My Shih Tzu Hoss was feeling so bad Sunday night. I didn't think he would make it. I call Monday morning they said bring him right over. I did told them what was wrong and left him in their capable hands. Within the hour I received a call to pick him up. He has Pneumonia. The doctor took and x-ray, drew labs, and gave him a complete physical exam. She gave him Lasixj, cause his lungs are filled with fluid, antibiotics, and med for his fever. My wife was concerned he might be contagious and called that night because we have other dogs. The doctor called back quickly and answered all her questions and put her mind at ease. Hoss is still ill but it has only been 3 days. He has improved so much we are very grateful for Community Animal Hospital and mostly Dr Alpert.

I have had some vicissitudes trying to obtain a round worm med for my cat Kiki. At first it was unavailable; then it was mailed to my home was delayed because it got destroyed by someone running over it; then it was unavailable and was going to be ordered; I was told a liquid rx would be given. I ended up getting another pill which I had to pay for. This process has taken almost 3 weeks, $$$ and a half tank of gasoline to resolve. Not the smoothest process.

Great people! Great prices! I have used them for 5 years now and won't go anywhere else.

Love how you guys are with the animal's and how you guys have it where people can bring in money and make an account so they can say money and use it when they need it

If you care about your pets do not use this clinc get another opinion before it's too late.

They are a very well run veterinary run clinic. Friendly informative and honest and upfront with you . Also very compassionate when you have lost a pet.

I was kept waiting from 2:20 until 3:00. The vet came in and VERY rudely announced that she had an emergency that was more important. I will not be returning and will not be referring anyone else there.

Always great service. Accurate diagnosis, professional care. People are very friendly there, and the Vetrinarian Julia is top notch. I highly recommend.

I am honestly so disappointed with Community Animal Hospital. Everyone told me this was the best vet in town. I took my lab there once or twice when I first got him, and decided to take him back since I was on the fence with other vets in town. The best part about our visit was the nurses, they were all so kind and nice to my old boy. But once the actual doctor came in (Julia Alpert), she had very little patience and was not thrilled with having to deal with this and him. I told her that both of his ears have been bothering him, but more so the right ear. She responded with "yeah, I'd say more so the right ear." It was a very inappropriate and condescending response. Halfway through the visit, after initial examination, they took him into another room for what reason I honestly don't know. He was scared. He resisted. Both her and the student lost patience with him and dragged him out of the room and shut the door. At other vets in town, they usually do whatever "procedure" they need to do on him right in front of me. Which today, was cleaning out his ear and clipping his nails. When Hawthorne Animal Hospital does the routine ear washing and nail clipping, they ALWAYS do it with me in the room because they know that he is more comfortable that way. Not only that, but they also educate me on what they are doing and talk me through it. It helps that my pup can see that I'm there and that everything is okay. I thought I made it very clear to the doctor, the student, the nurse, and even reception that my dog has anxiety. They should have know better than to drag and choke him away from me when he was resisting them. It was very traumatizing for both of us and I will not be bringing him back to see that provider. Please educate your employees to have better patience with older dogs. I do want to reiterate that the nursing staff was wonderful.

The Staff is always very nice and I love how well they take care of my 2 Chihuahua's and my Cat. Reasonable Prices and The best Veterinary Animal Hospital in Pocatello! I will not take my animals anywhere else! Thanks So much ????

The staff and the Dr are very thorough and they take time with us even when they’re short-staffed and really busy. You can tell they really care about your pets and you as a customer.

Good animal hospital, friendly staff and seem knowledgeable. Unpleasant smell coming from the waiting room we were in, but understandable given the context.

At my last appointment here, I went in for help with my dog's reactivity, and Dr. Alpert did not want to listen to my concerns. She interrupted me and made me feel bad for coming to her for help. The receptionists and vet techs were always nice and friendly, but I will not be coming to this vet again.

Great place to take your pets

Wonderful staff. We thought our little dog's dew claw was broken yesterday and they were able to get us in first thing this morning. They were so helpful and took great care of our little Bella. Highly recommend.

The staff are very caring, I love that. Dr Alpert is great. My pup has seen her twice and each time was able to explain the issue in a gentle and common sense way.

If you want to waste your money without solving your pet's problem, you can go to this veterinarian

I took my dog in to this animal hospital today to look at a couple things. I thanked them for clipping my dogs nails while we were in and the veterinarian responded with “I wouldn’t have let her leave like that.” Instead of just saying you’re welcome. If you want to go somewhere where the actual veterinarians have decent customer service, go elsewhere. The receptionist and vet techs were absolutely kind and amazing, but the vets are condescending and I think should work on the way they speak to people.

TERRIBLE!!! DO NOT GO!!! I've never been disrespected by a business owner like this before. I took my dog to get ticks removed from his neck, when she comes in she quickly feels around my dog's neck and tells me they are gone and had crawled off. I replied that it wasn't possible. She rudely told me to get them then. I was shocked by her reply and told her that wasn't my job and she gets paid for it. She yells at me that I can leave if I didn't like it,. On the way to the door she stormed past me and pushed me out the way to swing the door open. I took my dog home and had to get the ticks out myself that were still in the same place on his neck that she felt on. Never yell at your customers and Don't get a attitude about doing your job!!!!

Needed emergency work in Ruger, vet met us there, and was wonderful, will be going back to her

My puppy took a stick to the throat and they were quick about getting it fixed up very friendly very helpful even though it was an emergency visit it didn't cost an arm and a leg

I have taken my animals here a few times, and they are amazing! The staff actually cares about animals.

This vet has been a great experience for both me and my puppers. I trust them to always take care of my boy. They have a great staff that is incredibly professional and compassionate.

Don’t go here, go to a vet that will give you all the information you need to be prepared and one that is more thorough. We took our dog to this vet when she was pregnant. First off the vet wasn’t even in the office when we went in for her x-ray and initial visit but we weren’t informed this until 40 minutes after waiting for the x-ray results. It took her several days to get back to us with the results and she wasn’t even sure about the number of puppies, we got two different answers and were told she did have a big litter but it’s between 11-13 puppies. Come the day of delivery, which was on a week day not only did our dog have 17 puppies of which 7 died but when we called the vet because of complications she wasn’t in again and we were directed to another vet. Had this vet been more thorough and told us what the other vet did, that it is hard to get an accurate count after 10/12 puppies perhaps we could have prepared better for 17 puppies, perhaps done a second x-ray, and not put our dog through 36+ hours of labor and that big of a loss. We are grateful for the ten that survived but regret not going somewhere else in hopes we could have saved a few more.

Lost 2 pups because these people couldn't provide a vet, is there ever even a vet here? I don't know what to think. We love our pets like kids but they treat them like a broken toy. Just throw it away and get a new one so I can charge you for the puppy things that are easy and not worry about the real scary things like seizures.

I am very heart broken. I went to go pick up my dog of 14 1/2 that I had cremated and left in tears. She was put in a cheap container and the clay paw print was totally half fast and looks horrible. I feel like my dogs honor was totally disrespected. I will never give them business again

They took great care of my mother in law as she said goodbye to her furbaby. They came out to the curb to help her take her little one inside. I'm so thankful for them helping her.
