They took really good care of my cat Playboy when he almost died due to complications from undiagnosed (at that time) diabetes. They are a little pricey, but I think that's at any emergency vet. The staff there was kind and caring

This is obviously somewhere you hope to never have to visit, but if you are in need of emergency vet care, this is the best place to bring your pet.

I brought my dog Teddy for several CT scans of which they provided excellent care. The staff was very friendly and kind to my boy. The only issue I have is with the lack of transparency and communication. We had the CT scan's on a Thursday and followed up to receive the results on Friday. I was informed that the Dr was in and out of Surgery, but they would leave a note for her to call me back. There was no call back on Friday. We called on Saturday to follow up again, and at that time they let us know the Dr is not in on the weekend, but would be back on Monday or Tuesday. We then called on Tuesday and were told the Dr would be out for the week due to the Holiday, and would not be back until the following Tuesday. You can imagine the frustration that can begin to develop when you do not receive clear communication on when you will be hearing back from the Dr for the CT results. Especially when we are trying to determine whether our dog has lung cancer or not. Initially I wanted to rate them with 5 stars, but due to the amount of miscommunication it has soured my experience. After my initial experience, I was able to get ahold of Marcos. He was very apologetic about the miscomunication and he was very patient with us and answered all of our questions. He was ableto to give us peace of mind and put us at ease. Since then they have done a fantastic job keeping us updated during and after our dogs surgery.

The staff at SVRC is absolutely amazing. We were blessed by the doctors, nurses and staff that helped us through all of our precious Meadow's injuries and illnesses. Thank you all for the love and support you demonstrated to us and our wolfie.

This is where our vet has recommended we take our pets for emergencies. Even when we lived in Downtown Miami and it was a bit of a drive, we came here. They are always open and available to help. The staff is very calm (even though we have been a total mess thinking our poor furr babies were about to cross the rainbow bridge). Personally we have taken 2 cats and 3 dogs to this hospital for emergencies and they have been excellent.

The care Southeast Veterinary Center gave our family when our beloved Mia past away recently was FANTASTIC! They cared for her in her final hours as if she had been their pet for years. They showed respect for us and nothing but care and compassion for her.

This place is horrible, I brought my dog there because he was vomiting and bleeding from his rectum. It says it’s an emergency vet but had me wait in my vehicle for over an hour while my dog is bleeding. Avoid this place and go to real emergency vet location.

Gaby is the RUDEST vet technician ever. Don’t EVER come here. No compassion for a grieving pet owner.

I arrived at the hospital at dawn with my pet in critical condition at 2 a.m. and they immediately came to help. They took Nina inside and told me to wait and when they stabilized her they would explain. That's how it went. They kept me informed of the situation until they gave me a diagnosis and a prognosis. My pet was hospitalized for three days and I received updates at all times. The doctors spoke directly to me and explained how my pet's health was each shift. The nurses and support staff were available 24 hours to answer all my questions and concerns with precision, gentleness and kindness. They all showed me support and solidarity, which was what I needed the most. They saved my beloved Nina and I will always be grateful to them. This is an excellent veterinary clinic in every way and I recommend it from the bottom of my heart being, as I am, an animal lover, you know we can feel when our beloved pets are being treated with love. Thanks forever, guys.

I took poodle Sasha at 10/11/21 @ 7:30 am, she was lifeless on that Monday morning. I don't know what happened to her. After they took her in, I called 30 mins to see what's going on, the person who answered said she died and the doctor will come out to see me. Well when he came out, I assumed he didn't know I was already told she was dead. He lied and said she was still alive and stable and requested $3,195 after I gave $800. I didn't have that money I paid $1,195 and told him I was going to get someone else to call in and paid. My dog was never stable, the doctor called in 45 mins later to ask if I wanted CPR because Sasha was crashing. I told him I signed forms requesting CPR. Then 15 mins later he said she died. I assumed all this was because someone previously informed me that she had already died and they were scamming me for money. I requested all her medical records, 3 days later only sent me a blood work which honestly I don't think it belonged to her. I kept calling requesting the records. x-rays, etc. and still nothing. Till this day the doctor hasn't spoken to me to inform me as to what happened to Sasha. I have no other choice than to take them to the Veterinary Board. They scammed people for money. They didn't let me see her. They take advantage of our love for our furry babies. DO NOT GO UNLESS YOU WANT TO GIVE THEM FREE MONEY.

