Staff & Doc Stephens are so nice & kind & patient with us and our doggies!! Doc Stephens has helped us to keep Gino’s blood sugar on track and we are so very grateful for that. Also very compassionate and accommodating when we had to our our Holly down. Much appreciated.

When I moved to the area I tried a place in Naperville and was incredibly disappointed with the lack of professionalism there and quality of care there. Then I went to Oakhurst and Dr. Stephens. We have since moved to Yorkville but I continue to drive my animals to see Dr. Stephens and will never go anywhere else. He and his staff are the best and really care about their patients and owners. I recently had to put one of my cats down and they were just amazing in the way they handled it. Do not hesitate to go here. I highly recommend.

This was the second vet I tried in the area, and they were superb. Wish I had been going here the whole time - very helpful and definitely would recommend them.

Very horrible experience with staff. Very rude and unprofessional. Don’t trust these ppl with your pets. They do not deserve your money. Sad day!

We went here 4 times for my dog. 3 out if the 4 times they "couldn't figure out" why our dog was having any problems. The 4th time we had to google ourselves the symptoms and found out the problem ourselves. We even went to another vet and they found the problem without having to do much besides look at my dog. Hundreds of dollars wasted on a horrible center.

TOP NOTCH PRACTICE I have been taking my pets to Dr Stephens for at least 8 years, maybe more. He is knowledgable, honest, compassionate, thorough, and very good with all my animals over the years. Dogs and cats! He doesn't order unnecessary tests; flatly says "we COULD do X, but it really won't give us more information". He is not the cheapest vet, but he is the best I've had in 30+ years of pet ownership. That matters more! When one male cat had stones blocking his urine, incredibly sad and painful, he worked with me to treat him as well as keep the bill under control. He was honest about the likelihood of this recurring over and over; this was the second time it had happened. After consideration, we predetermined that the next time, it was the humane thing to let him go. This happened again within a few months, and the pain of repeated episodes and procedures to fix it was too much to put him through again. Another diabetic male cat had a rare disorder with his skin, which Dr Stephens discovered on a routine exam. He was truthful about his prognosis, saying he would be prone to irreparable and painful tearing of the skin, and when it happened, it would likely be bad. This same cat had a terrible abscess that was obstructing his breathing. It unsurprisingly recurred after initial draining, despite proper care. This situation, along with a large tear in his skin that occurred during the same time, led me to the painful decision to let my beloved cat go. With both these situations, Dr Stephens and his staff were phenomenal. They gave me as much time as I needed to say goodbye, and called me after to check on me. I currently have two dogs. One has two rare autoimmune diseases, the other now experiencing early signs of doggie dementia. In both cases, he has been minimalistic in his approach, knocking down expensive and mostly ineffective treatments in favor of easy, OTC options along with the bare minimum of prescription drugs. He responded quickly to an emergency situation we had, and without charging an arm and a leg. He listens to what I say, and makes me feel very respected. He knows that, just like with children, only mama knows best that something is wrong. I do take my dogs to a low-cost program for their routine shots and teeth cleaning, as I am on a fixed income. Anything else goes through him. I will never change vets unless he closes shop! I have told the office staff that he's not allowed to ever move or quit practicing. ????

Dr. Stephens is a very kind and calm man. He takes his time to listen to concerns and answer questions. We had 3 dogs, now 2. The last 2 haven’t ever been to another vet. We started to go to Oakhurst Animal Hospital as soon as they opened! Highly recommend!!

I picked this vet on a whim when I moved to Illinois and oh my goodness did I get lucky. My cat has never gotten such attentive care! Dr Stevens also gave me many home comfort measures I could do myself to help my kitty between check-ups. He has thrived under the care of this practice. The staff and Dr. Stevens are all the very best of their practice that I've ever encountered as a pet owner. I would give more stars if I could.

I put my dog down and they were very comforting and helped us through the pain. Now we have a new dog and we are sending her here. They have a very friendly staff and they are very good at doing there job. My dog was having stomach problems and now she is running fine with the new food they suggested.

We have only been here on 2 occasions but have been so impressed with their care. Dr. Stephens is wonderful and has been so kind and caring. We had to say good bye to our 15 year old shih tzu a few days ago and they showed such understanding and compassion. Would highly recommend this veterinarian for your pets needs.

Dr. Stephens is an excellent vet. Having recently gone through losing a beloved cat, I could not have asked for more in terms of his skill and compassion through diagnosis, referrals, helping us decide the best treatment plan and support. He is knowledgeable, compassionate, and clearly explains all available options with their pros and cons. We are delighted with his routine care for our cats and dog there, and would highly recommend his practice.
