Buyer Beware! I started with VCA North Atlanta Hospital 15 to 20 years ago. The clinic was run by Dr. Lavendar and was not then affiliated with VCA. Because my 2nd dog was a rescue and I had no history on him, I invested in their Care Club plan. All I heard about was how much I'd save by going on the plan. Shame on me for not thoroughly reading every page of the contract. I was not aware that if my dog died after the annual contract started - that I would be responsible for the lesser of the remaining 11 months or for the services I had accrued. The annual physical bill looks good when you see how much the services would have cost with no contract. It never occurred to me that the prices would be jacked up a lot. I understand convenience fees, but this was a bit much. I compared the exact pills distributed by Blue Pearl Hospital (which is very expensive) and VCA - VCA's prices were quite a bit higher. The prescription dog food VCA put my dog on was 25% higher than Chewys. I am not going to get into the rudeness and disrespect from the office manager. When my beloved dog passed away last month - I did not hear a word of sympathy from the Veterinarians or the practice. And this is after I had been a client for many years. As I said earlier - buyer beware!

Trooper has gone to Dr Smail since he was three months old and he’s almost 9. They have been an amazing vet office and the only place I trust. The staff is always kind and helpful. My aunt takes her tripod Aussie, Watson here as well and my cousin has taking mr kitty. All of us feel they will provide the best care for the animals.

I can’t thank the staff at VCA North Atlanta enough for taking care of our pet this week. We called with an urgent situation as a new client and they were not only able to get us in but able to do so within two hours. Our girl got great care during her two night stay with them and we will be forever grateful. Thank you Aleecia, Dr. Kalany, and the rest of the VCA staff!

A great vet clinic that handles the pet with compassion and care. Allows owners in the clinic using appropriate CDC guidelines (temp checks, face masks, and had any recent contact with a positive person), so you can consult with the vet. Offers advice about pet treatment options using the latest treatments and ensures it's an affordable option for the owner. In short, a great vet clinic!

We have been bringing our pets here for nearly 7 years and have finally decided to take our business elsewhere. The quality of care/ customer service has severely declined. My wife brought our dog in last week for a scheduled appointment only to be told a) there was no record of said appointment b) they did not know our dog had been a patient there for 7 years. Especially now during Covid, when you cannot accompany your pet for their vaccines, you want to feel comfortable with those caring for your animals. It was appalling to know that they did not know my dog after being a customer for 7 years! In addition, they tried to charge us for treatments that were not even rendered for our pet. We will be taking our animals elsewhere moving forward.

The VCA of North Atlanta is an outstanding veterinarian hospital. They are so kind, helpful, and knowledgeable. I am a new dog owner and they have gone above and beyond to give me answers to all my questions and guide me in the best ways to care for little puppy. Dr. Kalany and Dr. Smail are wonderful and so are the front office staff. Both of my pets come to this location and we will always refer any friends with animals to this location as well. Thank you for everything VCA!

Interesting reading a couple recent reviews as I recent experienced the poor service mentioned by a few other people. Everyone in the office is actually great except for the office manager. Dr. Smail is the best, Keelan has great customer service and so do most of the other office staff that I’ve encountered. I’ve been bringing my dog here for several years and though I recently moved to Midtown, I continued to drive to Sandy Springs to see Dr. Smail. The treatment that I recently received from the office manager, Aleecia, has me questioning to take my business elsewhere. The only reason I’m questioning and haven’t done it yet is because of Dr. Smail. I’m telling you- Dr. Smail is amazing!! He always calls and texts after visits to check on my dog. I really appreciate the care and bedside manners from him. He gets all 5 stars but the 3 stars I’m giving this place is because of the office manager. After a miscommunication on vaccine fees from another office staff, the way Aleecia loudly expressed herself for 20 minutes that she “previously told me the vaccine fees over the phone so there should be no confusion” was highly unprofessional. I specifically asked her office staff the day prior to my visit to confirm if the fees in treatment plan that I received were going to be 50%, which the office staff confirmed that the vaccine fees on the treatment plan would be 50% off. According to Aleecia, I should have known that the prices on the treatment plan were 50% off- though it doesn’t state that anywhere on the plan. Regardless, as an office manager, Inwould have expected her to handle the situation differently. If Dr. Smail ever goes to another clinic, I will happily travel to have him as my dog’s vet.

