Had to put our Lab to sleep today and the entire staff including Dr Metts were wonderful. I have had to go through this with 4 other dogs in my life and they made this experience so much better than expected. We will never use any other veterinarian besides Dr Metts. Thank you again to her entire staff.

I don't feel like going into much detail, as I am heartbroken because my kitty is hurting the most from my experience here. I brought my kitty in, suspecting he had seriously hurt his leg. There were no appointments available, so we had to do a drop off. That was fine. The main problem is, they said they had contacted some orthopedic surgeons and had not heard back from them yet. However, they were very insistent about doing pre-op work on my kitty even though FPAH doesn't perform the type of surgery he needed. I waited a whole day to hear news about potential surgery, we even called them. They said the surgeons hadn't gotten back to them. So I called the surgeon the next day, and they said they had not received the x-rays from FPAH. We quickly got a consultation scheduled for the following day, with the surgery following after. I wish I had called the surgeon earlier, but I guess I trusted the word of my vet, when they had not even done what they said they were going to. My kitty has to suffer an extra day of pain just because of negligence. I initially chose this vet because of the good reviews, and thinking I was picking the best possible doctor for my kitties, but I have my regrets.

Dr. Metts and the staff at FPAH have been hands down the most positive experience we could have asked for. From 8 weeks old, Dr. Metts and team has provided Gus with the best care under any circumstance and has fully provided us with all information on costs/procedures possible. We really appreciate the positive atmosphere from all of the employees and I know they genuinely care about Gus.

Dr. Metts is very thorough, even with simple check-ups or common ailments. She also has a great kennel-side manner and puts both owners and pets at ease with genuine concern for their wellbeing. Additionally, the staff is responsive, kind, and competent. I've been to many vets in many cities, and this is the only one for which I've felt compelled to write a review.

Dr. Holly Metz is wonderful, thorough, and completely accessible. Her care of pets is unsurpassed, and Dr Holly has the most amazing staff, great follow up, and they really care for about the pets we bring in, and treat them as family.

Update: This one star review IS NOT for the visiting dentist Dr. Charra—she’s actually very awesome. It’s for Dr. Metts—Forsyth Park Animal Hospital’s vet/owner. She acted more like a drug dealer instead of a vet that cares about your animal. (Just read all the negative reviews, which show a pattern of her behaviors and matched exactly what I experienced. All her responses to negative reviews are super defensive too--she's always right in making as much money as possible off your pet, and you're always wrong to question her, even if your doubt/question may be absolutely legitimate.) I’m looking at the $2000 surgery bill (the anesthesia charge by Dr. Metts is more than the dentist's procedure charge), and couldn’t fathom the reason why Dr. Metts wanted to prescribe three painkillers for post-surgery pain management. She wanted me to give my 12-pounds cat all the following three simultaneously : 1. Gabapentin for five days (on top of the 2 days before surgery); 2. Buprenorphine (an opioid) for 5 days; 3. Onsior for 3 days. I declined the Gabapentin, but still I think it’s absolutely overkill to have both Buprenorphine and Onsior. Onsior alone should be enough, not to mention the fact that she charged me five bottles of Buprenorphine but actually 3 will be enough for the amount needed. She has no concern about the side effects of Buprenorphine--she will prescribe anything to the maximum amount possible. Since I couldn't administrate the oral meds, I went back with all the sealed painkillers, asking if I could return them, get a refund, and I would bring the cat for an injection for pain relief. Dr. Metts came out saying based on pharmacy law, they can take the meds back but can't refund me. I respect the law, so I tried to ask about the exact law--she said "You can look it up yourself. I'm having a critical patient and can't argue with you." The funny part: She did leave the critical patient there, came out in person (which is rare--she didn't bother to call us back when we had questions before our cat's surgery), and had no problem spending several minutes to make sure her staff wouldn't make the mistake to refund me. Dr. Metts has no respect for your time either. I had to take my cat there twice for ECG before surgery, because they failed to collect the right data the first time. They charged me for 3 Onsior tablets, only gave me 2 (because they sold one to another patient), and I had to go back to get the 3rd pill. Honestly, she might be an okay vet as long as your credit card functions as well as she expects. My complaint here is less about the high price, but more about her unethical ways of dealing with the pets and their owners--all negative reviews of her and her facility share this commonality. --------------------------------------------------------------------- First of all, there's no doubt about its premium location, which means you can expect some premium price. The total estimate of my cat’s tooth extraction is about $3000 ($600 for various pre-surgery stuff and $2300 on the actual surgery day). Some of the items listed on the estimate, to say the least, requires some discussion. I was referred to Forsyth Park Animal Hospital by our regular vet. It is one of the few places in Savannah that have the visiting pet dental specialist. So far I have very mixed feelings about this place. I was a bit taken aback when I took my cat here for the first time. I was very clear about what I wanted: An evaluation of my cat by the dental specialist. Yet on that particular day somehow they seemed all ready to pull out his teeth without even meeting him, as long as I was willing to pay $2k on the spot. A bit too money driven, I guess. But the front person (I believe her name is Tess) is very professional attitude-wise. After spending around $600 for pre-surgery tests, I haven't had the chance to talk to the owner/vet Dr. Metts yet. Anyway, I will update this review after my cat's surgery is done. Hope it will go smoothly. Fingers crossed.

