Still not allowing people in. They are come out to get info and pet, then the Dr calls you with diagnosis. So they are keeping social contact to a minimum. They used to offer senior discounts, but no longer since Covid hit. Miss that a lot, as I lost my job during Covid and only have SS. The parking lot is very tiny that is shared with 6 other businesses. Besides the loss of the discount that's my only complaint. Sometimes there is street parking and I have parked in the Foodland lot across the street. But parking in Kailua sucks anyway.

They are all about the money. Be prepared to pay for an office visit every time even when they already know what is wrong with your pet. We have spent thousands of dollars at this place. We went to them for our dog four months ago and we had to go back every two weeks because his skin wasn't getting better. They charged for an office visit every time because it is their "policy" but clearly didn't give him the correct diagnosis so we had to pay for an office visit AGAIN and AGAIN. Our dog has really bad allergies and has to get an allergy shot or else he gets really bad hot spots, so we had to take him in today and get him a shot and they wouldn't give him antibiotics for his hot spot without charging us an office visit to do an exam when they clearly already knew what is wrong with his skin. This was the last straw. They really care more about money then the actual pet. Just read the reviews below, you'll see.

Great response getting our two cats in same day after a long hiatus from checkups during the pandemic!

Been taking our animals here for over 20 yrs (Dr. Haddick). The service has really changed. The first "red flag" is when they wanted to charge me $5 per pill (tranquilizer); 2nd "red flag" many of the doctors have left; and 3rd, ask for a prescription refill (Apoquel); however, a refill would not be allowed unless an appointment is made - my dog goes every year for annual exams. "I don't even go the Dr. that often and I'm 60 yrs. old." If she wants to be a "godzillionaire," should of been a financial engineer working on Wall Street not a Vet working in Hawaii. "Bye Bye."

It's all about the money! Ever since dr. Haddock retired this place has changed for the worst. Poor service and if ur animal is in need of surgery forget it go to VCA! Vets need to uphold their oath to protect and provide life saving procedures which they haven't done so. Like I said, money is the main objective at Kailua animal clinic they put on a nice front no transparency whatsoever and lacking communication as well.

What a great experience. After years of going to another vet in Kailua we got tired of long waits to get an appointment, never seeing the same doctor and overpriced services and meds. We switched to Kailua Animal Clinic and good fortune gave us Dr Sara. We’ve been there for eye infections, ear infections and a torn ccl ( like an ACL in humans) for our 14 year old lab. They are prompt and responsive, usually getting an appointment the same or next day, the prices are great and Rx cost is a fraction of the other place. I can’t say enough good things, only wish we found Dr Sara sooner. Even our dog loves her

Never had a bad experience here. My baby is very nervous about visits and they’re always understanding, gentle, and respectful of her. Email coupons are nice too. Doctor Ryan Casuga is at another practice now and we loved him but trust the Clinic from our history with them.

This animal clinic has been taking care of our pup for about 2 years. The front staff has always been nice, the doctors have been professional and informative. When diagnosing our dog’s thyroid disease, they understandably initially diagnosed allergies given her skin manifestations, but notably there was not a lot of questioning of the diagnosis when initial treatments didn’t work, and it was our suggestion of thyroid issues based on her depressive symptoms and weight gain that led to initial diagnosis. Care was nearly always presented as “this is what must be done” even though there were options, and there were often requests to perform tests when they were unnecessary and expensive. Recently, we requested a certificate for travel. We called ahead and requested a copy of her records as well as ensured that they were able to provide the certificate of health and letter of acclimation. They said of course - but on arrival, it was as if we had never communicated this, because they were completely unprepared. They stated we would likely need to come back for our copy of the records, and the initial draft of the letter did not have the requirements provided in the sample. Then, they repeatedly pushed back that those items were not necessary, despite being requested by our agency and minor in nature (a license number and the dogs chip number). They took so long with multiple back-and-forth requests for the letter to meet the requirements in the sample that they were able to provide the copied records. Finally, after 70 minutes, they called us (COVID) from outside and told us the Vet’s signature would take another half hour because they were with the next animal. This consultation for health was $60, the certificate, another $80, and we will need to return to retrieve the paperwork. While I recognize that these forms aren’t completed all of the time and are an administrative burden, they are formulaic and cost $10 prior to travel to HI.

I've always had great experience with Kailua Animal Clinic even during the pandemic where only your pets are allowed inside but the doctor gives great phone consultations. You can also communicate through email and send pics to determine if necessary to come in right away or can wait. For check ups and vaccinations I don't mind waiting few days to get the doctor I like since she is always booked. For acute care you get whoever is available or go somewhere else.

I am so thankful that I took my dog here because the doctor here diagnosed her with allergies that caused redness between her toes and under her paws. The doctor suggested to either give her a shot or take pills to help with her allergies. I chose to give her the shot and it had a dramatic effect on her overall health and energy. In just one day, she is a lot more lively, is jumping all over the place, and looks a lot happier than before! I took her in for a Heartworm test and walked out with a 6-month supply (1 free dose which makes it 7 months), a vaccine shot that she’s supposed to have every year (we missed her first year one) after the initial vaccination we gave her as a puppy, antibiotics for a rash that built up under her neck from her collar being wet for extended periods of time (I was already treating the rash but I didn’t know she needed antibiotics) and her allergy shot. I am so thankful that they correctly identified my dog’s health issues and as much as I understand how her bad health issues is a direct result of my negligence and ignorance as a dog owner, I was never judged and they never once made me feel bad for being a terrible dog owner. Instead, they focused on my dog and also educated me on what I need to do for her going forward! I also did not know the devastating effects a wet collar could have and now that they educated me on that I do! Kailua Pet Clinic, thank you so much for doing what you do!
