I found this vet after my dog hurt her foot. I liked them so much I wanted to follow up with them. My second visit to the practice for the follow up was great too. The staff was all friendly and the vet seemed like he really understood my pet and her needs. It’s important to have good medical care when you need it. It’s important for your pets too. I’m really happy I found this vet. Thank you to them.

Definitely recommend! Had to take my pit here in December after getting into a fight with a cat. (Safe to say she did not win this fight) her battle scars got infected and she had a fever of 104, would not eat, and limping on the leg where I assume she was bit/scratched. From the moment I walked in the ladies working the front desk were amazing. It only took about 20 minutes (no appointment) to see Dr. Crystal Welling who was extremely informative and compassionate. You can tell she truly loves her job and wants to help. The same day only hours after taking the prescribed antibiotics my dog was eating again, and barely limping. Thanks again to all of the staff at VMC. Hopefully I will not have to return but if I do, it will be at this location!

My dog was sick with diarrhea that suddenly progressed in frequency. Things took a turn when she began vomiting at 3:00am and she started not acting herself. They took my dog in right away. They were very efficient and caring, recommended she stay for observation and treatment for 24hrs. When I left her she was very weak, drooly, just sick. 24 hrs later I picked her up and she was herself again. They answered my calls throughout the day and were quick to give me updates on her. I am so so happy they were there for me in the middle of the night and took such excellent care of my baby girl. Cannot thank the team at veterinary medical center of PSL enough! ????

I went to this hospital at 430 AM with my dog who'd had a seizure and I knew that her time with me was over. The staff was very professional and treated us with respect and care. It was an emotional time, but the staff made saying good bye to my girl less traumatic.

We lost our 11 year old pitbull who was not just a dog but the biggest part of our family. The staff here were not only professional but extremely compassionate and empathic to not only our feelings & grieving process but to the respect and care of our angel. They have made a customer for life out of us.

I 1st went to Veterinary Medical Center of Saint Lucie County when my pet was in distress unfortunately she passed. They were so compassionate and caring. I now have an adorable healthy Yorkie and will continue to see the same Dr and use this facility for all my pets needs. They are wonderful

I took my puppy there at midnight the day he was neutered. He seemed to be having a reaction to anesthesia and was very agitated and even with the meds our vet gave to calm him he was just pacing and would not sit, lay or sleep unless I held him. The vet veterinary medical center of St Lucie was good and gave us something to help with anxiety but said if that didn’t help to call back and they would prescribe something else. It did not work and I called 4 times today starting at 10am to get something else prescribed and each time I was told they would call me back. It is now 8 pm and I have heard nothing and I have a puppy that will not sleep and wants to run around and rough house. I am very disappointed

We are very new to the area and our 13 year old dog had a tooth infection. We brought her to the E.R at Veterinary Medical Center where we were greeted with very compassionate folks. They got us into a room in 15 minutes.Mind you this was Christmas week 2021, The vet said she would need surgery and scheduled us in for December 29,2021.Now that's was above and beyond caring for our first ime visit I would recommend the Veterinary Medical Center to everyone. Happy New Year 2022 .

Very pleased with this office. People are warm and treated my dog lovingly and with patience. The tell tale is that Ember doesn't mind going there. They also have services such as grooming, boarding and training so it's covenient. And they are an emergency clinic as well. This will be our Veterinarian when we are south.

I brought my dog in yesterday for an emergency visit, knowing something was wrong but afraid everyone would think I was crazy. Every team member was so kind to both myself and my dog Rocco. Dr Lapsley was super nice and smart and made the instant diagnosis that my dog had hurt his neck. As a nurse, I had a laundry list of potential diagnoses but this news was an unexpected relief! I instinctually knew something was wrong with him and the veterinary team listened and assured me. After some instructions and medications we were on our way to healing. Thank you all- Melanie Welsh

One of my worst nightmares happened this holiday season. I came into the ER terrified, embarrassed, feeling every emotion. My dog ingested almost 2.5 pounds of chocolate. A technician who I didn’t catch his name, triaged Diesel quickly and calmly, and immediately brought him to the back for treatment. Diesel has always been scared at the vet and is dog aggressive, which made me so much more anxious about being there. He reacted so well to the technician’s energy - that in itself spoke volumes about my experience here. Please update your website with staff names, they are so important and a vital part to this hospital. From receptionists to technicians to assistants and doctors, the team here is great. Dr. Lapsley was kind, informative, and realistic with Diesel’s care. On top of the chocolate, Diesel also vomited a squeaker - which was a foreign body surgery waiting to happen. A huge wake up call for me. I am so appreciative to have these individuals working in the community to care for some of our most important family members. Everyone was compassionate and patient, even though they were super busy. Endless compliments and thanks to each of you who had a hand in Diesel’s care! He is doing well and oddly enjoyed his adventure with you :)

It was better this time around regarding useful information and prevention plan. Last time after the visit I had to call 3 times and ask what can I do for Prevention, and nobody got back with me and I gave up. To be honest because I was back this time for the same issue (because of no Prevention method was discussed), I should have been severely discounted. This appointment the vet took the time, discussed real alternatives, but to keep open to possibilities of treatment in near future. Overall the prices keep going up (quoted $100 more for services than the quote 8 months ago). I don't believe certain diagnostic testing on a small cat should amount to more than a human has to pay for the same thing.