These are the things you never want to deal with as a pet owner but you should always be ready in case you need an emergency vet visit. This location was the only emergency vet that would accept my dog as a patient in the middle of the night on a weekend. They did not try to sell me things I didn't need to which is great because that is what I have heard of many emergency vet locations. I recommend SVRC!

I am writing to give high praise to one of your assistants, Stephanie. She provided a high level of customer service when I called trying to get medication for my furbaby Charlie. He is a patient of the cardiologist who works out of there. Stephanie went out of her way to retrieve the meds, call me when she had them and take them out to my husband, who picked them up. Many thanks to Stephanie!!!!

Great doctors but the crew, absolutely unorganized. Un capable of picking phone up and answering simple questions. All the time I called there, at least 15 minutes waiting on the line. Nobody knows anything. They keep passing on my call. And never return my calls.

Our Dog, Daisy May, had to have her spleen removed not as an emergency but as a precaution for any future health issues. Our local vet had to refer us out of our area for this surgery because our vet has no overnight care. This invasive surgery requires an overnight stay. We FORTUNATELY were referred to Southeast Veterinary Referral Center and to her surgeon Dr. Daubs. After meeting with Dr. Daubs, we felt confident and reassured that Daisy was in good "hands" for her surgery. Daisy's surgery went very well, she is a brave little doggie : ). The vet nurse, Rey, that took care of her was amazing and caring. He was very informative and "understanding" to any questions we asked even after Daisy returned home for her recovery. Thank you to all the staff for the pleasant communication every step of the way. Shout out again for REY! Thank you for being there and returning calls almost immediately to Daisy May's Mom and Dad! As said she is doing GREAT and back to her normal everyday routine only 2 weeks after surgery! : )) Leslie and Jack Brier

I will not take my dog back to this place. They are fast to take your money and slow to return calls or give you any feedback. Very unorganized, poor communication between pet owner and doctors/nurses. I took my dog in for an abdomen review that was recommended by my dog’s primary care. When I arrived for pick up, a nurse came out, handed me my dog and receipt for payment. Did not discuss anything with me about the diagnostic test my dog had completed and I was not provided with results or given a time frame as to when I would have results. I was told that the doctor and nurse that complete the consultation would call me and they did not. It’s funny how they were very quick to collect payment for services but then had horrible customer service and communication. Being that we are now having to do things differently as far as drop offs due to COVID precautions, there should be better communication between staff and pet owners. I’ve been calling everyday and send daily emails for a week with no return calls or email from Dr Lynn That’s just wrong! I do not recommend this place!

Excelente care!! Doctors are very knowledgeable and caring. One of the few places in Miami that have specialists on side. Doctor Carrol is outstanding. She saved my pet providing an accurate diagnosis and treatment when no other doctor was able to do so. I highly recommend this place. Forever grateful to doctor Carrol and the rest of the staff.

Exceptional staff, phenomenal veterinarians, and a positive experience from start to finish! I have taken my Weimaraner to SVRC for both scheduled x-rays and emergency stitches in the past year, and the entire team worked tirelessly and to ensure that everyone felt reassured and comfortable - humans and fur family alike! Such a positive and professional place to take your pet. Bravo, SVRC!

Jessica / Jennifer was so kind and compassionate to us when we arrived at 2am. It was so scary for me I forget which is her name! My cat sliced his tongue trying to get his Seresto collar off, as it looped onto his lower jaw and I didn’t realize the extent to the damage done until the next day when he was yawning and I saw his tongue. She showed me how he was healing, explained mouth injuries, and brought him back to the vet to determine if he needed antibiotics right away or not. The vet said that they didn’t want to take my money as it would be more expensive than our regular vet and suggested that I wait and keep monitoring and could take him to our normal vet when they opened in a couple of days since it was healing fine. I was sooo relieved that 1. It wasn’t as big an emergency as anticipated and 2. That we didn’t have to spend a fortune.

