they have. But I think their love for the animals overrides common sense. I recently adopted a rambunctious young mid sized dog, which turned into quite the experience. Apparently the dog is not allowed around children, though I was told she came from a family with children. We foster children and have a baby on the way so that’s a huge problem. We were told she had some quirks, though I would hardly call instant aggression about nothing a quirk. Now she was absolutely loved by everyone at the shelter and you can see why. She had a great personality and loved to play. But they downplay the dogs issues. The first evening we had her we stepped out for about an hour and a half. She was put in the spare room. In that hour and a half she not only destroyed the room but almost chewed through a two inch custom order oak door. She was in the spare room because I was told not to crate her by the shelter. She doesn’t “handle” being in a crate they said. Well she doesn’t seem to handle being in a spare room either. After cleaning up her mess she decided to make our bed her home. When my wife tried to get the dog off the bed she lunged at and bit my wife. A couple hours later the dog attacked me when I tried to put her in the garage for the night. The next afternoon she attacked my other dog. I’ve had dogs my whole life and have taken in some rough ones, but this dog is different than anything I’ve ever experienced. When I spoke with Allison, who runs the place, she acted like the behavior was no big deal. Apparently she knows somebody who has a dog who chews on trees. So because of this I shouldn’t be concerned a dog almost chewed through a solid two inch oak door in just an hour. Now there were a lot of little clues from the volunteers that I should have paid more attention to. I will admit that. The dog had been returned several times. She had some “unusual quirks” as they put it. I was told by the girl who runs the place she is great in playtime, but a volunteer said that wasn’t necessarily true. She had fresh scars on her nose and ears because she had been in confrontations with a couple other dogs. Everyone was overly ecstatic that somebody finally took her. She came with a bunch of home training sessions. The red flags were there, but Allison does an amazing job of rationalizing and it worked. We took in a troubled dog that is going to seriously hurt somebody some day. She lasted less than 24 hours with us. I was very clear that children were in the picture, so to not be told she poses a threat to children until the day after I adopted her is troubling. To downplay some very dangerous behavior as “quirky” is flat out ridiculous. Again, great people, but be very careful adopting a dog from them.

Dr Hart and her staff, have been around for years. Ive been going there since it opened and some of those staff members are still there, that alone says a lot about the love they have for our animals and Dr. Hart. Every time I go the staff are the most friendliest and concerned for my animals. I trust Dr. Hart with my babies and will continue to respect what she says. When I’ve had to put my babies down the love and true concern of the staff is very heartfelt. Heartland Animal Hospital is truly a blessing in our life’s.
