New manager does not care about animals at all, or have any experience. Heard directly from an employee of the shelter he insisted on euthanizing animals for being “ugly and unadpotable” when absolutely nothing was wrong with them. Disgusting to hear from a supposed “no kill shelter”. If you love animals, do not support this shelter. Disgusted with this behavior.

I adopted a beautiful pit bull mix named koco and she loves her new home. The people who work there are so awesome and helpful.

I adopted a kitty from there. The kitty died shortly later (4 days after) because it had a collapsed lung. The doctor told me he was either born with it or his past owner dropped him. This kitty was sick and they handed him over to me sick without me knowing. They need to take care of their animals better and check up on them. All I can say is be careful adopting a pet from them. I’m disappointed and devastated. ;(

I want to give the St Lucie County Humane Society my highest possible review... Today, I had to put my 13.5 year old boxer to sleep... The vet and staff were beyond outstanding... What a difficult day for me, but Sofia especially and Dr. Craig were so kind, caring, sweet, understanding, and patient... Today was a very difficult day, but they were so kind.

Why did The Humane Society of St. Lucie County allow us to put Nate on hold yesterday, then deny us the opportunity to adopt him today? Was this a hustle to get free money from us? He behaved the same with us as he did with the other people we saw him with today and yesterday. We're disappointed, but we're moving on.

Great place, but that front desk lady needs a job where there's no people to bother with.

Even thou someone bit me to have a female Chihuahua. Place is clean and smelled clean. Will try again. My Chihuahua passed 3 weeks ago and miss her dearly.

They had a lot of dogs and cats available to adopt and they really seem to work hard to get them as adoptable as possible. So adopt don't buy.

Helpful and friendly staff. The facilities are well maintained and clean for the animals. You can tell they really care about what they do and who they serve.

The lady with black hair at the front desk who calls herself the front desk “manager” so you can’t actually speak to the real manager, is the rudest person I’ve come across. She doesn’t care about the dogs being adopted out, she tried up charging me $100, $350 when I was told $250 the day before. Trying to pocket $100? She was doing everything in her power to not let me go home with this beautiful dog. This lady needs to be fired, I’ve read through others reviews and many people have complained about her. Fire her! She is rude, inconsiderate, argumentative and does not care about these animals finding good homes!!!

Visited the facility to donate food which was my beloved Beagles who just went over the Rainbow Bridge. I was pleasantly greeted and was given assistance with carrying the food inside. The facility itself was neat and organized and the volunteers outside seemed to be enjoying their interaction with the dogs. Under my circumstances it was a pleasant experience!

Went to look at adopting a dog, the staff are courteous and knowledgeable and just want the best for the dogs.

This place has come so far in the last several years since I last adopted my dog Bella from there. I was there today 8/10, and you can tell these dogs are properly being cared for. There's fresh water in the bowls, kennels are clean, treats available, training, medical care, and 3 walks per day for each animal. I was very impressed. It felt like a new shelter and considering all things the dogs seemed to be in good spirits. The amount of dogs that are being surrendered breaks your heart and they're almost at capacity. If I could, I would have brought them all home. This is a really good shelter, and they need your help in finding homes for these pups. Please consider checking them out and rescuing your next dog.

I brought in a donation of pillows towels blankets comforters etc. I try to do this every other month plus I donate money I cannot donate to much but 25.00 a month I'm sure helps. I have a pup but I would like to adopt another pup very soon but my Cappy has the last say. I would like to donate some food and toys as soon as I have my closing. The people there were very happy with the donation they always need towels blankets and such. And I donated to their thrift shop all new clothes watches costed jewelry etc. Every little bit helps support your local humane society its a no kill shelter. And the volunteers really love the dogs. Its the best thing you can do.

The people at the front desk seem like they don’t want to work or be there. Me and my significant other went to adopt a dog and they seemed like they didn’t even want us seeing it. Need better front desk workers !!

A clean no-kill shelter where they have behavior specialists who work with the animals, in order to make them more adoptable.

The facility was nice and the dogs were also pretty nice. However, the best part is my Prince found a new friend. She is a very sweet and loving dog and we are so glad to have her.

DONT WASTE YOUR TIME! there’s definitely better places to go to. The experience i had, the lady at the front desk and short with me and my husband and very rude! They overprice everything and are extremely disorganized. Even heard a guy saying his bills weren’t right. horrible.
