We had a fantastic experience. We are from out of state and our dog got into something he shouldn’t have. I called them multiple times and they provided me with advice to help him stay hydrated and what we could give him to eat. They were very professional and kind on the phone each time I called. Prices were reasonable and the process of getting our dog seen was smooth, and quick.

I went there as an emergency after my dog got hit by a car and our regular family veterinarian was closed. I called ahead of time to make sure my dog would be able to be seen since I didn’t have money on me at the moment because we just bought a property then our puppy caught the pneumonia and I paid cash to our vet. but I had proof (bank statements) that I make almost 8,000 a month and my credit is fair because of a lack of credit history (I pay everything cash, I’ve never made payments for anything) not because of derogatory marks but I was able to make payment for any cost of care and they acted like that would be fine over the phone… Well after I got there EVERYTHING changed… I got there at 1:30 am, and I explained the situation they said my dogs pelvis was possibly fractured (they weren’t even sure) and his femur was fractured and his paw needed to be amputated. And it would cost 10,000 worst case scenario and I was fine with that… but they said I couldn’t afford it… I literally own my property NO PAYMENTS, MY VEHICLE, I MAKE NO PAYMENTS ON ANYTHING… I make 8k a month and have very little bills so don’t tell me what I can and can’t afford… it was 5:30 so I said fine, my vet opens soon, I’ll just take him there… THEY THREATENED TO HAVE ANIMAL SERVICES CALLED ON ME IF I DIDN’T PUT MY DOG TO SLEEP RIGHT THEN AND THERE… This is a money hungry, heartless, veterinary hospital that only cares about themselves… my 10 year old son was there begging for them to not do that to his dog but they gave us no choice… I have contacted my lawyer about the matter and he is building a case to sue… please, if you love your animals DO NOT BRING THEM TO THIS HOSPITAL…! There are 2 other hospitals in Sarasota, this one is absolutely disgraceful… I have recordings of them threatening me with animal services and photos…!

My big black lab, Banks, was unable to move & was not eating nor drinking. My regular vet does not have after hour care & Suncoast Vet ER was able to take him. Sadly Banks had an abdominal tumor & the most caring treatment was euthanasia. In spite of the pandemic I was allowed to be with Banks & have some final family moments via zoom. Not only were they were compassionate, but they did not recommend unnecessary tests & the professional fees were reasonable . I would definitely recommend this service.

Do not take your pet here. Paid a 900$ vet bill, got no details, no reasoning and rude customer service. Absolutely ridiculous. Worst vet I’ve ever seen. Would love to say worse but I’ll be polite

Very disappointed in the care of our dog. We were bullied in to putting her down. Wish we had never seen or heard of this place.

The people here are so kind, compassionate and professional that it put me at ease being there late at night with my sick dog. The hospital is clean, modern and equipped to handle emergencies. To have this available 24 hours a day is truly a blessing. I would give them a 10 if I could.

Brought in our cat due to her vomiting an alarming amount yesterday. She was discharged after several hours because she seemed to be doing better and there was no immediately apparent cause. Had to bring her back late last night because she started to vomit again. Dr. Hempfling and his night staff were phenomenal. They were attentive, sympathetic, and only wanted to do what was best for our cat. He made me feel comfortable leaving her overnight for an inpatient visit. He ran necessary tests, was not interested in just running up a bill, and gave a treatment plan we are hoping will work. We have used BluePearl in the past but Suncoast has won our business. Thank you to all the staff for your hard work!

I went to pick up my dog they told me he would be ready by 8. So I showed up there at 8 pm to pick him up and waited outside for an hour until someone finally came out and said they are getting him ready he should be out shortly! Nope another 30 min. And finally they brought him out to me. I had to wait for results and I got them today and found out he had prostate cancer. I’m devastated.

Last night I brought my beagle in for a missing toenail that would not stop bleeding. My own vet and Blue Pearl were not able to take us. Suncoast was so nice and listened to all my concerns and information about Murphy. They communicated everything very well and made me feel better. We got home with everything we needed and they called today to follow up. If we have an emergency again, I would choose them over others.

We were on vacation from New Hampshire when our dog injured her eye. We were very impressed with the care Mallory received. We were lucky to find a place that would take her right away. Thank you Ps.. she is fine now ????

Lucas is healthy and has no side affects from the incident, and has had a number of followup blood panels that show all his organs are functioning properly. That is something I am very grateful for. However, my regular doctors both here in Sarasota and back in Indiana FREAKED OUT when we questioned them about how they treated Lucas. Lucas got into some Advil. I called them right away instead of my regular DR since this was on a Sunday. They told me to bring him in, but that I would also have to call the poison center. No problem, except two things, If I am on the phone with the poison center, how am I supposed to call the office when I arrive? Thankfully I was able to get the attention of another employee who was taking care of anther customer. Second problem was that they had Lucas for just OVER AN HOUR BEFORE they started any treatment. They didn't even induce vomiting. They let those toxins in my babies system when they could have at least tried to have him vomit them. As soon as the office knew that I was there with Lucas they came and got him immediately, and they even asked for an "OK" to induce vomiting. So I expected that they were going do that right away. WRONG. As it turns out they wouldn't do anything until I talked to the poison center and got a code for the DR to call and talk to their doctor. And yes I was on hold a very long time with the poison center. I felt like I was in a big run around while my boy is being poisoned under their care. Once Lucas was admitted to the clinic for his three day stay, they would not allow me to visit him. Even when he was outside for his bathroom breaks. Very sad.

