Sorry for the long delay. But something reminded me of this sad visit. Back in 2016, my dog needed to be put down. He was scheduled for euthanasia, but he got so ill on a Sunday, we couldn't take him to our regular vet. And had to come …

They were so friendly and helpful. My sweet Lola started limping and they checked her all out. Gave her anti-inflammatory meds and told us if those DON'T work we can bring her back for an x-ray to make aure Its not something more serious.

My senior giant breed dog was having what seemed like gastrointestinal issues when I brought her here. These can be life or death situations, and despite my dog’s symptoms diminishing upon exam, the veterinarian agreed that x-rays were a good idea. I believed my dog may have had a foreign body and this seemed logical and smart. I have veterinary assistant experience and while I am more informed than the average pet owner, I did trust the veterinarian’s judgement throughout. After the x-ray, the veterinarian came back into the room with a look like my dog was dying. He expressed extreme urgency because of what he saw on the x-ray and proceeded to pressure me into a total of $700 of testing and treatment (in this case, anti-nausea meds and fluids) and pushing hard for exploratory surgery to remove the foreign body. Despite none being shown on the x-ray (only gas was visible), I opted to delay until the night to see if a further x-ray looked better. The veterinarian, having heard me say I wanted to spend smartly in case of emergency, judgmentally asked me if I would “even be able to afford surgery if she needed it.” I said I would find a way *if* that was needed. I didn’t feel like surgery was a good route and logically didn’t agree with the diagnostic path taken. I left after this, stayed up all night wondering if I had given my dog a death sentence as the vet here implied several times. I visited an ER vet the next day who immediately was able to tell she had a sprained neck. That ER vet noticed this immediately upon triage. My regular vet reviewed the x-rays and said “thank god you didn’t listen to them.” Veterinarians deserve a ton of empathy and do a thankless job, but this one seemed willing to risk my pet‘s life (again, a senior giant breed - not without risk to operate on) in order to get me to spend more. I will never go back. The rest of the staff was fantastic but this is overshadowed entirely by what happened with my experience here.

These people are great. We had to take our cat in on New Years Day. They got us in right away and took great care of our kitten and were very kind and reassuring. They even texted us to check up on him a day or two later. Facilities are clean and the have an urgent care as well regular vet services.

I called ahead for my Dutch Shepard, Bleu, and they were able to fit me in in an hour on a Sunday night. Mine was not a dire emergency, but while I was there, someone did have one and the staff also handled that very professionally. Staff was very friendly and handled my crazy guy exceptionally well. Pricing was VERY fair for an emergency clinic as well.

The care team here is absolutely incredible! My dog sustained some awful injuries requiring immediate medical attention when we were in the area visiting family for the holidays. Their vet couldn’t get us in, but they recommended St. Petersburg Animal Hospital and Urgent Care as an alternative. They got us in immediately and took incredible care of my dog! They even went the extra mile to personally follow-up via text the next day. We returned twice more, on Christmas Eve and NYE, for follow-up appointments and every single staff member we encountered was so kind and thoughtful - especially considering they were working on holidays! The cost of everything was VERY reasonable as well. I cannot thank y’all enough for saving my baby!

We literally had a exam a month ago, and for some stupid reason they won't give him the oral flea medicines ( I usually just get it on a monthly basis since it's usually 50 or more). They want another exam, and they also misdiagnosed him once. He had a stroke and they said he ate pot. We don't have pot in the house. It was super embarrassing to ask the neighbors if they have lost weed in their yards just in case. Another vet said it was a stroke. He still walks and holds his head funny 6 months later. Total waste of 1k.

This place is ridiculous. They gave me a prescription for my cat that was suppose to be for his entire life. And when I had issues with ordering his food I was told I have to come back in and pay for another exam. Total scam. Do not go here!

My dog started having stomach issues on a Friday night and it got progressively worse through Saturday. First thing Sunday morning, I called St. Petersburg Animal Hospital to see if they'd be able to see her. They informed me they were a little busy with emergency walk-ins, took down my info and penciled me in for 11:30am, but told me to call prior to heading over to make sure there wasn't too much of a wait. I appreciated this because I rather wait at home with my sick dog than in my car or the waiting room. I called and they were right on schedule. They saw my pup and gave her medicine to treat all her symptoms. The afterhours office visit was $95, which I found to be reasonable. I've taken her to another ER in the past and it was $160 JUST for the visit, not including treatment. With treatment ( two shots and antibiotic prescription) and the visit fee, it was $227. I found that to be reasonable for an ER visit. The total visit was about an hour between check-in with the tech, being seen by the vet, and then getting the meds administered. It's been 24hrs + and my dog is doing much better. They texted to check in and advised me to continue with her medication. I am so thankful that I decided to google what was open in the area and found this vet rather than taking her to the other ER place.

My reason for going was very sad, the staff were very kind. They were able to get me in quickly, and every person I talked to was compassionate and caring. Even the bill wasnt a nightmare like you might expect from urgent care. Though heartbreaking for me, the people here are awesome & I am likely to come see the very nice doctors & techs for my other furbabies & would recommend their veterinary care to anyone.

Such a scam. They charged me $300 to basically tell me they didn’t know what was wrong with my dogs. Sent them home with oral medication to be taken with food even though they were made aware that they weren’t eating. It’s not the next day and they’ve gotten worse and I’ve now spent $500 with my primary vet. I called back today and they tried to justify that they gave them proper treatment even though NONE of what they did helped and refuse to refund me my money. Horrible people, and awful service. They do not care about your pets. GO ELSEWHERE!

Was referred by Pet Passages, and we are so glad that (on a Sunday) they could assist us with our suffering beloved pet child. They are gentle, caring and professional. They thought of everything before we needed it. They are the first place that you should go with your pet emergencies.

I have to say this was my first experience in a facility for an emergency for my animal. They where very professional and compassionate. Quick and thorough. They took extra precautions to ensure the health of my dog after surgery. I even received texts after to check in on her when we came home. I will for sure come back to this hospital if needed. Thank you!

My experience here was great, came in with my new kitten Teddy! They took me without previously making an appointment. Teddy came in with an eye infection as well as a tiny cold. The employees that I talked to were all the sweetest! Teddy is already looking and feeling better 24 hours after the visit. Thank you so much!

Clearly NOT an urgent care since apparently a VET is not always on site. I'm confused - how are you open if there is no vet on site? We were turned away when our dog was having an allergic reaction at 5 pm because there was no vet. Awesome. We've been there before without calling in advance and had no issue being helped on a moment's notice. But this will the last time we visit this place.

Super clean facility. Helpful front office staff and very knowledgeable doctor. Dr. Brett is the best vet our dogs have ever had. Patient and kind-took the time to explain the medications my dogs needed.

My dog injured herself and needed urgent care. The staff was efficient, kind, and caring - they went the extra mile to keep my dog as comfortable as possible. They helped us understand the problem and answered all our questions. They also followed up the next day to check on our pet, using a convenient texting service. I absolutely recommend their urgent care services!

I was so worried when my dog became lethergic and having difficulty walking. I rushed to the clinic and they had us in an exam room within 10 min of your arrival. We where only there for about 45 min Andy dog was diagnosed, treated and feeling 50% better. The people there really care and are so understanding. The cost was much lower than any other emergency vet I have been too. I would give them 10 stars if I could!