I had to take my pup over to this facility after a huge tumor appeared in the middle of her chest. Stella had surgery with Dr. Lyn who was amazing! The whole team was so great, not only with Stella but with myself as well. They let me know how she was doing every step of the way, and were so patient with all my questions. I couldn’t be happier with Stella’s results and I will forever recommend this place.

I can not thank the team enough for the treatment we received. My dog needed surgery for bladder stones and needed to stay over one night. From the attention he received to them encouraging me to call as often as I needed, they were wonderful. I would recommend SVRC to anyone! It is obvious that they love their jobs and treat the pets with love.

What an abysmal excuse for a "veterinary practice." I have never had such a horrible lack of care ever! There are no emergency vets in the Keys, so I drove in the middle of the night to receive care for my cat. My cat is 1 1/2 years old and was experiencing a urinary blockage, which is fatal in male cats if not treated in a timely fashion. I arrived at SVRC at 1am, told them of my cat's symptoms, and that I knew he needed an immediate catheter. SVRC had my cat for TWO HOURS and quoted me for a $4000 surgery tp reroute his urethra instead of actually TREATING THE EMERGENCY AT HAND! I was mortified. They did NOTHING TO TREAT OR CARE FOR MY CAT AT ALL. I eventually demanded my cat back and drove to the vet in Marathon (they open at 7am and IMMEDIATELY treated my cat). When getting my cat back from SVRC, they warned me his bladder might explode... THEN WHY WOULDN'T YOU GIVE MY CAT A CATHETER FOR A TIME SENSITIVE ISSUE!? Do NOT bring your animal here. Incompetent staff looking to price gouge for unnecessary, irrelevant procedures. Zero stars and waste of money and precious time.

The medical care given here is second to none. I come from Boca Raton. The professionalism, kindness, never quit attitude you cannot top. Dr. Carro is the best Vetinarian ever. My dogs are treated better than people in hospitals.100.00 Percent

I was recommended this place to perform a ct scan for my dog. My initial call was great and very informative. However, I was told one thing on the phone and quoted a certain price. Once I arrived and my dog was seen they quoted almost 3 times the price. I declined all extra charges as all I needed was for my dog to get evaluated to perform the ct scan. I was given more information and set up the ct scan for that Monday and was quoted a price. I arrive on Monday and was told a completely different price as now they needed to perform other exams on my dog before they could do the ct scan in which in my previous conversation they advised it was recommended not required but morning of the ct scan now it became required. Understanding the reasoning why they needed to perform the additional test I agreed, however, agreed only the circumstances with the price being reduced as the communication from this veterinary clinic is very poor. Had they told me from the beginning what was required the outcome would have been very different. They tend to tell you one thing and then once you’re there they paint a completely different picture. My dog completed his ct scan on June 29th. When I picked him up they advised the doctor would call me within days to discuss the results. It is now July 14th and I am still waiting for a call back. I’ve called numerous times and my last phone call I inquired if the doctor was going to call me back the response I received was “she has all your messages you’ve left so I’d imagine she would”. A-class customer service. If you can choose a different place for your pet, I would highly recommend to do so.

Been here for an hr called and did the required process to registered, after an hr waiting in the car with my 13 y/o dog that hasn’t been eating for the past 2 days, this people have the nerve of telling me I have to wait 3 more hrs after I called 3 times to ask what was going on, the reason they gave me “an emergency case” never coming back to this place again. Not even 1 star this people deserve

Doctor was great as were the vet techs. Front desk absolutely terrible. I’m still waiting on someone to call me to explain the lab results to me. Emailed them back in 5/17. Not a word back. Ended up going for a second opinion at another vet. Less expensive and way better service. It is a shame they are one of the only emergency vets. I saw the reviews before heading out, but I had no choice but to go to them.
