Oaklane Kennels Valrico, Florida

This kennel used to be great back on the day. We decided to give them a try since they are close by and since our regular kennel had room for only one of our dogs during the busy holiday season. We returned to find that our nine year old retired work dog had been sitting in his urine for two days. We are devastated and angry. The owner suggested that since he’s older he may have just preferred to potty in his den and lay in it. What?! This isn’t a new experience for him and he isn’t elderly. We were offered an apology and a refund, which we didn’t bother with. We certainly would no longer recommend Oaklane Kennels.

I've been to plenty of bad kennel and boarding places so as I researched, I found Oaklane Kennels. They had great reviews and setting up my two dogs for boarding were super easy. They called my vet for their updates shots and it was a very easy and smooth set up. My dogs seemed to do fine and came back with no injuries or issues so I am a happy fur mama! My flight also got delayed so my dogs had to stay two more days which was no issue with them and so that was very helpful. A couple of things to take into account, you pay before you board. Their hours for boarding are 7:30a-12p-3p-5p. Latest for pickup is 5:30pm. You have to bag up the dog food for each day as they board or you will be charged a fee per day if they have to do it - completely understandable. They were very friendly and helpful when I called. I think I've found my new boarding place for my fur babies!

Our dog Nala LOVES it here. Every time I say "doggie day care" she lights up and runs for the door.

I have been coming to Oak Lane kennels for 6 years and we drive 20 miles as Maddie is so in love with Oak Lane as a day care dog. Maddie was abused and left on the side of the road so didn't trust anyone until Jamie , Ted ,and Sally gave her love and attention. She plays hard all day and at the pool and is a happy, exhausted camper at the end of the day when I pick her up. I'm smiling and she's smiling.

We absolutely love Oaklane Kennels! Our two dogs always get so excited when we tell them they’re going on puppy vacation! The owners are so friendly and accommodating, and they’re always running specials offering discounts. Our boys always enjoy their time at Oaklane and we enjoy the peace of mind knowing they’re in good hands!

UPDATE TO MY REVIEW BELOW - I was pleased that the current owner called me tonight to discuss my review. He says he took over in January, acknowledged this practice had been occurring but that he has worked hard to turn it around and has even earned back some business. He had clearly done his research because he had gone back to my records in 2006 and was able to accurately pinpoint the specific person I dealt with without my having to ask. He was sincere and offered me a free night. While I declined the free night, since I already have other arrangements, I felt this was a very sincere and professional approach to acknowledge my review and try to earn my business. Therefore, I have changed my review from a 1 to a 4 since I can't verify my pets' care under this new manager, but I can say this new owner was professional, courteous and honest. Google won't let me delete my post or leave no rating. So based on the phone call I received from the owner tonight, I would recommend trying this place and giving him the opportunity to overcome a poor legacy that he inherited. I'm currently looking for a boarding arrangement. The last time I boarded my dogs in this town was in 2006 while we went on an Alaskan cruise. I'm reading through the reviews and find it very telling to see several talking about being quoted one price but actually charged a higher price. This is the exact same experience I had in 2006. The day I dropped them off, I was quoted a higher price than when I made the reservation, and the response was, "You can take them somewhere else if you want." Not easy to do when you're getting ready to board a plane. I was looking at these reviews to see if perhaps my original experience was an anomaly, but it appears it was not and that this shady practice is still going on. I think I'll pass and keep looking.

Ted, Jamie & Staff are the very best at what they do. Exceptionally caring and attentive to our dogs Nikka and Annie. And I know we're not the only clients they do this for. They are wonderful!

What a wonderful place to leave your dog! I have been taking my Welsh Corgi to daycare at Oaklane for 8 years, and he loves it ! He gets so excited each and every time I pull into the driveway. I boarded him there during vacation, and he loved it. The management and staff are amazing. They treat the pets and their owners like family. I totally trust them. I wouldn't want to take my pet anywhere else.

I have been taking our dog Royale to Oaklane for years! The staff is so friendly and love all the dogs! Royale is so excited to hangout with the staff and other dogs and when he gets home he is content and tired - just like I like him.

I wish I could give this kennel 10 stars! I have been so impressed with the customer service and quality care given to my Buster. Oaklane Kennels will be our beagle’s home away from home from now on. My only regret is not discovering them sooner. Jamie and Ted are the absolute best and I didn’t worry about our Buster once while on vacation. To top off their world class service, they sent me a cute picture of our baby while I was away. I could not be happier with their service and HIGHLY recommend this outstanding kennel to meet all of your kenneling and doggie day care needs.
