I started taking my my puppies to VCA back in May. They’ve been great up until a few days ago. I had my puppies scheduled to come in they called me same day just a hour before my appointment to cancel do to the doctor having a “emergency”. My puppies are on the pet care club & my last payment I called & advise I would be making it FRIDAY do to my payment schedule being changed. Was told that would be fine. My appointment was rescheduled BY THEM to the day before the Friday I said I would be paying it. They told me ONCE I got here that I had to pay or reschedule they’re appointment. So I had to pay it because I wasn’t going to drive 30min back home for no reason. I understand that they have rules but I called & advise of when the payment would be made & no one said that I couldn’t come to my appointment or that it needs to be rescheduled until it is paid. I would of understood that. But for Dr Cleland to basically say screw what you got going on & waste my time if I didn’t pay was a slap in face. ESPECIALLY since I NEVER been late or had a bill with them! I won’t be coming back!

This place used to be great before it became corporate VCA. The prices have become way too high, and the service has gone down. Seems they have to follow the VCA rules, even it it doesn't quite apply to your personal situation, so you end up paying a lot for services you may not need. Such a shame it's no longer Briarcliff, I am on the hunt for a new veterinarian. Edit: I recently needed to go take my pets in, I hadn't found a good replacement, so I came back. I actually had fairly good service. Changing my rating from 2 to 3 stars, it's hard to find a good veterinarian in the area. Well another update (again). Still had issues, they lost my pets blood work, so I'll have to take her back in, which isn't helpful as she's nervous of going in. They also said they didn't receive records sent over by a specialist, I had been copied on the emails, and saw they were too, must be very disorganized. Will only take my pet here if absolutely necessary.

They took great care of my old dog for years. After she passed and I got a new puppy, I decided to try a different vet - these docs are great, but I like to support local businesses over corporate chains when I can. That lasted until my puppy started to have an unusual health problem around 7 months of age. The other vet didn't seem to really listen to me and seemed to have decided it was a behavioral issue rather than a medical issue. So I came back to this clinic for a second opinion. It turns out she had giardia, which the other vet didn't even bother to test for. I also really appreciated that they've found a way to manage spacing people out for covid safety but allowing people who will wear a mask to come inside - the vet talked me through everything she was checking as she examined my puppy. They did a good job of explaining things over the phone when they had stricter covid precautions in place, but I always feel like questions come up during the exam that I forget to ask if I'm not there for the whole thing. I will be sticking with this clinic from now on!

I Did not like my experience here, I’ve been here 3 times. The techs were not pleasant and the front desk ladies do not greet upon entry. I do not recommend this place.

They've taken great care of both of our dogs since we've moved here. The staff have always been kind and attentive and their vets are knowledgeable and have listened to our concerns and been very caring with our pups.

The staff could be a little less stuck -up. I always feel like they think I'm inferior. But that being said, their services are great. I just feel a bit uncomfortable when I have to conduct biz there

I am a repeat client with VCA College Park. My cat was very sick I brought her there for care April 2021, at that time I was informed my cat had a terminal illness. They recommended that she be put to sleep that day. Totally distraught I decided to take her home where she passed away that evening. I took her remains for cremation to another vet hospital that was closer because at that time of day VCA College Pk was closed. VCA never called me to find out how my cat was or to find out any updates on her. Pets are our family. Losing them is like losing a family member. How insensitive of VCA not to even call to follow up! SO VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!! Very poor customer relations. Never will return again! ????

We have four ex-stray cats who've come with numerous problems such as giardia and dental lesions, but VCA have been great with us (we've seen both Dr. Cleland and Dr. Freihaut and both are great). What prompted me to leave this review was that we've mostly dealt with Dr. Freihaut, who is amazing and communicative, always patient and answers all my questions. Yesterday, Dr. Cleland, who we're a little less familiar with, performed oral surgery on our cat Cal. It was supposed to be a pretty routine cleaning, but we opted to have x-rays done and they showed lesions that meant he needed multiple teeth extracted. Dr. Cleland called me and asked if we wanted it done there and then—I said of course (if it was causing him pain, we'd never say no) but did have a little dread about the bill. It actually didn't end up being much more than our original quote for the cleaning. VCA are, of course, pricier than low cost clinics but they've always done a great job with our cats and I don't think I've ever found an invoice unreasonable. We had Cal back at 4pm and Dr. Cleland did a great job. He's a little worse for wear today, which is completely understandable after what he's been through, but we've persuaded him to eat a little and managed to give him his painkiller. Our four cats are also now giardia free as per the last stool sample, though it certainly took some hard work! Thank you, VCA College Park. :)

Had a health check for my dog was told he was perfectly healthy changed his features and tick prevention and within a month my dog was dead the vets treatment was for infection and possibly cancer over 1100 dollars with no improvement and they kept trying to get me to put him down even tho they could not diagnose the disease. To add insult to injury they sent me a text today for a checkup this place will murder your pet and charge you a fortune for it avoid at all costs.

I'm so sorry that I posted a bad review. I hope whoever read it will read this. They are really great and they really care very much for the pets and their people. I was having a hard time getting my Daisy's heartworm meds but it was not the fault of the clinic. Please forgive my harsh words♡

Not enough stars to rate their excellence. I Can't say enough good things about this clinic. Dr. Cleland gave my puppy her eight week checkup five years ago and we've been clients ever since. The office staff are friendly and courteous. The techs are prompt and professional. The Vets are transparent and knowledgeable, and it's clear they share a collective passion for what they do.

I called for an appointment and was told $69 for heart worm test for my dog. I ended up with a $200 bill. They charged for for a physical and other services. I did not authorize.

I had a very sick baby Luke who had to be put to sleep. Everyone there was so very sweet and care for Luke plus care about what I was going though. I also got a card with everyone signing it with their love to us. Thank you everyone.

A double wow from me. Being new to the area I was concerned about finding a new Vet. I had visited another vet to make an appointment and the front desk receptionist was so rude that I left never to take or board my little ???? there. Not so at Briarcliff...Everyone from receptionist, technician to the vet were so nice, professional & competent that I have decided to make Briarcliff my ???? new vet. I highly recommend you won't be disappointed!

BEST veterinary clinic I’ve ever been to in the 11 years I’ve had a fur baby. If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a million times - we are so lucky we stumbled across this little clinic in College Park. They have been with us through the best and the worst times of our lives and we couldn’t imagine anyone else being a part of our family. Our three big dogs have loved every staff member at VCA College Park Animal Hospital! 20 Stars out of 10. 5 thumbs up out of 2. Always exceeds our expectations!