I went to blue pearl first. They were slow and very un professional. I waiting on hold and in the parking lot for 15-20 minutes while my dog was shaking in the back. I then rushed over to suncoast. They answered the phone promptly. When I pulled up Ashley came right out and helped me. She kept the situation calm and was intelligent and professional. She Gyula me through all the possibilities and my options. I got my best friend home and he's recovering. Thanks again Ashley and the suncoast team!

Did not enjoy my experience here today. I find it shocking that Veterinarian Services continue to enjoy keeping away from personal contact with their customers. I DO NOT send my kids inside alone to a Doctor AND I am sick of sending my pet inside without me into the Vets Office for a shot or exam. Today I waited almost an hour and a half in a hot parking lot. I had to shut my car off after 30 minutes because it was ridiculous to continue running the air conditioning that long. Did they care. NO!!! Suncoast Veterinary Emergency Clinic why do you feel the need to hide? I wore a mask at all times, and I was respectful of staff but I had to speak to the Doctor by telephone. This is crazy!!! There is NO REASON TO CONTINUE THIS PRACTICE!!! OPEN YOUR DOORS and let the people who PAY your income and salaries through those doors to stand beside their pets. Separating the pets from their families especially in an emergency situation is very stressful to the pets. Stop it!! I work every day with the public and have since this pandemic began. Not once did I hide from my customers. Over the last month or two I have found there are vets allowing their customers to come in the exam room with their pets. It is time you did too!!! Not impressed. Super disappointed.

We brought our babygirl Princess to see Dr. North yesterday. Unfortunately, our fear was confirmed and we had to put our sweet angel to sleep, one of the hardest decisions any pet parent will ever have to make. Dr. North is a phenomenal internal medicine veterinarian and truly cares about your fur baby as her own. The vet tech Laura was beyond wonderful as well as all the staff. Thank you for being so compassionate, kind and honest. Thank you for letting us be with our sweet babygirl as she went to heaven. We appreciate all of you and the amazing job you do! God bless all of you ❤️

very sweet staff! they were all very personable and friendly. the vet that took care of my cat was honest, gave me different options to care for my cat if i so chose (my cat was ultimately okay but she gave me options for if i wanted to give her some meds anyways, which i declined since she didn't need it and the vet understood and agreed with my choice), and even provided a free booklet to keep my cat's weight in check (since she's a little chunky!). after suggesting i keep an eye on my cat to make sure she's okay, they even offered that if her condition declined (god forbid) that i could bring her in again for free! 10/10 experience!

Our 11 year old 2 legged 4 pound chihuahua fell from our arms and broke his femur. We were freaking out and rushed ROO to Suncoast. Their response was incredible and compassionate. Dr. Young performed his surgery, putting in a plate! Roo’s incision healed very well, and now 6 weeks later he is back to normal! Hopping and using his leg like he did before accident ????. Through it all staff communicated and provided exceptional care.

Recently our family dog of 15 years (Coffee) took a turn downward. I took Coffee to Suncoast, they methodically looked at all angles, discussed options and outcomes with me and we both decided that putting Coffee to sleep was the best avenue for him and out family. What happened next is what is the differentiator. The team at Suncoast Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Center are more than just vets, they instantly became a friend and a support group. They were understanding in their approach to handling me and Coffee with this decision. The entire experience was calming, kind, compassionate and thoughtful. I can't say enough great things about the team at Suncoast Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Center. Thank you.

Was told to bring my cat in only to be told they wouldn't see my cat because they don't know how eyes work. Their intake form makes me believe they only specialize in diarrhea. Saturday 3:30pm the name i used on the form was vincent

The cross-country move a year ago combined with living in three places the 1st month took it's toll on my older senior cat's health. Symptoms presented on a Saturday evening. They were quick to get Gary seen that eve, and get a treatment plan started. He and my other cat, Casper, continue to see Dr. Page & her team as they both have chronic issues needing more specialized care. I recently had to use their ER services again, and they have gone above and beyond once again to help get my Gary healthy again. The entire staff (including those behind the scenes that I've only spoken with via phone) is professional, knowledgeable, friendly, helpful and compassionate. I am so grateful for you all!

I had to put my dog to sleep. It was heartbreaking. The Suncoast staff was amazing in the process. If you're going here for an emergency expect to be told it'll cost $1000 for a full medical examination. But rest assured the staff is professional and kind. I'm thankful we had a place to go to late Saturday into early Sunday. I recommend it.

After dealing with my dog’s (Vallie, German Shepherd) GI issues for 3 weeks, she still didn’t seem better so I brought her to Suncoast on a Saturday afternoon after a poop that looked not good. Karen, Paige and Dr Bennett, were so good with Vallie and extraordinarily patient with me, the crazy dog Mom who asked more questions than I probably needed to ask. They provided great information and helped put my mind at ease with her current status as well as next steps. Their care, kindness and grace will not be forgotten and is greatly appreciated. I would absolutely use this clinic again. Thank you all, so much.
