Whiskers Resort Lihue, Hawaii

Unfortunately, according to the gentleman I spoke with recently, they are closed until further notice despite the gate saying "by appointment only". I was told that there wasn't enough customers to sustain the operating costs to remain open due to covid-19. So, I'm under the impression that they are closed until further notice. Perhaps they will reopen once this whole covid-19 thing is over but if you are planning on boarding your animal I'd be sure to call ahead of your scheduled event to ensure they are going to be open/available to tend to your furry baby because to the best of my knowledge they are one of a few if not the only animal daycare and boarding facilities on island aside from a few vets that will board animals for certain circumstances. So to be safe plan ahead. Hope this helps. Aloha!

BB my POM loved being here and his grooming was excellent

Beautiful setting run by beautiful souls who truly care. We boarded our cats and had to extend their stay which was kindly accommodated. I showed up late and they were still so kind. After I went back to my car I realized i had a flat (it was definitely one of those days). An employee graciously offered to help and changed my tire for me. My cats usually hide for days after coming home from this sort of thing but not this time. They aren't phased a bit and are their sweet snuggly playful selves. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

We left our two dogs there for four days asked them to keep both dogs together they did not. When we took them home we notice our dog was very lethargic and and walking with a limp. As soon as they came in they went straight for there water bowls and drank all of it. The large dog was burning hot had a red nose and his eyes were full eye mucus. His paws looked raw and had a cut on his leg. We monitored him for 24 hrs with a lot of water before he was acting normal again. If you love your pet I would not recommend this place. We feel our pets were neglected...

Due to my busy schedule when I was living in Hawaii, I always came back home late and sometimes travelled to far places for business meeting. I do not like leaving my dog Sasha, all alone at home because of my busy schedule. I was introduced to Whiskers Resort by a female colleague of mine. During the weekend, I took Sasha along with me to their camp just to have an experience of their day care facilities, because I wouldn’t want to drop her in a place where she is not happy. When I got to their center, I was really impressed with their facilities and their boarding center. I could see she was loving her new environment, because she was already making new friends. Since then and until I left the city, I always drop Sasha at Whiskers Resort and they really took care of her.

That one star is actually a zero. The groomer is great but I will not go again for boarding. Just lost a regular client because of their lack of care and poor customer service.

The staff at Whiskers often loves our dogs more than we do! Everyone remembers them by name, they take extra special care EVERY time our dogs are there, and they provide an invaluable service. We have two dogs, one of whom cannot be left for any length of time without being crated or getting into trouble. We always know that doggie daycare at Whiskers will provide an outlet for energy to be run-off and that care will be taken. When we are away from home, we feel safe with our dogs at Whiskers. It's worth the drive! (Punch cards are the way to save time and money on daycare, plus it's a commitment to your dog to get more exercise.)
