Brought my cat in Saturday for respiratory issues. The Dr listened to his lungs and all and assumed it was bronchitis, gave him 2 shots and sent us home with antibiotics. He got worse and worse over the next 24 hrs. Today we took him to a different vet and he is being kept overnight for observations and might need surgery for a blockage/obstruction in airway. This is not a place I would recommend for a correct diagnosis.

I have several rescues and Dr. Caldwell and Dr. Sharp have taken care of them and the staff are wonderful. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

Couldn't control my puppy. I had to hold my puppy for a rabies shot.

He did surgery on my dog Nala at a very affordable price and the outcome was excellent. A plus.

one of the most positive emergency vet experiences i’ve had. dr sharp, the young blonde tech, and the receptionist/tech i think her name is sonya, were really nice. the dr is very knowledgeable and seemed to immediately know what was wrong with my cat, motel. i’m very thankful for the staff they probably saved her life. thank you guys for all that you do!! <3

I would rate zero stars if possible. I took my sick pup here as I didnt know what was wrong. The doc assured me it was just hookworms and my baby would be okay, and sent some medicine home with me. She died the next day from Parvo, not hookworms. How does a vet miss full blown parvo? And because she was misdiagnosed, two of my other dogs ended up with it. So I went to Auburn, and my process was longer, but definitely worth the wait to find the actual issue at hand. Thanks for nothing, and making me pay to watch my dog die from something the doc should've caught.

We were first-time visitors at Caldwell. Our dog Betsy is 9 months old and needed to be spayed, so we called and set up an appointment. When we picked Betsy up after her surgery, we discovered her nails had been clipped down to the nerve and her feet were caked in dried blood, with two of the nails still actively bleeding. Apparently a nail trim is a courtesy that is performed while the animal is still on the table, sedated. Dr. Sharp informed us he did not cut Betsy’s nails while she was still in surgery because she was his last one of the day. Instead, he admitted to cutting her nails in a dark kennel, where he couldn’t see what he was doing. Betsy was shaking and bleeding while still woozy, not knowing what was going on. We confronted Dr. Sharp about this and he apologized and packed her wounds, but also tried to appease us by saying it was a standard thing. He took little accountability for his actions, as we did not permit this. We signed a waiver authorizing him to sedate Betsy, not trim her nails down to the nerve and make her bleed. They moved her to a kennel to recover after her surgery and did nothing to care for her nails. It took us pointing it out and driving back to the clinic for them to take notice. We appreciate him providing a mild solution, but this should not have happened in the first place. It is borderline malpractice.

We have been taking all if our animals to this clinic for years. We have had dachshunds, great pyrenees, mixed, Scottish terrier, yorkshire terrier, Great Dane mix, beagle and all kinds of cats treated and/or boarded ar Caldwell's. They have been there for our animals in sickness and health, in life and death. Dr Caldwell has years of experience with large and small animals, pets and livestock. He is an Auburn University Veternarian School graduate. He has saved our dogs lifes from everything from pancreatitis to copperhead snake bite. Yes. I wholeheartedly would refer people snd their animals to him, as I have for my family and friends pets.

I've brought both dogs and cats here and have always had a good experience. The staff is friendly and caring. Dr. Caldwell and Dr. Harris are wonderful. They give the very best care to our animal family.

I have a friend who took her dog to this place. When she went to pick her up the dog was in OBVIOUS distress ( breathing problems ). She immediately took her to an emergency clinic ( Auburn ). The outcome was not good ( euthanasia ) . Is the staff there uneducated / untrained? Uncaring? Incapable? Even kennel personnel should be able to notice signs of distress. That is total incompetence. No excuse. I wouldn't take any living creature that this place. And of course Dr. Caldwell has not even called Ms. Nolish to offer any explanation or condolences.
