I want to warn everyone about this Veterinary Hospital and it’s owner. I have filed a formal complaint with the Board of Veterinary Medicine. I called for prescription refills for my dog. I asked for a 90-day supply. When I picked it up, it was much more expensive than it typically was. When I arrived home, I realized that they had given me a 180 day supply. They admitted to the error but insisted that I drive back, from Greenbrier, a thirty minute drive, to return it before giving me a refund. I said, it wasn’t my mistake and I would like to be refunded immediately. They refused. The owner called angry at me and refused the refund too. This is consumer exploitation. Find a better Vet your animals!!!

I love Beach Pet and have told all of my friends to bring their pets here. They are so caring and kind with my dog who is a nervous wreck coming in the doors. I really feel like they genuinely care about her and they do everything they can to make her comfortable with so much positive reinforcement. I’ve seen so many different docs and associates here, and really have had a pleasant experience with everybody. Mary Katherine has been helping with her re-conditioning training for her nails and is so beyond sweet with Ellie. Again, 10/10 recommend this practice due to the staff.

I had a standing appointment for a well check for my new rescue kitten at 4:30pm one Friday. I waited for about 30 minutes before inquiring how much longer I had to wait. The receptionist said they had a few emergency visits that day and were running behind. Why I wasn't told this when I checked in (or called prior to my visit) so I could make a decision if I wanted to wait or not is beyond me. At 5:15 I checked again with no change. Having plans that night at 6:00, I finally left at 5:30 without seeing the vet. I contacted the office via their website about this and never heard a word back from anyone. Needless to say, I now have an awesome vet at another practice I am very happy with.

A big shout out to everyone at Beach Pet! They saw my sick little baby today and took such good care of him. He is feeling better already! Thank you all for your kindness, compassion and great care!

Leilani at the front desk was an absolute angel when I came in earlier today. She was extremely courteous and kind even when I had missed my appointment by an entire hour. Not only that, she was able to find me an appointment a couple weeks out. I've been taking my cranky little feline here for nearly 3 years now and everytime has been nothing but an excellent experience.

Excellent care for my dogs and great service.

I would give 6 stars if I could. My husband and I recently added a new puppy to our household, and within days, had a major medical crisis on our hands. Our puppy had serious medical issues that were not detected by the breeder (or the breeder's vet), including significant neurological symptoms, a UTI, bladder stones, contracted tendons, and (as Beach Pet discovered) a liver shunt. We've used Beach Pet for routine medical care for our other dog and have always been very pleased, but in this crisis, they went above and beyond. The vets provided excellent medical care and an accurate diagnosis of the primary underlying condition immediately. They respond promptly to messages with urgent concerns, and although our puppy has a long road ahead of him as he gets better, it has made such a huge difference knowing that we have a stellar team of medical professionals providing him with the best possible care-- he will need surgery to repair his liver when he is older, but in the meantime, his symptoms have been all but eliminated under their prescribed regimen. Our pup's care is primarily managed by Dr. Lawrence and Dr. Upchurch, both of whom have made an incredibly difficult situation much easier to cope with. If you are looking for consummate professionals who genuinely care about your pet's wellbeing, this is the veterinary practice for you.

I don't write reviews unless the service is really bad or really good. Like most pet owners, we have visited different vets over the last 20 years, depending on where we live at the time. We have been looking for a permanent veterinarian since we moved here a little more than a year ago. Our visit to Beach Pet was the best ever. Both the tech and the doctor were exceptional. Patient, great with our rescue dog and actually had a conversation with us that provided excellent information covering everything from inoculations and meds to weight management and exercise. Zero upselling or pushing one product over another, just the upside/downside of each and some background on why somethings work in this climate and some don't. A+

Wow. Just Wow. Beach Pet blew me away with the way they cared for my cat. He became very ill very fast and I was unable to get answers from another vet hospital that I had been going to for many years with all my babies. I found out in 3 hours what I needed to know, after 2 weeks with no answers from the other vet. Everyone I spent time with at Beach Pet clearly loves animals AND their job. Dr. Upchurch explained things to me in a manner that I could easily understand - even though I was a complete and total emotional mess. I am a fan and recommend Beach Pet to everyone now.

This place does not actually care about animals. They told me they would see my cat and then changed their mind because they didn't feel it would be worthwhile for them financially. I have an 8 month old baby and can't wait for hours in emergency because I have no family to watch him and they said they had room on their schedule to see my cat today but decided not to. Unbelievable. I wouldn't trust these people to actually care.

