My best friend brought her fur baby of 18 years to this office by recommendation of her sister due to urgency of her babies condition. The vet disregarding her concern of a possible stroke that had happened two days prior (they were out of town in a rural area on a holiday). He immediately diagnosed her with an expensive condition that could be fatal and treatment that she might not make through. My friend was rushed to make a decision to put her fur child down without any disregard for her emotions by the tech and doctor. When saying their goodbyes while crying he continued to make the family feel rushed to quickly move forward with putting her to rest at that moment. Although he had another patient arrive as they were saying their goodbyes he was acting very inconsiderate of that precious moment. Once her baby passed, which was rather quickly they were unable to provide any valuable information on the cremation or options. No pamphlets or information about what they would be receiving back. No offers were made for urns, paw prints or personal effects. I do not recommend this vet because of the lack of professionalism during an extremely tough moment. I am a dog parent myself and wouldn’t bring my fur babies here EVER!

Dr. H is not personable, does not try to communicate and he scares my dog. The staff truly try to compensate for him...but I'm tired.

Update: 11/2021: We still go to Dr. Hong and could not be happier with him. We trust him absolutely with our pets health and have for almost 15years now and he has never let us down. We recently had to put both of my dogs down within 6 days …

Excellent!! They were able to get me in the same day! Dr. Hong is straight forward and honest. Happy to have found a good vet! Dr. Hong did a deep cleaning and a tumor removal on the gums of my 10 year old rat terrier. I was very worried about sedation but he took great care of her and many of my friends have taken their dogs there as well because of how great he is! Conservative treatment, honest and the best prices and care around! I’m so thankful to have found someone to take such great care of my babies!

What a nice veterinarian to go to for my dog. For years we have gone to Royal Pets, way more expensive for lesser service. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS DOCTOR FOR YOUR PET CARE. While there every client I saw said they would go nowhere else and some have been here for years. Super friendly staff, easy to find, next door to Pinch A Penny near Bearss and Dale Mabry. Prices for services are phenomenal and these folks genuinely care about your pet and their level of service. I will bring my pet nowhere else. Keep up the great work, you have a new customer for my pet's life! ????????

I had my dog there on the 21st of May . I was told to make sure Not to miss a dose of his medicine and give it to that night this is the next day still no Prescription at Walgreens and now they are closed for the weekend. My dog is still having seizures. Poor Communications I haven't heard nothing back from them.

Me and my cats love Dr. Hong. What a great vet! Luck to have found him.

I have been taking my dog here for 4 years now. Great vet, caring and prices are fair!

This was probably one of the least desirable places to bring my dog. They never told me what her weight was, and I brought her in to be looked at for fleas. I was told that she needed trifexis and they were going to try and charge $40 for it, even though it’s only $21 online. Dr. Hong neglected to inform me that she needed a heart worm exam to be able to prescribe the medication and now I’m out $100 for a lousy exam, overpriced nail trimming and a prescription that can’t be filled due to the negligence of the vet. I do not recommend to anyone who needs a decent vet.

Dr. Hong and his staff are amazing. My 17 yr old, Dalmatian has been a very happy patient for eight years. Recently, I took my tiny, 5.5lb, 11 yr old Chihuahua, Daniella, in for a teeth cleaning (very heavy plaque build up) because I had the option of not putting her under to complete the procedure. Wow! The procedure was fast, through and I was able to save one of her back molars (at least for now). The fee was under $55. As long as the owner is willing to participate in the process...Dr. Hong offers an amazing option to the high-cost, lengthy procedure available at most vet offices, where the pet is first put under a general anesthesia.Thank you Dr. Hong and staff. I have always had amazing experiences with Dr Hong and his staff!! Today my dog unexpectedly needed surgery and in the middle of the pandemic Northdale went above and beyond to help us out! She is dog aggressive and it can be extremely difficult to take her to the vet, the staff is always so understanding and accommodating to get her in and out of the office with no issues!! They are always very fair and upfront about their prices I can’t say enough great things about them. Thank you for all you guys do!!!

20+ years of service and caring to my lineage of Dobermans, and above & beyond every single visit.

I took my baby kitten here to get a check up because she was found outside and is only 4 weeks old so i wanted to make sure everything was okay before bringing her home. The vet said he checked for everything and she was good to go home and we scheduled an appointment in 2 weeks for vaccines. I got home and my kitten had fleas and ticks all over her. They were all over the front of her face down her neck and the vet missed this? When i called back the lady said to just pick them off her and that they don’t check the skin. Will not be taking my pets back here.

We have taken our animals to Dr. Hong for close to thirty years. He’s an excellent vet, very caring and knowledgeable, and we’ve had no reservations about recommending him to our family and friends over the years. Just one of the things that we really like is that there are no other vets working in his office, so we and the pets always get to see him. The animals probably feel more at ease that way—I know we do!

We have been bringing our dogs to Northdale Animale Hospital since the mid 90’s & Dr. Hong is the best vet ever! He will never take advantage of you & will always give you affordable options. He cropped several of our pitbulls ears as well as friends pits & now we all have French Bulldogs & he takes care of them now! We live 2 counties over & still drive almost an hour to bring our dogs to see Dr Hong! He has helped us in ways he probably doesn’t even know & for that we will be forever grateful to have him as our dogs vet!

I can't say enough good things about Dr. Hong and his entire staff. We adopted a new kitten that quickly underwent some scary health issues, and I can't even describe how wonderful they all were with taking care of her.
