When you have relocated to a new state, choosing from a variety of medical facilities is tough! Our choice in choosing Gainesville Veterinary Hospital for our dog's medical needs has been all positive! Dr. Scott is very knowledgeable, professional and caring. He is patient enough, always, to address any concerns we may have. The staff is always friendly and professional as well. We have definitely found the best!

For annual visits that are straightforward the service provided is fine, but it is expensive. I’ve been to them for atleast 3 years for annual visits. However, for my most recent visit for a sick animal it’s been like pulling teeth to get additional help after the appointment despite Dr.Scott telling me I could call if the animal got worse. Calling for additional prescriptions took over 48 hours to finally get resolved. Return phone calls about worsening condition to get further recommendations took over 24, always next day. When I asked what was the turn around time for call backs and prescription requests I was told 24 hours, but it was always longer. And I was never notified the prescriptions were ready. I would have to call to find out. The front office staff left much to be desired. Amy came across as catty during several phone calls and demonstrated no sense of urgency or desire to help my animal or care that it’s conditioned was worsening and that I was worried. Amy said to me that “the doctors do not have time to just sit at their desk and write prescriptions or return phone calls” so it would be at least 24 hours. For someone who is worried about the declining state of their animal this was a very rude and insensitive thing to say. I would hate to assume the physicians here truly feel this way about attending to a sick animal but perhaps this clinic is just terribly overwhelmed. However, this isn’t good enough for me for a sick animal that ultimately is the one continuing to suffer during the delays. I won’t be returning to this clinic, even for annual visits. I’ll find an office with a more compassionate staff to take care of my animals.

I have used Vets for decades and none are as professional, caring, organized or competent as this group.

FRONT OFFICE IS RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL! I took both of my dogs boarding there and when I took them home one of my dogs had a UTI. I then called the doctors office and asked if they could prescribe her medication since she got the UTI while boarding there and was told I had to bring her back in (and pay office fees, etc, I'm sure). While I was explaining to them why I couldn't bring her back in, THE GIRL PUT ME ON HOLD WHILE I WAS SPEAKING and transferred me to another receptionist who then lied saying I was asked to be put on hold and got hung up on and BLOCKED from calling there. Eventually a supervisor called to fixed my issue but the two girls upfront were VERY rude and unprofessional. How could you run a buss like this?

The Doctors and staff are always very responsive and helpful. The Doctors also respond to voicemail requests. Dr. Scott was very compassionate when I had to put my dog of 15 yrs to sleep and also very welcoming when I bought a new puppy! I have been going to him for about seven years. I highly recommend his office and staff. Vickie Gassman.

I love the care and attention. I felt like the doctor and the nurses actually listened to me. They genuinely want to see what's best for the animal and aren't concerned with getting a bigger sale. As long as I am in the area, my dog will continue to go here. Thank you so much for being so wonderful with my furr-baby!!

Took my dog to get his yearly vaccinations and for a neutering here for the first time October 1st, 2021. My appointment was originally the 5th, but they were able to fit him in sooner. They gave me an estimate before any services were done. Everything went smoothly and we were able to shave him as well. I appreciate the professionalism and patience with the staff. Definitely would recommend and will be returning.

We have taken our cats & a couple gerbils here for care for the last 10-13yrs. We had tried almost all the other vets in the area since we moved here in 1996, and have settled on Gainesville Veterinary Hospital due to the veterinarians & staff. Dr Scott & Dr Brothers are friendly, caring, efficient, knowledgeable, explain things with simple terms, answer all your questions, & will recommend specialist or other outside testing if needed. The veterinary technicians are very friendly, caring, efficient, & handle cats very well. The front office staff is also friendly & quick to check you in & out. You may have a little wait until the vet sees your animal, but no too long. The only bad part is trying to get into the parking lot from Thompson Bridge Rd when coming from Green St. area.

Although I’m very happy that I took my kitten in to be looked at, I knew she had roundworms. I was honestly just wanting that to be treated. Little did I know I was going to be charged for Ear mite medicine, Albon, a physical exam, along with a leukemia test. I was honestly going to go to the Humane society and have them help me but they didn’t have any slots open until the beginning of August. with her issue, I didn’t want her to suffer So I just decided to stick with my appointment I made. I was told the day before that I could walk in and they would weigh her and give me antibiotics and the price would depend on how much she weighs… I go to that same day to take her in and there’s nobody by the name “sherry” there when i was called by their number & i was quoted “70-80 bucks” just for the shots. I was quoted $161 when I took her and then when I get to the counter i’m being charged $214 because she just nonchalantly “forgot” she did something else. I’m sorry but i’m not coming back to be charged $124 for vaccines. This was a huge rip off and i feel like i got robbed. I’m a single mom who’s expecting. and I really wanted my baby to be feeling better… not you add on everything that you can make your money.
