The must not have children cuz she was extremely rude and short with me about my son who was 1 at the time. There were no other customers in the lobby and my son just walked around the lobby exploring and she had a major problem with him simply being a kid. It wasn't like he was touching stuff or making a mess. He was just walking around. The receptionist was kind enough to give him some paper and a pen to draw on and the doctor still had an attitude with his presence. It took everything in me not to snap at her. You couldn't pay me to go back here. I'd give it no stars if I could

High high high prices. But Dr. Is nice and knowledgeable. So if you have the money to pay for the expertise this could be the place for you. But there is a mark up on any medications. I suggest getting the script filled from another location.

If you value your pet and your purse, find another solution. This doctor has no idea what she is doing and is after money. She does not treat cherry eye in dogs and is no good at diagnosing the simplest of ailments. If something isn’t going correctly, she blames your pet. Always puts the blame on you. Go somewhere else. Read ALL of her reviews, not just the ones you can skim on Google. You have been warned. I learned the hard way.

Super friendly professional staff and doctor. The office needs a facelift but don’t let the facade and faded mauve blinds lead you to believe that your pet won’t get the royal treatment! Great experience!

Had to wait but worth it. Dr. Gail Powell-Johnson gave my dog a thorough eye exam and found the reason my dog's eyes were weeping so much fluid. No surgery needed and I was told what to do for her and given some eye drops that seem to be helping. I was very impressed with the whole experience and staff. Highly recommend!

Dr. Powell and her staff are the best and we love taking our blind chihuahua to her eye clinic. They are also extremely precautious about COVID and make you feel more at ease than most places. It also helps that Dr. Powell has her boxer up there with her bc she is absolutely adorable

Dr Powell is THE BEST. I've been bringing my sweet cat Penny here for several years due to tear duct and cornea damage as a kitten, and feel safe knowing that she's under great supervision. Dr Powell is so knowledgeable and kind, her staff is always friendly and I feel that Penny's recovery and maintenance is due to the great team at Atlanta Veterinary Eye Clinic ????️

I found my cat in the middle of the road, in the middle of the night 7 years ago. Blind from birth, Dr. Gail has shepherded my cat and even me, as his guardian, throughout the last 7 seven years. Dr. Gail recommended new therapies that have …

GAIL POWELL-JOHNSON, DVM Minx, cockatiel 15 years old Date of appointment: May 13, 2016 I have NEVER BEEN TREATED SO UNPROFESSIONALLY BY SOMEONE WHO CALLS THEMSELF A SPECIALIST! She was RUDE, LOUD, OBNOXIOUS, and UNKNOWLEDGEABLE in her field. She seemed to love to hear herself talk but demonstrated neither communication skills nor a desire to listen or engage in normal conversation with a paying pet owner. At the end of a very awkward and confusing appointment and paying an unreasonable amount of money, I had no more information regarding my pet’s condition and no management plan for his care. I conclude Dr. Powell’s treatment and summary were biased based upon her need to protect previous vet from liability and to keep him as a referring veterinary. Dr. Powell’s immediate dismissal of my consideration of a steroid induced cataract which was based upon specific data and information gathered from a previous vet visit and a use of steroid eye drops without first checking kidneys or other organs to see if safe and to determine dosage amounts. My pet’s cataract had characteristics of a cloudy mass that concurred with multiple pictures and documents specific to steroid induced cataract. Dr. Powell was not only not interested in hearing this information, she rudely dismissed it and refused to discuss it with me. Dr. Powell gave a vague and inconclusive diagnosis at the end of the visit. Even though I repeatedly asked basic questions necessary for proper closure due to the fact that my bird was now blind and a couple of weeks ago was not blind; there was no discussion how she arrived at possibility of a traumatic cataract, what the characteristics of such a cataract would look like, what this meant, how it should be treated moving forward… My information based on picture documents confirmed that a traumatic cataract normally had stellate or rosette shaped posterior axial opacities. This was not the case with my pet’s symptoms. There was no management plan given upon leaving the doctor office. There was no follow-up call to ck on patient or necessary attention to the lack of a management plan There was no follow-up regarding prescribed medications during visit which is customary for all vet visits. When I initiated a call to Dr. Powell office a month later out of concern for the lack of follow-up and a need to know what to look for what to expect would other eye be affected, etc.; she was irritated I called. She wanted me to know that because I questioned the medications she might have prescribed she didn’t think she had any responsibility to continue assisting with my pet’s care. The conversation escalated as I was confronting an unprofessional, hostile, defensive, and uncooperative Dr. Powell. I realized I had gathered no conclusive information from the appointment, had no management care plan, and she was absolving herself of any responsibility and referring me to another specialist instead of giving proper closure and necessary support for services rendered.

Dr Gail Powell is a true gem and has helped our Teddy with her experience and knowledge about medicine, expectations, and thorough regime. She is helping us learn to navigate through the eye issues Teddy has and make him as comfortable as possible. His quality of life has improved by us following the protocol and suggestions she has made.

The most qualified pet eye specialist in Atlanta. This service is rare to find and it is much appreciated that all diagnoses are explained in a way anyone can understand. I would not take my dog anywhere else for eye treatments.

Dr. Powell was so wonderful! We were actually caught in traffic and running late. She actually stayed 30 minutes late to exam our cat! We did not feel like she rushed, but instead took the time to walk us through the procedures and her diagnoses. Her staff was also very nice and accommodating even though we showed up late. Just a great experience. Would highly recommend going here.

Dr. Gail Powell-Johnson saw my dog, who had a growth inside her upper eyelid. We found her on Google, and are very happy we did. The Dr was thorough, professional, had a very calm demeanor, and dealt perfectly with our anxious Lab mix. We definitely recommend her for any eye problems your pet may have.

This woman killed my dog. I took my 12 year old dog who was my world into her, she was in perfect health other than her eye that needed a cataract removed, all pre op tests and labs came back great. I get a call an hour into her surgery that she is gone, went into cardiac arrest, couldn't get her back, that doctor had NO reason for it, she said she couldn't explain it. I had a necropsy done on my sweet dog at UGA, showing all her organs were in very good condition, they ruled it was most likely drug induced. My dog was given too much medication by this incompetent woman throwing my dog into cardiac arrest, and I lost her that day. Do NOT take your loved pets here, she is incompetent and shouldn't be practicing any more on animals! I wish I had never gone there, I know I'd still have my sweet dog today.
