Against all odds Dr. Lei saved my dogs life. Late on the evening of July 3rd I let my dogs out if the truck after a long drive. While running around the farm one dog knocked over a cattle panel I had been using to make a gate onto my youngest dog. One of the prongs from the panel punctured his chest clear through to his lung. I've been to Roadside rescues, starving hunting dogs, and the elderly pets of my elderly friends have had me at just about every vet on the Hilo side in the last 20 years. None of these vets had the courtesy to return my calls. Having been off island working for several years I hadn't known Dr. Lei's practice had moved. I was so thankful when she called. Upon arriving she let me know that his prognosis was very grim but she assured me she'd do her best. It's was nearly dawn when her office called to let me know he'd survived the surgery. I'm guessing she worked on him for four or more hours. It's been 7 months since the surgery and our little man is doing fabulously. I cannot express how thankful I am to Dr. Lei. I trust her more than I trust my cardiologist.

I waited 45 minutes to go in. I waited another 20 minutes to see the vet. And waited another 25 minutes for a test they said would take 10 minutes. I then had to wait again to check out. If you would like to be here for at least 2 hours and get mediocre service, come here!

Dr. Lei is so easy to work with and incredibly informative to the situations that may bring you to her clinic. It's always busy so you know she does a good job as for many people pets are their family. I've been coming for the last couple of months now and I can say with certainty i'm so happy we chose Dr. Lei as our veterinarian. She goes above and beyond what you ask and will call you even after house just to make sure you have peace of mind. Thank you Dr. Lei!

Violating numerous labor laws under the Civil Liberties Act and Americans with Disabilities Act. Forced overtime causes mistakes in the work. Emergency services and prescriptions are significantly marked up from standard pricing at Petco or Longs.

Love the doctor that overlooks this veterinary office.

This place has cars parking all over the road. Lama st is not a parking lot. You guys cant treat people if they get run over....... get it together people. Aloha vet doesn't do that to their patients.....

Our initial canine visit was scheduled within a very reasonable time when several other Veterinary local businesses in East Hawaii were not able to accommodate our urgency for various reasons. Our specific health issues were handled effectively and efficiently in a late afternoon on a busy Monday! We waited patiently... Mahalo Dr. Lei, DMV & staff! We look forward to seeing you again in our follow-up re-visit.

If Urgent Life Threatening Injury and Emergency Surgery needed. PLEASE GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. They were booked with regular clients and made our 10 yr old chihuahua who was attacked by a pitbull with severe open stomach wounds wait over an hour for surgery. He did not have the strength to survive the surgery.

It was our first visit to Island Vet. The staff was awesome. Dr Lei and her Tech was amazing with Lilly.

Unfortunately we have a pet emergency, and it's Sunday night. Island Veterinary's website indicates that they are a full service vet, offering emergency services. This is only the case if you are a current patient. Living in Hawaii, there are already limited services. Also living in Hawaii there is aloha when it comes to helping out others, especially when it comes to animals. To be told that because we are not a current patient the Doctor will not see us is not aloha, and for a Vet is sad. If you are looking for a Vet and are reading this, please consider choosing another.

Got us in same day for an ear infection and treated our boy with so much care. Very pleased with our experience

She's very attentive and does her best to ensure the best quality of life for pets like my dog that I finally had to let go, yesterday. They took very good care of our sick little shih tzu. One of the only walk-in vets on the island. Call first, same day appointments.

The facility is very clean. The staff was helpful and very nice. The veterinarian is really sweet she was very gentle during the exam of my cat.