Dr. Metts and her staff are amazing! They are so nice to my sweet Hazel and take great care of her. They are always welcoming, kind, and explain things and costs clearly. I could not recommend at better vet in the Savannah area!

We found a kitten on the streets and we called them for advice on what to do. After they were so kind over the phone we decided to show up and see if they could take him for a general check up. And even though we didn't have an appointment they were super friendly and said they could squeeze us in. We were visiting from Atlanta so we waited for a few hours at the beach after dropping him off. They kept us updated and even stayed open an extra hour until they were able to see him and we were able to pick him up. We expected to pay a huge amount since it was so last minue, but they were super affordable, patient, kind and helpful. If I lived in Savannah I wouldn't hesitate to make this my cat's forever vet!

Dr. Metts, Lisa, Tuesday, and Tess have been the greatest vet staff. They helped me say goodbye to one, and have ensured my next 3 have had the best of care. Through FootGate 2018, iPhone chargers and everything in between, I know Freedom, Brave; and Honor will get the best of care. I know all my questions will be answered and payment options are always discussed. They truly have your pet’s best interest in mind, as well as yours.

Dr. Metts and her staff are very caring and attentive. They really care about the health and well-being of my pet and go above and beyond to make her feel comfortable. I like how they give you a run down of all procedures/vaccines etc ahead of time in case you have any questions or concerns about them or their costs. Very happy client!

I recently took my kitten here for a second opinion, as I did not like the service I was receiving at a different vet here in town. She was in critical condition and the bill was very high to get her treated and recovered in full, which my …

Dr. Metts and her staff have been nothing but gracious and kind to me and my pups. My husband and I moved to the downtown area a few months ago and Dr. Metts has made the new vet transition effortless. They adore my pups and put up with …

We were on vacation and while walking our dog Charlie in Forsyth park noticed he had an issue. We stopped in at the Forsyth Park Animal Hospital and fortunately they were able to see Charlie straight away. He needed some minor surgery which they did straight away. Dr Metts and her staff are great. They obviously care for your pet and explain all symptoms and necessary procedures thoroughly. I would highly recommend this clinic. It's too bad not all animal hospitals are of the same standard. Thanks again Alan and Charlie

Afraid we had a terrible experience here. Went for a simple rabies update for our kitty and after waiting 20 minutes, the doctor - who appears charming at first - turned into an intolerant lecturer and virtual drug dealer pushing additional …

Dr. Metts and her staff are AMAZING with both animals and people! We have been clients/patients of Dr. Metts for almost a decade and couldn't be happier with the care we have received during that time. She and her staff and knowledgeable and caring and always take the time to explain procedures and answer any questions/concerns. The facility at Forsyth Park Animal Hospital is always clean and very convenient with their dedicated parking behind the building.

Mr Haber's mean spirited and stupid review promoted me to write this. Dr Metts saved my dog Angel when she was about 2 years old. She is now almost 7 and doing well. The situation seemed hopeless and dire. Angel ate socks and got deathly …

From the moment we walked in the door we felt welcome and comfortable! Our furry kids got rock star treatment from start to finish. Dr Metts is so friendly and knowledgeable! She really took time to listen to our concerns and educate us on the proper recommendations from the most current veterinary standards. We didn't feel rushed by the staff at all. Everyone took time to get to know the needs of our pets and base the treatment plan on that and fully explain any costs of services. The location is so convenient, too! We took our dogs for a walk in Forsyth park right out of the clinic as their reward for their patience at the vet! This clinic is a gem in the heart of Savannah and we will happily be taking our pets back to Dr. Metts for ALL their medical needs!

Located in the lower section of a historic mansion, the Vet/Owner has transformed the space into a state of the art facility. Modern equipment combined with a knowledgeable and friendly staff sold me on this Veterinarian. A pleasant walk if you live in the historic district or parking in the rear of the building for those at would need to drive. AA++

Dr. Metts has been amazing with both of our dogs! She is kind, caring and has helped with chronic issues that other vets have been unable to solve and had previously recommended surgery for. We love the entire staff and the location and feel at home every time we visit!