The people here are super nice and the vet always follows up with me after a visit to check on my dog, Larry Bird!

SO expensive. Vet wanted to run test after test for a SUPER simple problem. She added things such as a $42 ear cleaner onto the bill without even asking if I was interested. FYI, my dogs ears has nothing to do with the reason for the visit. Ended up paying $400 for my dog having acid reflux. I would not recommend this vet. Very money hungry.

Absolutely terrible vet. Do NOT go here. Unorganized and don't even keep track of treatments that they have done on your dog. Unhelpful and rude staff.

Their was a Very Nice gentleman that was a Single father .Mr Robinson love his job . He was very dedicated & had a passion for pets . The doctors love him . He brought joy to Sandy Spring hospital Staff. When I heard that Mr Robinson was No longer there my heart was Crushed. Anytime I brought my Pups their to VCA hospital . My pups was always happy to see him. I've even Notice VCA still has his profile photo as if he's still working for VCA hospital. Which is false . If I can say to Mr Robinson . Spread your Wings God has an Another door open in the field you love the Most . Keep pushing & spread your horizon wings . Mr Robinson I thank you so much for taking good care of my pups . The staff here is amazing. From the top down. Thank you for taking tremendous care of my favorite four legged friends. More expensive, but I've happily paid for the superior support and peace of mind.

While this hospital was good initially, the standard has decreased over the past 2 years. I strongly recommend avoiding VCA North Atlanta unless you have an emergency and can't get an appointment at your usual vet. The front desk staff are rude. The vet techs are ok. The doctors don't seem to have a diagnosis ever; it's educated guesses at best. In my experience, they try to treat the symptoms instead of investigating the root cause; possibly due to their inferior diagnosis skills. They recommend expensive medication and procedures unnecessarily. Even the simplest annual physical exam is overpriced. Better quality of treatment is available at other hospitals nearby. Save your money and have peace of mind by taking your pet elsewhere

Hidden costs, price secrecy, too expensive....I didn't like. 02/22/2019 update: today we went to VCA for some vaccinations as we've already paid for 1-year plan and we're harassed for my first review. When the person complained we went online I couldn't even remember that I in fact did and I want to reinforce my review with one additional information. At the end of the day, was not about money! We simply went to another clinic because we don't trust you!

Place has gone downhill significantly. They tried to sell me 8 different things in the matter of 5 minutes. This place was like walking on to a used car lot. Will be leaving them after 5 years.

Scheduled an appointment for a simple nail trim for my dog. Arrived right on time. After waiting 30 minutes, I asked when I would be served. The girl behind the counter informed to that the groomer had gone to lunch and their tech would trim my dog’s nails. She cannot say when. When tech arrives, he takes the next patient for vet services. After 5 more minutes, I inform the girl that, after asking yet again on timing, that I passed several service providers on my way to their office that I could go to for a nail trim, and she says that’s fine. I told her I would not be back. I’ve been taking both of my dogs there for 8 years. Not anymore.

We’ve been clients for several years and the customer service of the front office staff has gone downhill. Dr. Small is fantastic and has taken great care of our dog. But it’s time to move on to another clinic.

Today, my interaction with the front desk staff was poor at best. It has become disconcerting that the simplest requests have gotten so garbled from reordering meds to boarding. Leaving the practice after 20+ years here

I want to thank VCA for always being so kind, proficient, and helpful. Vet Molly Kalany is super nice and knowledgable. I also feel comfortable knowing that she is taking care of my dog. Also, the staff at VCA are always very nice to me. My wife and I moved to Spain, and it's been so stressful. The requirements with relocating our dog has definitely added to the stress. VCA has helped us so much with the process and reducing the stress as much as possible. I truly want to thank them for all of the hard work and dedication that they have provided. Thanks VCA!!! Oh, almost forget, we've previously boarded our dog with VCA several times. We never have any concerns, because we know that VCA takes great care of our dog.

I took my dog, who suffers from heightened levels of anxiety, to the VCA in Sandy Springs after a recommendation from one of my friends. Although his anxiety was beyond present throughout our visit, the staff made sure that the job was done both kindly and professionally. New to the area, I'm happy to have found a staff that I can rely on. Thank you!!!
