At first, the staff was very welcoming and friendly when I was planning to adopt a dog. But once I did, it was like they no longer cared since the dog was adopted. I live 2 hours away so I decided to get vaccines at a local vet but return to Hope For Life Rescue for the neuter.... HOWEVER, they stated they planned to neuter this puppy at 4 MONTHS OF AGE and told me that was "the law" and refused to reschedule any later.... I attached a photo from the AAHA recommendations & for a larger dog (which they estimated him to be a large breed) is 9-15 months of age. So everything that was supposed to be included in the adoption fee of $325 (vaccines & neuter) I did not get... And they refused to refund me any money. They offered me no solution and were not willing to work with me in any way. So much for wanting to help keep dogs neutered to help the issue of over population..... Thankfully I will be getting my dog neutered because I am a responsible human, but I can only imagine the amount of people that may have or will run into the same concern as me & this rescue just adding to the problem they claim to be helping.

At first I loved this place and thought so highly of it, however as time went on I noticed a lot of things that I found pretty concerning. Number one, the website not always posts the actual amount of dogs they have at their location. Several more are for adoption but only visible on Instagram as posts. (Which by the way was how I got my dog in the first place.) Secondly, this location has not answered a single one of my phone calls that I have left or responded to voicemails. Then they took several days to respond to my email... which is okay. However, my frustration is the excuse of not being able to answer phone calls or voicemails (due to a lack of staff) but has plenty of time to request donations on their Instagram account as well as posting play date pictures etc. If there is time to advertise your business, then make sure you take the time to respond to those who keep the place you’re advertising IN business. Including vaccines and neutering in the adoption fee is awesome.... if it actually takes place...I needed my dog neutered in October (when it was scheduled) and they finally got back to me about it a month later after he already got an appointment at a vet.

Adopted an older cat from here apparently they lied about basically everything her age they said 6 to 7 paper work said 8 take her to the vet they say she about 12 to 13 just by looking at her eyes. They said she had an auto Immune disease we where ok with that, take her to the vet second time turns out she doesn’t have that condition it’s not even on her paper work. But she did have cancer in her lungs and arthritis/spinal issues where her back leg nerves weren’t connecting anymore so much for telling us about any of these prior conditions that where lingering. Sadly she passed away after only having her for about 4 months. We are very heart broken and feel very hurt by the lies.

When a place discriminates about a person age I find that appalling. I was doing application to adopt a year old kitten and was told I was to old and needed to select an older cat. Shame on them. Went to Virgina Beach Animal Care and adopted the most precious 1 year old kitty/cat. Surprisingly not a third of the cost. The lady that runs the place is horribly rude. So thankful for her ugly attitude, cause I adopted a gem.

Adorable little rescue. Big change from the shelter I worked at so seeing the animals free roaming was super neat. Adopted Precious and Sapphire and love them so much already!

After some disappointments with the VB ASPCA wen turned to Hope For Life Rescue to adopt another cat for a companion to our 2 y/o spayed female. I was directed to their website and spied Cisco, a 5 y/o neutered male. I took about a week looking at him before deciding I had to have him. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. We adopted Cisco on April 15. He is a sweet, livable gentleman to our tortie, Coco. I am so blessed to have this guy.

A wonderful place of hope for our forgotten animal friends. Warm kind staff. Got my kitten here what a joy! Please adopt here instead of going to a puppy mill and donate if you can. The animals need us.

The staff is extremely kind but... there is a large BUT.... their process for a dog states not to show up until their open.... yet they allow people to camp out in front of their property (before they open) and then give them first dibs on the dogs.... how can you tell people not show up until you're open but then allow people who've camped out to have first dibs on a pet. I was so excited that I was approved and was ready to see one of their dogs... only to find out that despite me getting their as they just opened... a family had camped out since the early morning... and they got the dog that I applied for..... this is a faulty process and needs to be fixed.... don't tell people to not show up until your open, only to allow people who've camped out to get first dibs. Not appropriate. Not fair.

When I saw this baby on the Hope For Life Rescue page, I had that gut feeling & we headed over immediately. When we said hello, he instantly jumped into my lap & fell asleep like he was finally home. I'm so grateful to be his mama. The staff at Hope For Life really cares about helping the pets find the right home. We will come back for furbaby #3!

I filled out a job application. I put in my two weeks notice at work. So I’m still working and looking for a job also. Pauline wasn’t willing to try to work with me and my schedule. Every time or day I gave her she blew me off. Just how she sounded and the way she said it, very rude. Not professional. I’m glad I found out now before I got the job and from what other people have said, I’m not missing out.

This rescue center is a true gem in the animal community. They have helped enhance the lives of countless cats and dogs. They ensure each animal is given the care they need and the opportunity to have a better life. The staff are extremely nice and helpful in the adoption process and it is quick and easy. All we did was fill out an application online before hand and came in once we were approved to pick out our cat. It was a very heart warming experience and we were happy to support the organization!

We had a great experience at Hope For Life. Upon filling out an initial application to adopt, we received a response stating that our application was accepted within 72 hours. We also received a very timely response to our Facebook message requesting an appointment to see a new puppy they had received. They honored the appointment time and we were in and out quickly after meeting our new forever puppy. We loved the whole experience and highly recommend Hope For Life to anyone considering adoption!