I ended up here with my cat a couple nights ago. Turns out my cat was just being a drama queen and was perfectly fine, but I’m glad I had a great experience here to give me and my family some peace of mind. I had a TERRIBLE experience with one of my past pets at ANOTHER VET ER in town so I was worried going here, but it ended up being so wonderful. Staff was kind, caring, took their time and listened to my concerns. I never felt rushed and they definitely had my cat’s best interest in mind! I’m glad there was actually nothing wrong with my cat, but I’m confident that if there was, I would have just as positive an experience! If you have an animal emergency, this is definitely the place to go!!!

We went there with my dog in labor. The first puppy was having trouble to come out. They was good getting the first puppy out, and then everything went wrong after that. We got a x-ray, and everything was still good. The only thing surprised me, that the vet didn’t let the mom eat the first placenta. Everybody know who had puppies, that the mom needs to eat the first few placenta to give them energy and nutrients to get through the labor after most of them not eating for 24 hours before the puppies come. Ok I didn’t say anything. Firs big mistake! Basic knowledge a vet should know. Even the staff should know if the vet has to step out. That’s why she had no energy to push the second puppy out, and needed a injection. We was waiting for the paper work when the second puppy started coming. The vet said she takes her in to watch her to she writes the paper work. I was glad. After some times she came asking me if it’s ok to give the mom a injection because the sack is ruptured and she can get the puppy out. I said sure. But we lost least 3 minutes for her to come and talk to me.That’s a long time at that point. I was very nervous. I asked one of the young girl if I could please see the dog. Answer, yes we can stop working on the puppy, and bring them out. I said oh no please don’t stop working on him, I’m just very scared. Later the vet came and talked to me, she said they still working on the puppy. She thought I was arrogant, because I turned my head on the side, and I was shaking my head. I was asking her if I could go in, and see the dog, She said she sending the manager and I could talk to him, because I’m questioning their job. After that a girl brings the mom out with the other puppy, and I asked how the other puppy is doing. She said we stopped working on it so you can see him. I was shocked. I was asking where is the dead puppy over and over, and she’s looking at me with a sarcastic attitude. I was digging in the box looking for the dead puppy. Finally I find him, and I started giving him mouth to mouth , shaking him. Run to the front desk crying please someone come and help. No one even looked it me. I’m still giving mouth to mouth to the puppy, when the owner came. He was just as arrogant than the young girl. When my 15 year old son said something to him, that’s when he changed his attitude little bit. They told us we don’t have to pay, and live. I still send my son to the front desk asking for the bill, but they didn’t give us one. The other thing the vet told me the puppy was breathing first, the owner told me the puppy was stillborn. After we came home we had three more puppies with no problem.

My shih tzu needed a bordatella booster and well dog exam. We saw Dr. Johnson and were very impressed. Her calm and playful way put our dog at ease. She answered many questions with full explanation and lots of patience. We were very impressed with her and the entire practice. We feel our visit was a great experience.

Considering the ongoing COVID crisis, I was both surprised and disappointed that masks were not required in the facility.

Just go somewhere, anywhere else. I thought they were great, until I tried (days in advance) to make an appointment for my poor dog who is having an allergic reaction. The deleted my request, and when I called, they said that rhymed couldn’t help me until Monday. They absolutely did not care that they messed up on 3-4 several different occasions. They said I would have to pay an emergency price or come on mo day, when I tried to make my appointment well in advance. Then, when I calmly asked the receptionist to please stop talking over me, she hung up on me. Just do yourself a favor. Don’t go here. They are way overpriced, but convenient. So I tried them out. There are so many vets around, just do yourself a favor and go somewhere that actually cares about your animal.

The care and compassion of everyone at this facility was much appreciated. The day we had to put our Rebel down was extremely difficult. Everyone we dealt with was kind, caring, and compassionate. Many Thanks to everyone there.

we are regular patients at this facility, well were. had an emergency where my 98 lb male hurt his leg outside playing, went in his kennel and would not come out. I started calling the vet the following morning at 8:45, as the dog would still not come out. I made followup calls every two hours looking for advice because I could not get the dog out to take to emergency vet. After I called every two hours, I finally got a return phone call at 3:40pm stating that I need to bring him in. I again explained the situation, and said I need something for pain to alleviate enough for me to get him into the vehicle and to them. I was offered absolutely nothing, but to keep saying bring him in. I could understand if we were not already patients, but this vet just saw him 6 weeks ago for leg pain. The same leg. They could have told me this at 8:45 this morning and I could have looked elsewhere, but 6:45 on a Saturday afternoon offers little time for alternatives. Some people should not be in the business of caring for others. I caution you about this place. We will not be back. Ever.

Nice new facility , great to know there's a top notch pet emergency clinic locally! Peace of mind. Updated 10/26 sadly this vet is now to big to get the attention your pet needs. If it's not an emergency would be the caveat to this review, I had to bring my rottie in for a bad urinary infection and 5 days later after having her urine sent to a lab, I've not yet received the results. They just keep saying that the Dr is with other dogs,I d wouldn ow longer would recommend this vet

They always take great care if my pups ????. It's really nice how they always try to make my pups feel as comfortable as possible. The one veterinarian truly enjoys her job, which is really great to see.

Had to go here for an urgent care visit after hours on a Friday night. Had a bit of a wait, but the staff and veterinarian were so friendly - they made us feel very welcome and took wonderful care of my dog. I am glad to have a nice ER vet like this nearby, and I would consider using their other services (grooming/boarding/daycare/etc.) if needed!
