The best vet I ever been to by far. My baby suffers from anxiety and separation but this staff actually let's you stay in the room the whole time and explains everything to you they are truly the best place to take your fur babies.

I’ve been to this place twice. Both times we have been greeted and felt welcomed both me and my dog Anna. You can tell the staff loves what they do. I will continue taking my dog here while I live in Saint Augustine. They are very professional and try to accommodate you for an appointment. I highly recommend them.

The entire staff was incredible. My cat had an allergic reaction and his regular vet was closed. Even though he’d never been to Jackson before and they were fully booked that day, the staff went above and beyond to squeeze him in. The vet was so caring and knowledgeable. I definitely will use them again.

Been taking the family cat here and find the staff caring and attentive to the cats needs. Pricing is very reasonable and I dont mind the covid procedures in place, where you call from the parking lot and they come out to get your pet. Payment over the phone is great and they accept the Care Card!!

The doctosr and assistants are very professional and caring. We have 2 large dogs and two small ones, one of which has diabetes. We have to give him insulin shots twice a day. He has to go often for monitoring and with corona virus now, they walk to the car with masks on to get Max and test him. I look forward to going into the office and talking to them in person.

Excellent vet! Took both my pups here for the first time recently to get their yearly vaccinations and I’m so happy I did! The vets were great at guiding me through what vaccinations my pups needed and made sure my pups were healthy. I also had them clean my pups teeth and I’ve never seen more pearly white teeth on a dog before in my life. They did an amazing job! Overall, everyone was very helpful and knowledgeable and made things super easy. They’ve also been incredibly responsive anytime I’ve contacted them about my pups health records. I highly recommend Jackson Veterinary and will be taking my pups here anytime they need a vet.

I really can’t say enough kind or fitting things to express my gratitude for Dr. Crabb and the entire staff at Jackson Veterinary Hospital. I relocated about a year ago and took my then 13 year old dog Milligan in for a Sr. check-up. Dr Crabb immediately made me feel at ease as I was anxious being in a new area with a new vet. I took my Milligan back for his check up this year (and drove 2 hours in each direction just to bring him back to Jackson) and they found he had cancer. The decision to put him down was excruciating. Dr. Crabb and the staff were so kind and thoughtful to me throughout his final weeks. They delivered important medicine to me for him as I was unable to make it to the location before they closed bc they knew how upset I was about him being sick and wanting to limit his pain in his final days. The kicker was after I put him down I received a card signed by everyone at Jackson Veterinary Hospital expressing their condolences about my dogs passing. Upon opening it, I burst into tears and realized this was truly a special group of people. I really can’t thank them enough for making a very difficult time just a little bit easier. I will bring my next dog there undoubtably and think y’all should too. Brendan McDavitt

When I requested a prescription of heart worm medication, a drug my dog has taken for four years, I was told, first, they would not telephone or fax authorize a prescription to 1-800-PETMEDS. That they sold the drug in-house and if I wanted to go elsewhere, I would need to pick up a physical prescription. This is during COVID. I agreed. Shortly afterwards, they called back and indicated that they would need perform a heart worm test on our dog. They had full medical records which showed that Lucca had a physical two months prior, including a heart worm test. Last month I brought Lucca in for a Bravecto prescription. This month, they want another visit for a Trifexas prescription. These were refill preventative prescriptions, not new prescriptions. They have records showing that we are current with all medical requirements, including dental. That we’ve never spared expense with our dogs. When I questioned the employee, she indicated that they received less revenue when patients used outside sources for medication. Two separate vet appointments, a month apart, for flea/tick/heart worm prevention is ridiculous. Especially ridiculous during COVID. They are attempting to price gouge. We readily do and pay for what is best, but I will not be price gouged. Did I mention, even if I chose to bring our dog in for a second appointment, our dog is out if town for an extended period, with my husband, who is visiting his Mom, who is in hospice care.

Looking for a new vet. Called 3 times for a price to neuter my puppy. They finally called back a week later. Was nearly double the price of others. Price was not the major consideration but the lack of a return call told me plenty. Hard pass for me.

My dogs experience with the staff was relaxed, quite pleasant I must say even though she had to have shots. I very highly recommend bringing your animals here.

My dog had a growth on her tail. Because of the questionable cause of this growth we decided to cut it off. Unfortunately not only did the growth have to be cut off, a part of the tail had to be cut off too. As part of the post operative instruction the tail has to be kept as still as possible and dressed to protect it. I was told the dressing would probably fall off - the original dressing fell off the night of the procedure, and less then 2 days after the surgery i brought her back as instructed just to make sure the site was fine Because of the virus the technicians come out to get the dog When i brought her back on almost day 2 with the dressing I applied, note there was no oozing when I dressed it, the technician that came out to get her made absolutely no attempt to control the tail on the way into the office. When I received a call when they were finished they were going to send her out undressed, but then say its oozing and they had to dress it. That says to me they let her tail wag and possibly hit something which made it ooze Was not happy about that, also they charged me $14 for the dressing which fell off in about 2 hours. She had a follow up with the doctor 5 day post op and I brought her in with no dressing ( I was told it’s actually better with no dressing so if I could, to not have a dressing). The wound looked good when I handed her to the technician I watched the technician bring her in the office and sure enough once again she made absolutely no attempt to stop her tail from wagging. The doctor called said it looked great and exactly where it should be at this point. He decided to dress it and adhered it with tape the whole length of the tail, well the dressing they did all had tape on them and the tape rips her hair out when I have to take it off after half of the dressing fell off any way. In summary, the technicians that I dealt with do not care, the doctor dressed it and didn’t even run it by me so I could approve or deny

Dr. Glidewell and Dr. Crabb are excellent Veterinarians. In addition, they genuinely care about the animals. The office staff is kind and caring. They provided wonderful, compassionate care to our sweet Cairn Terrier, Dune. Dr. Glidewell …

This has been my vet for years. The people are very nice and professional, and they take excellent care of my dog. They board, too, and now offer alternative medicine options. The facility is always clean and the doesn't smell funky.

Jackson came highly recommended as a great place to board dogs. We boarded our 3 dogs one night and following day while vacationing at the campground across the street. They were well cared for and in great spirits when we picked them up. The staff made the process of boarding out of town dogs very simple.

We were on vacation in St. Augustine when our dog became ill. We called a couple clinics before calling Jackson Vet Hospital and were relieved when they could see us that same morning. The staff contacted our vet in Atlanta to get our dog's records and they treated our dog like he had been a patient forever. Dr. Anna Thompson was very thorough and started treatment immediately for a very bad ear infection. The entire team was warm and helpful. I recommend this clinic to locals and anyone visiting with an issue.
