Dr. Walsh is the best veterinarian we have ever had for our pets. He has been our doctor for over 20 years. Compassionate, professional and dedicated. Awesome veterinarian.

They are always caring about my fur kids. They also do their best to fit one of our family fur kids in when there is an emergency.

Dr Walsh and his team are the best and they saved our dog’s life! They cared for our him like he was their own. Had a bad allergic reaction at the nearby dog beach, and we were able to rush him to dr Walsh within 15 minutes. They were outside waiting for us, rushed him inside and treated him right away. They kept him for 2 hours as a precaution(even staying past when they closed), and sent us home with a bunch of extra stuff in case we were ever in that position again and couldn’t make it to a vet in time. We got so lucky finding dr Walsh and we really can’t thank him and his team enough. They were amazing and went above and beyond. Our dog was even sad when we picked him up to go home bc he didn’t want to leave, and he’s usually in a hurry whenever we leave the vet. Highly recommend this place!!

Dr. Walsh and the staff at A Pet's Friend are wonderful . They are so helpful and caring and truly want the best outcome for your pet. My 20 year old cat stayed over Easter weekend and I received daily texts from Dr. Walsh updating her condition. She is enjoying her ninth life due to the care she received. We are new to Venice and our chihuahua became ill suddenly, we were not turned away but rather welcomed with open arms. The entire staff was wonderful and the veterinarian Dr. Walsh had our little guy back to us in wonderful health. Thank you all! The Neumans

Absolutely amazing! We were so nervous to leave our puppy with anyone, but after talking to the staff and Dr, I've never felt more comfortable leaving our puppy anywhere! They give your pet love and attention at drop off, give updates, check on your pet afterwards multiple times.. all for an extremely fair price -- I can't say enough good things about this place! Maple is very happy here :)

I'm a seasonal resident of Venice so last year decided to find a veterinarian for my dog in case I needed one. Thinking I was being proactive I completed the Pet's Friend application & had my dog's records send to them from my primary veterinarian. My dog became ill this week so I called & explained the situation. The person who I spoke to was concerned after hearing my dog's symptoms. She said she would speak to the vet & call me back. I made the call in the morning so thought I would back from her sometime during the day. I waited all day & heard nothing. So I call first thing the next day. The lady I spoke to previously wasn't in so the person on the desk said she needed to find my file & would call me back, which she did. However after waiting a whole day I was told they were to busy to see my dog. I was shocked to think I wasted an entire day to be told this. I would never recommend this place to take your pet especially if you have a sick animal.Things happen reasons....I called another veterinarian in Venice and was taken immediately.

We took our four-legged babies to Dr B. and Dr Walsh for almost 20 years. We have had 6 pets (four dogs/2 cats) seen by them at some point in their lives and most of them throughout their entire lives. They have all lived to become senior citizens with the exception of one kitty who we adopted with a deadly disease. Although the office is often extremely busy and wait times can be long, this is only because the doctors give their undivided attention to each family. They take their time to answer questions and relay their affection for our pets. They have always taken such care and time during multiple crises events, and also showed genuine compassion when the time came to say goodbye to four of our pets. The office staff is slammed, but they still have someone call each patient the day after an appointment just to check in. We've had behavior problems with two pets and Dr B or Dr Walsh did not give up on trying to find a solution. Sometimes the calls came from them personally long after business hours just because they are dedicated. I can't even imagine leaving a less than stellar review for this business since I've recently moved and cannot find anything even close to their level of caring service for our current pets. Thanks for the years of wonderful care!

Very thorough and courteous staff. They treated my dog Abby like family and did a complete and thorough exam including vacinations. The doctor spoke to me and explained everything they did. Prices were very fair and they even called me the next morning to follow up to see if there were any issues with the vacines which there were no problems. I highly recommend A Pet's Friend.

Dr. Walsh and staff are super friendly and patient with our cat Sarafina. She has multiple problems and they are very helpful and explain what's going on with her thoroughly.

Best vet ever! My family have been with Dr. Walsh for over 30 years (longer than I've been alive lol) and he always takes care of use. You can tell he truly cares for animals. His staff is also great and does a wonderful job of caring for our furry friends.

There is no other place in the world I would take my furry children! Dr.Walsh is a one of a kind! He has been our vet for over 30 years. He loves & takes care of his patients, as if they were his own. He has been with us through the good times & the sad times.

This is NOT a Pet's Friend! I went to this vet in 2015-16 with my cat. They don't allow you in the back when they are giving your cat shots, you wait till they are done. Each time I went, I could hear my cat crying. When they spayed her, her eye was damaged somehow, I scratch across her lens- they denied anything happened and said it must have happened at my home. The woman up front at the desk is just plain nasty. Not a smile, no warm greeting. I gave up on them and recently took my cat to an amazing cat only vet in North Port. I had my new vet ask them for my cat's medical records. Surprise! They told her they had no records of me or my cat. How petty!

Dr Walsh has been our vet for over 20 years, 2 furbabies and he has always cared deeply for all animals in his care. Miss Dr. Briteweiser she was amazing too.

We've been going to A Pet's Friend for over 33 years. Dr. Walsh is kind, compassionate, and our pet's love going there! He's fairly priced, and has always taken our pet's health to heart! He's been there in good times and in sad times too. I do agree that over the years, there have been some issues with the desk staff not representing the office as professionally as they should, but we have been very pleased with our overall experience with Dr. Walsh and couldn't imagine taking our furry family members anywhere else..
