Awesome staff and amazing experience at lavista animal hospital for me and my dog. They treat your pet with care and you with respect. The staff was A1 and my dog was calm when he always is a bit neurotic but they made him feel loved. Love …

Best vet I've been too. You wait in the car until they come out to get you. Reasonable and upfront about costs. Very nice staff.

Our new six week old kitten got her first shots, diarrhea medicine, an all around check and in general wonderful loving care in this neighborhood hospital. They are very busy but didn't make us wait for long either. We'll be back.

Would be 5 stars but for two reasons it is not. For one, they are pricy but for your fur baby, anything. For two, they unknowingly billed me for something a day later after 2 separate charges and did not let me know. I had to call and get explanation or even notified that I was being charged or on what I was charged for and why wasn't charged on the first bill. That left a bad taste in my mouth. Other than that, I like how fast and professional the establishment is. They even have a pet portal for multiple reasons whether it's scheduling, history, or asking for help in an instant messaging system. That one major flaw is the reason I'm not sure if I'll return for services. I did not like or appreciate that at all.

Relative to other vets I've visited, they were more humane, looked harder for non-drastic treatments and cost less.

8/12/2021 I've taken my rating down from five stars to three, and NOT because the veterinary care is lacking. Please read the whole review. This is a complicated topic but basicly my cat became very ill in 2/10/2020. She had troble breathing, low oxygen and suffered lung damage. She now needs steroids and Albuterol three times a day. This has nothing to do with Livista Animal Hosptal. ???? My point is cats can become infected with Covid (if you aren't aware of this, then of course the Veterinarian should know). It was proven by another veterinary practice she was damaged by a Coronavirus. When I called Lavista Animal Hospital for kitty veterinary care (I've visited before) I was told there was no mask policy. The receptionist sounded confused about what a mask policy was and I had to explain it. I was shocked because obviously cats can't be vaccinated for Covid and varients. Many people and animals come and go from this hospital, and the viral load is possibly very high in there. It's a hospital and they don't require masks? In a hospital where animals are sick during a pandemic no masks are required. The Doctors and staff are supposed to protect the patients. They've always done a good job and I'm thankful for the care, but wouldn't visit right now. Maybe (?) they require masks at this time because the infection numbers are going up, but if so it's because they're protecting people and forgot about the animals. I called one month ago so I don't know current policy; maybe it's improved. A veterinary practice should consider animals can become ill and die from a virus that's been proven to infect them. Someone made the decision to create a vector hospital and that's very frightening.

I have come to this vet since 2002. The quality of care is very high, and they are very professional. Why only four stars? It is July 9, 2021. It felt like July 9, 2020. I was there today with my pet, and they are still doing covid protocols that add significantly to the amount of time required for a visit. The vaccine has been out since January 2021 and has been widely available since March 2021. These types of business practices need to change. This causes me today to have to not be with my pet during the visit… Not talk to the doctor… There is no personal touch. Even hospitals are allowing people in to visit their sick family and friends. It’s time to catch up. Businesses that don’t start to change practices are going to lose clientele.

My family needed shots for our dog, and our regular vet was unable to schedule us. LaVista Animal Hospital had us forward our records, and was immediately able to help us out. We received fast, reliable service but the vet also took the time to talk to us about out dog's current health status. Techs and front office staff went above and beyond! Thanks, LaVista Animal Hospital! Buddy appreciates you all!

I've been going to this vet since my first dog 20 years ago. I've never really had an issue with them and they're very good at what they do. Why the 4 stars then? It all comes down to time. Is your appointment at 2pm? You will probably SEE the actual vet at 2:30-3pm. This is preCOVID. I've never gone in and seen the vet at the appropriate time. I understand that there are other patients but when your dog is in pain and you have to wait 30+ minutes every time you go in WITH an appointment there's a problem. Now let's talk about COVID. They have switched to a "Call when you get here" model. This would work if you had 3 or more people answering the phones but when it's 1 person (or atleast it feels like that) it's a competition to see who gets the answer first. I came in during their walk in times and sat there for 10 minutes trying to get them to answer the phone. It was so bad that people that came in AFTER me were able to be seen before us because they won the phone lottery (and I saw these people park, play the phone game with me, and then win). That's not including the people calling from their houses and people paying their vet bills over the phone. This is so incredibly frustrating that it makes me think twice about coming here until this is resolved. The only reason I will still go, however, is because they staff is amazing. They are all incredibly kind and understanding of your dog's needs. The actual veterinarians that work there are also very nice. Just be prepared to wait, and sometimes a long time. I wouldn't recommend them for emergencies but if you can wait a week for an appointment then they are the best vets you can use. Also, they are more expensive than other vets we've been to so keep that in mind as well.

After COVID it's almost impossible to get a walk in appointment at Banfield, where i've been quite happy. My dog just cut her paw and has had extensive swelling. I called a number of Banfield hospitals, and no one had a walk in available. I decided to call Lavista animal hospital, who is around the corner from me, and they took her in immediately and fixed her up :). Thank you again!

Covid has added a bit of time in general for a lot of business, but I truly appreciate them for taking precautions. Love this place for my Pom. He’s a senior, and they always give me the best advice for him and let me know when I’m doing right as a pet parent.

They came highly recommend, we used to take our 2 dogs and cat. I have had many, many issues with this vet but because we have an older dog who has health problems we stayed. Then our cat went to get fixed and the bill was over $500! To get a cat spayed!!! And that wasn't the only issue with this appointment, when the appointment was made we were never informed our cat would have to stay overnight, it wasn't until the day I dropped her off. They gave no reason for the huge bill except that they gave excellent care, which is a lie. They came recommended by my fiancé's parents and they were also shocked by the bill and have stopped going to this vet too. They have noticed the prices increasing for their normal visit with no explanation. All the stars in the google review are kinda shocking because I have never had a good experience here, never. I have always left upset and treated very poorly. I would like to think that since I have always had at the very least one pet growing up, as an Army brat too, that I know there are better vets out there and we don't have to settle. Just if you continue with this vet be warned they are very expensive and do not care about you or your pet.

We have taken our pets to LaVista Animal Hospital since 1996 and the care has always been first class. They only recommend what is best for the animal and never try to push anything unnecessary. They have saved our pet's life more than once and we trust them completely.

My regular Vet had to temporarily close due to Covid. I called ahead, explained the situation and with just 45 mins. before their scheduled closing agreed to see my pet. I was very pleased with their service and communication.

This is my second time coming to this location. They very nice and patient when I asked a million and one questions. Today I am getting my dog teeth clean so I will see how that goes. So far everything is going good.

My dog has had three vets, and we will never change again now that we have found LaVista. The doctors are always very thorough, honest and kind. Their staff is excellent - and they have been carefully observing COVID 19 safety precautions.

Excellent curbside service. I am a new pet owner and Dr. Phillips made me feel so at ease while in a nerve-wracking situation. He answered all my questions with care and was very informative. So happy I found this animal hospital!
