I rescued a dog from out of town who was neutered a day before I adopted him. I called Central Animal Hospital to schedule an appointment in 2 weeks to have his stitches removed as a result of his neuter and was told to take the dog back to the vet (out of town) who performed the surgery as they "didn't feel comfortable doing this as they didn't perform the procedure". This made me feel that they are completely unreliable for emergent service(s), if required, as removing stitches from a spay/neuter is both not complex or uncommon, we will be moving our dog's care to another local vet's office. If you need a vet's office strictly for nail clipping, heart-worm and flea tests, I think this would be an appropriate office to visit.

Please do your research before taking your pets here. We had a horrible experience (almost cost my dog his life) and wish we would have done ours before choosing central animal.

Our Doodle wasn’t feeling well and presented with a weird constellation of symptoms that made it hard to pin down what the problem was. They were able to squeeze us in that day and figure out what was wrong. The staff and Dr. Black were very caring and sweet with our dog and we truly appreciate it.

Veterinarian was unprofessional. Also charged $72 to check our poodles ears for ear mites. Very expensive with our quality of care. Vet was rude also.

Took multiple pets here for over 16 years. My dog had chronic ear infections and I wanted to try a new medication that I had read about that was successful. Staff told me that Claro (the med) needed to bought in bulk and they were not willing to do that. In fact, they never heard of it. They made no attempt to contact other vets or the manufacturer to procure a sample so that they could try a new treatment that a customer was requesting. When I pressed them, on this point they said I just didn't understand running a business. Well...I certainly know that a business should do more to accommodate a clients wishes after years of service and payments (thousands $) than the effort they made....have since taken my dog to a different vet who immediately knew what Claro was and use it in their practice frequently. Be advised... This is the treatment you get from them after 16 years of being a loyal customer. Never again.

they care more about money than saving your pet!!

I recently had to make an appointment with a vet asap for my pet. I was not familiar with the area, so based my decision on the reviews of this clinic. By the end of my visit, I fully understood why the reviews are stellar. I had a geriatric dog with some new onset and concerning symptoms. My experience, and more importantly, my pet's experience, with this clinic was excellent in every way. Every person was kind, professional, courteous, and demonstrated a real love for animals. I am grateful to the staff for all they did. I would be remiss if I did not extend a special thank you to the veterinarian, Dr. Davis, who treated my dog. She spent a great deal of time explaining the condition to me, listened and respected my thoughts, and provided options for comfort. She was spectacular, and an amazing educator !!! Even though our news was sad, I felt very comforted after talking to her, and knowing our path. Thank you all for your time and excellence in care.

My dogs now love going to see the vet! They get such great care and attention, they're always happy to go back. The staff is friendly and professional. All procedures and costs are reviewed with you in advance so you don't get surprised by any charges. They quickly adapted and have been doing a wonderful job during this pandemic to keep providing the best care and service, while protecting themselves and patients from the virus.

We took our dogs here 3 different times. Each time we communicated what we wanted with the front desk and was quoted a price. Each time, as soon as we got into the back rooms we were pushed extra treatments, and given a MUCH more expensive price. We would almost have to argue our way into getting what we originally wanted. Having this experience 3 times in a row gave us a bad taste in our mouth, and we changed our vet.

The staff here are exceptional. They literally saved my cat’s life and have helped me continue his care. Courteous, happy, and extremely knowledgeable. Dr Davis earned my trust immediately and has held it unfettered for months now. Kiara, Kourtney, Emily, and Kaila are wonderful and positive in everything they do as well. So it’s our place for our animals now. Because the people and the services provided give us peace and joy in our family. Thank you all!

Caring vet office, techs and counter service, always thorough, kind to my pets and seem very capable to handle almost anything. Have been seeing them a couple years now and I have 4 dogs so they've been tested. ????????

I had such a great experience; my elderly cat was viciously attacked by a big dog and their calm and compassionate care made such a difference. My kitty is on the mend and I highly recommend them

Today was my 1st visit for my new pup Biggie. I was greeted at the door by the very pleasant receptionist who greeted Biggie by name. Super plus. Emily was the highlight of the visit. Very helpful informative and super nice. They were quick and efficient. See you guys in 2 weeks

I would go here for myself if I could. The ladies at this office are Phenomenal. They properly treated my Bella and I'm forever grateful.

We've taken our kitties here for the past couple of years, and they have exceeded my expectations each time. They were incredibly empathetic and soothing when I had to bring two of our senior babies in for humane goodbyes. We recently brought our new adventurous cat in for his first exam and vaccines, and I left feeling confident they addressed all his issues and my concerns. Last, they are incredibly convenient being in South St. Pete. We will use them loyally!

My Lou Dog was experiencing allergies and other issues until the caring staff kindly took great care of him. Now he is healthy and happy. Many thanks!!!

From the first phone call to paying and exiting their facility, they were kind, professional and accommodating. They explained everything thoroughly, including pricing. We did not have to wait and when in the exam rooms, they were efficient but took their time with us. Highly recommend.

This is the friendliest, happiest, animal loving group of Doctors and staff that I have ever met. My fur babies love doing to the doctor. With every visit I am taught how to properly care for my babies. They love my animals as much as I do. There suggested trainer, Tiffany, is hands down the best.
