The Original Dog Barber Arlington Heights, Illinois

Our dog, Remi, has been going to this establishment for years - he is an aggressive dog that hates being brushed and groomed. Chris is the only person that can take care of him, and we appreciate that. This is from his last haircut this past week, and he looks adorable!

Fantastic Owner (Chris) him and his team do an amazing job on my Labradoodle. I've been bringing my dog there for about a year and each time my dog looks amazing when I pick him up.

I ordered ham and eggs, hash browns burnt. I told the waitress that I would be very upset if they were not burnt. After waiting for my food for a half hour, a different server brings out the food, potatoes barely cooked. I sent them back to be made properly. They came back with the response that they could not be cooked more. I sent them back saying that I don't want them. I waited while my wife ate her food, then went somewhere else to eat. I cannot recommend this restaurant.

Perfect experience! After a traumatizing experience at another groomer this place is top notch! They respected my wishes of my dog not being caged. Price is very reasonable especially for the northwest suburbs. Plus my Yorkie came out extra cute and she was happy. Regret not coming in sooner!

We are very happy with the overall service we receive at the Original Dog Barber. Our standard poodle is very happy when she arrives and beautiful when she is completed. She likes that she is not in a cage and can walk around and look out the window to wait for me! We highly recommend this groomer for our beloved dog!

We've been bringing our Golden Retriever here every month since he was a puppy. Chris does a wonderful job, and Kurri always comes home looking terrific! I can't imagine trusting our boy to anyone else!

The guy who runs this place is great! I've been going for years are have recommended it to family members who are also long time customers! They are very down to earth and honest and my dogs always look great when I pick them up! Keep up the great work!

They don't treat the dogs that come in with care and I will never be going back. Owner is very unprofessional and frankly, quite rude. The way the owner aggressively grabbed our dog at drop off had me worried the whole time he was there for grooming. A few hours later when I called to ask nicely how long it might take, he took the phone from the woman who was checking for me and sounded annoyed that I was even asking, then proceeded to hang up on me. This forced me to go pick my dog up while he had only been bathed because I worried how he was being treated. The owner proceeded to charge me $40 for just a bath... I paid it and left without making a scene even though he claims otherwise. What this business needs to realize is that dogs are so important to their families and they need to be doing everything to make all families feel that they are in good hands. The whole situation was handled completely wrong and the owner's ego prevents him from reaching out to customers to correct bad experiences, he simply marks their reviews as fraudulent and carries on with 5 stars.

We brought our dog here for the first time today. We are so pleased with their work. Our dog looks great. We'll definitely be coming back.

I've taken my senior rescue pomeranian here for his last three groomings. The Original Dog Barber is far and away the best groomer we've had the pleasure of visiting! The staff is professional, knowledgeable, and able to work with a dog who has difficulty being handled. His coat always comes back shockingly soft and his cut stays looking symmetrical and fresh for weeks. 10/10

They’re awesome! We’ve been taking our dogs (mini schnauzers) for the past 3ish haircuts and they’ve always done such a great job! One of our dogs isn’t the easiest to handle and yet the cut is still perfect! We prefer going to the Original Dog Barber over petsmart because all around, the service has always been a better experience and they’re more affordable as well. Thank you guys!

My dog is a old guy and really needed his nails clipped because i believe his long evening walks helps keep him alive and he lives for those walks...Unfortuntley my ponyboy bucked like a bronco and was acted very mean and growling which is very unlike his tender loving nature ...plain and simple the meanest i have ever seen my dog in almost 13 years has been every time he gets his nails clipped..i thank the dog barber with all my heart for clipping his nails and putting up with his big act of trying to be a mean dog...once he was done and off the table , mr sweet ponyboy returned almost instantly.Again i thank them for taking him in right away and being the professionals they are ..God Bless all workers at Original Dog Barber he is already walking better as soon as we left...

Our family friends suggested Chris and his amazing staff after we had a terrible experience at our previous groomer. We trust our friends and are so glad that we brought our two dogs to Chris! Our dogs used to hate going to the groomers and after today, I have never seen them so incredibly happy and kissing their groomer before we left. They look and smell amazing. We have found our new forever groomers with Chris and his amazing staff!! Thank you so much.

My little 15 lb. Shitz shu, which I rescued would not let anyone groom him or get near his paws, he would become very aggressive and put on a good fight. I took him to Chris pleading for help desperately, Chris was awesome, took good care of him and groomed him beautifully. I’m so thankful for Chris. Chris has made a friend for life. THANK YOU CHRIS.

Guy on the phone said he cant guarantee to get me in and I can come by if I wanted but no guarantees that they would take us at that moment. Why would I even waste my time? Im busy. Went somewhere else as a walk in and they helped me right away. He lost good business with me
