I was very impressed by Big Bend Animal Hospital and their treatment for Bailey our dog. They did a great job with all blood work and needed prescriptions to get him back on his feet with one visit. I'm proactive with our pets and ask questions regarding their treatment. The staff and doctor were wonderful with me and patient to help me. They also gave me a detailed itemized bill for me to submit to my insurance company for reimbursement of covered services. They even did follow up calls to see how Bailey was doing. This was my first experience with Big Bend Animal Hospital and hope to do more business with them in the future.

The staff is great and so is the Doc. I bring all 4 of my dogs there.

This was my first experience with Dr Holder and her staff. The service and care for my 15 year old cat, Merrick was outstanding. I wouldn't change a thing. I was well informed of what to expect. Merrick is feeling much better thanks to everyone at this clinic. I highly recommend Dr Holder and her staff for anyone looking for a vet in the Riverview area.

I was able to get my chorkie in to be groomed within 24 hours of my call and it was 2 days before Xmas! So happy for a bath and haircut this close to xmas.

Great staff. Amazing Vet. Would not go anywhere else. My dog is treated well and returns happy not scared.

Our beloved fur baby, Dawson, that we had for 16 yrs, was patient here for the many years and until his last days. Now Myka, our foster fail, cause we adopted her within days and she is amazing; she is now a patient and why not all other fur babies that enter the Garcia-Zurita family. Ruby has been our most recent intro to this Vet. Grateful for the care of all at Big Bend Animal.

Great place to take your pets to. Doctors are great and the staff is very professional and courteous. Doctors are very thorough and will give you a call to update you on your pets health. (I like that part). Their pricing is very reasonable compared to other animal hospitals. We like it there.

Yesterday my 16 week old puppy had vaccinations at his vets. A few hours later he started having an allergic reaction and his face swelled along with his eyes, he started acting very irritable and shaking his head and scratching his face. I rushed to Big Bend Animal Hospital because it is right around the corner from my house and it was rush hour traffic and I couldn’t reach our vet. When I arrived I went inside and informed them what was going on. They asked me if we were current clients and I told them we are not. The girl at the front went to ask the vet if they could see us and we were told they didn’t have the time for us and we needed to go somewhere else! They sent us away with a TINY 3 pound puppy having allergic reactions in rush hour traffic to go to Brandon or Tampa!! Luckily I called Boyette Animal Hospital and they told us to head over even though we aren’t clients there either! My puppy had to have 2 shots to stop his reaction! They at least cared to make sure he was stable even if they had to send us to an after hours clinic but thankfully it didn’t come to that! Shame on Big Bend Animal Hospital for the lack of decency or care for something that could have turned out way worse! We will never return to their establishment! Would give zero stars if I could!

Good COVID safety precautions. Got both dogs in for checkup and all thier shots. Best of all close to home.

I had my Dachshund for 15 years. In his last 5 years of life, we were taking him here to Big Bend. From the beginning they knew how to handle my aggressive dog, and refused to use sedation on him for his aggression when his last vet was quick to. They simply tried different ways of approach until they found one that worked. The doctor always gave us several options of care, and always started with the one of lowest cost, and continued until we found the issue. She was the reason we were able to discover a tumor in my dogs stomach. And although he didn’t live much longer after that, we were able to tell when it was time because we knew what was wrong and that gave us peace. I now take my Akita there and once again she is patient and gives me options on care, and never charges for unnecessary things. Even when I panicked she reassured me and only tested for what was necessary. She’s the only Vet I will trust with my pets.

We had an emergency with our dog so my wife called and confirmed a 10:40 am appointment. Great. I get there and they tell me, based on my last name, that my appointment is actually for 12:20 the next day. I ask them to please verify that because I heard my wife make the appointment. Nope, not for today. So as I’m scrambling to find a vet, my wife calls to find out what happened to our appointment. Turns out that we actually did have a 10:40 appointment, the person answering the phone just didn’t bother to check. Their solution was to bring my dog back, and they would try to see her sometime that day. If you have any other option besides Big Bend Animal Hospital, I would do that.

Too many people handling my fur baby & yet no one really knows what’s going on. Didn’t read the chart so never did address which antibiotics to give him until after I got the bill & I went back for more information. Never addressed my request for meds for thunderstorms. Wouldn’t apply military discount to 2 bills in same day “bc it was closed out.” Why am I still shuffling my dog outside, never meeting the vet, communicating over the phone when you aren’t really listening & yet paying a $61 office visit fee? Very disappointed w/this office. I’ve never, ever felt so frustrated w/my fur baby care! Ciara took one for the team. Staff walked by outside w me visibly upset & did not intervene.

Well first off they’re rude. Snap at you on the phone. Snap at you when you arrive. They still don’t allow people in their office which is fine but your left cooling your heels outside for quite awhile. I’ve asked for my dogs nails to be trimmed twice. If they actually do trim the nails it’s difficult to tell. I love my dogs and I want the best for them. Sometimes I feel Like I am dealing with a used car salesperson. Trying to gouge me on the extended warranty. Making me feel guilty if I don’t buy it. We are actually moving and won’t be using them anymore. But that would have been the case if we stayed. We only used them for convenience. They’re close by. Honestly the entire staff should enroll in a customer service/personality improvement seminar.

As Curly's parents we are happy with the services offered by Big Bend this far. Curly is doing well with your prompt care and follow-ups. Thanks for everything you do to keep our furry baby healthy and cheerful. We are not seeing any scope of improvement to note at this time. Thanks.

I had a puppy apt and they canceled after I arrived. Not professional at all.

The grooming was a mess on my schnauzer cut. They offer to redu but I was in energency at St. JOSEPH so I could not take her but cut is so bad that I daubt it could be fixed.