This vet just charged me $350 for a blood test and some other very minor things they advised me that they would be getting back with me the following day with her results here it is a week and a half later and no one has bothered to call me so I called this morning and immediately got hung up on.. what did I get for my $350 absolutely nothing.. a year and a half ago they took us into a bereavement room and gave this same dog that I took a week and a half ago a terminal diagnosis giving her weeks to live telling me that she was all ate up inside this vet put me through a lot of grief and the dog is doing very well. But their prices for the service that they provide is not. And there is no service for the money that I've spent. UPDATE : they sent me a divorce package in the mail lol good ridence take some business courses with customer service lession and by all means don't skip the charm school

Sometimes I feel I am paying a premium but their personality and bedside manner has kept me coming back.

They are there. Perfunctory work is done. Little extra in communication is their default. It's so close to me but I may look for a new vet.

Beach Pet Hospital has a great and caring staff

I have been a pet owner patient of Beach Pet hospital since 2004. This group of vets & vet techs are the most loving, supportive, and thorough professionals in animal care. I am writing a review today because I had to bring my cat over during the Pandemic and I just want to praise how incredible their team was in taking care of her, their process, and still answering all of my pet parent anxiety questions. My appointment has taken just shy of an hour, but I know my girl is in good hands, loved and cared for, and we have a plan of action moving forward. Special shout out to Gabby & Dr.Bell for making time for their patients and still being so kind when I know they have such a stressful schedule due to safety concerns. Really incredible team here folks, and where I will recommend anyone to go!

This veterinary office is THE BEST!!! I have been taking my pet to this office for the last 3 years. They are so kind and I am never afraid to take my dog here. The doctors are thorough and explain the situation very clearly to you so you understand what is wrong with your pet. ALL of the associates at this office have EXCELLENT customer service skills. Their compassion shines through whether they are on the phone with you or coming to pick up your pet from the car. PERFECT! PERFECT! PERFECT! You will not want to go anywhere else.

I’m not sure what’s happening here lately but in the past, we’ve received wonderful care and attention. The vets & techs have been accommodating and kind and reassuring until our most recent visit. There are several “OG” doctors that we love and that KNOW our pets (mine & my parents’) and therefore, this review is NOT about them. It is however, about the hostile interaction on the phones recently and in person when dropping off my dog. The receptionists seem to have attitudes ALL the time now? Its odd, especially when I’m calling concerned about my dog. I called today as soon as they opened to explain an emergency situation that I was dealing with for myself AND required an appointment asap for an emergency situation my dog was dealing with! My dog woke up with her eyes glued shut from eye goop and the poor thing was squinting and trying to use her paws to get it out of her eyes. I called to say I had my own emergency appointment but needed to get my dog and asked if there was any way, based on the OBVIOUS condition of her eyes that I could swing by for an antibiotic. They said no, because the eyes are sensitive which I understand however when I explained I couldn't make the 10am or 11am appointments, due to MY own appointment, I was told I could “come in at 3 but you’ll have to wait because we’d be fitting you in.” Again, I understand that and was grateful to be seen had the way I been told not come out so inconvenient to whatever this receptionist had planned for the day. I was also told “dogs don’t GET pink eye so its not that.” Uh..ok? Then when I got the call from the vet (one we have NOT seen before) she also seemed to think that my dog’s eyes “aren’t that bad.” *Glued together with eye goop so tightly that was frantically using her paws to try to open them** Alrighty. Was also told whatever she has wouldn’t pass to other dogs. Come to find out the two dogs MY dog played with this weekend now have the same eye issues. I almost want to go back and ask for the specific doctor’s we’ve seen before.

Beach Pet Hospital has always been so amazing with all of my dogs. So when we added a 8 week Rottweiler to our pack, I knew I wanted the best vets looking after her. Their staff is incredibly friendly and attentive. They are busy so have some patience, but I wouldn't go anywhere else. We drive all the from Oceanview to see them. Thank you!

The tech was very nice to me and my cat. Considering their covid policy of waiting in the car, my cat was brought out quickly, even before the bill was done.

Great vets. I've been a client for decades and never had an issue with them. Recently took a guinea pig in to get treated and they took excellent care of him. Best vets around.
