I wouldn't recommend anyone using them as a first time vet , I've had several different vets over the years and I've never had to wait over 2 1/2 hrs for my puppy to get two shots that took 2 min , and one of the lady working How do …

I called ahead to inform them my 9 mo old puppy had colapsed and was coughing up. We were told to call when we arrive in the parking lot, when we got there they met us out in the parking lot to fill out paperwork and said they would have a vet tech come out and check her for parvo even though she was fully vaccinated. We waited 20 minutes before I had to go back in and ask someone to come out and see her as she was still coughing up blood and no one had even looked at her at this point. I just don't understand how you can tell them that your dog is coughing up blood after collapsing and they make you sit and wait in the parking lot for 20 minutes and then I had to remind them to come out and look at her.

Dr. Smith said that my one year old kitty has had severe infection under tongue. Her front teeth jaw looked like broke to me. Dr. Smith said it did not broke. It confused me. The way, she explained me it did not make sense cause my feelings mixed. She suggested that my kitten stay hospital and clean an infection and stay for 3 days it cost over $2,000. I decided to deny her. I told her to give my kitten antibiotics meds. I took my kitten to second opinion vet different place. Vet explained me very clearly and made sense to me that my kitten's jaw dislocated cause her front teeth crooked. He referred my kitten to specialty dentist. Her infection under tongue gone, no more infection. Listen your vibe what ur pets needs, not let them take advantage of u for money.

If I could give less than a star I would. They were not clear at all about their costly services. They lied and said costs would be presented to make choices about service. Worthless care.

I personally love this clinic! And they follow COVID guidelines!!! I have learned and experienced as well that It is so important to remember that it is also an emergency clinic so estimated times are hard for the front desk people to confirm and I respect that, and I was completely okay with waiting even though it was quite a long while, but 3 critical pets did come while I was waiting and realized it was going to be another hour(s) or so, I asked the front desk how much longer and they are open to inform me that critical patients were brought in and they needed to assist the immediate critical patients (just like a human ER) and I respected that and waited, luckily they didn’t forget about me lol! They finally seen me and my baby brought me into a clean room and it went great! He is doing so much better, they communicated with me extremely well. And they are so extremely busy!!!! They have another wellness building by appointments only and they are now my primary vet for my basic annual check ups and etc. I love them so extremely much. The staff is so incredibly friendly, sometimes they get overwhelmed themselves which is understandable because they’re human too and the emergency clinic is chaotic but sometimes I felt they were rushing me a bit but In reality they were just juggling 200 things at once (we all been there before lol). The emergency clinic is similar to a human emergency clinic, be prepared to wait a bit no matter what time (yes they are 24/7) . I read the reviews here before the first time I came here with my baby and I was nervous but this clinic is great! Just make sure to come in with patience, respect of others, and a good mutual understanding on how things can or may go. Things can be a bit pricey but it’s worth every dime, the emergency fee and walk in fee was 125$ plus whatever else got done with my baby but thank GOD I have credit care and really good pet insurance, it was worth every dime spent and my baby is doing much muchhh better <3 I really made sure I took the time to make this review especially for any other concerned owners (like myself) just looking for a good ER to take care of their sick-not themselves babies in a rush of time ): it’s scary! But deep breaths. Try to come to the ER if you have no appointments or work or anything you need to do In a timely manner, I warned you!!! Lol. Thank you Oviedo Vet Care and Emergency for everything you all do!! Vet staff does not get appreciated enough, you all are amazing and thank you for taking care of our animals!!! My dog says *woof (thank) woof (you) * as well lol :’D. AGAIN HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE, ITS CLEAN, SANITIZED, WORTH THE PATIENCE, MONEY, AND TIME <3 5 stars from me ❤️

Update: They gave me an update to why the tail was shaved off. I asked them to communicate with owners with the procedures. If it wasn't for the heart attack on the miscommunication, I would give this place a 5. People are nice, the facility is clean. But I'm keeping my experience below for others reference. My cat had a UTI issue. He had catheter put in, and hospitalized for 3days. They tried to charge me for 4 days. Pretty much took me more than half day to reach them. They had left a voice mail saying I had to call you schedule a pick up, not being able to reach them. On hold for 15mins is the norm. They get very busy. Voice mail in the AM said that I need to schedule a release appointment. I called them, and they told them that they had to call me back. Did not hear back so I tried reaching them the whole day. Anyway, I am writing this because they shaved him all over without consent or communication..Tip of his tail, not where had catheter was, was randomly shaved off, and is paws were shaved off. (Three total)I know for a fact that this was not necessary as my other cat had the same issue a couple years back. They explained to me few days later that it's due to them using a very sticky tape to stick the catheter on. They did all this without telling us. They had to reinstall the catheter and since there was a break the connection. My cat had to go under the stress of anesthesia AND they tried to charge us for this. I did argue about this and they did comp it. My cat had beautiful hair, and I understand if there is a good reason for this. But when I called, they had no idea. I am waiting for another technician to call me back, but from the experience from the last few days, this place never calls back. I will follow up again to see if I can get a better explanation, but I am beyond sad and angry right now. Expect around $2100 for catheter and 3 night stay. I had to negotiate to get it down a little which I absolutely hate doing, but I had to as it was not what I had agreed to. (Also note, they make you pay the high-end of the estimate prior to any treatment) Most workers here are very nice, so I wanted to like this place, but this is unbelievable and unacceptable. I am going to get answers. --> They gave me a call back a few days later. Updating my stars to 4 as the care was good. My cat is back to normal now.

We have had to take several of our cats here because we couldn't get an appt with our vet for days when the animal was sick. We have never had great experience but this time was the worst. The wait times are ridiculous, the staff don't wear masks (currently there is a big COVID surge), they over charge for everything, and they try to push unnecessary tests. They told us our cat needed to be sedated (had to pay $75 for general anesthesia because they didn't know how to handle our cat) because he was hissing ...we have never had this problem before with this cat & never even heard him hiss. Our cat is a big male but very sweet. We were kept in a loud waiting room for 3 hours full of dogs..it was loud & stressful. The cat came in lethargic with sneezing & runny eyes yet they sold us on $400 in x-rays to 'rule out intestinal blockage" though he had no signs of a blockage. In the end we walked out with an $850 bill that indicated nothing was wrong with the cat (because they did a bunch of unnecessary tests). They also tried to sell us unnecessary medications & misrepresented the uses of certain medications. When I asked the vet about the sneezing, coughing, and runny eyes after he read negative results from unnecessary tests, he replied "oh he probably has the herpes virus - cats get that " after changing us for anesthesia, unnecessary x-rays, and trying to sell us unnecessary medication. In retrospect, I believe our cat has a viral "cold" and am really angry at our vet for telling us to take him to this place. I got him to eat & rehydrate by feeding him chicken with clear broth.

It's rare to see an animal ER with good reviews, but this place is the real deal. They saved my dog, who had several grand mal seizures, and despite always being crazy busy, they really make an effort with their customer service. All of the techs, front desk staff, and doctors made a big deal out of my dog and really went out of their way to make us feel calm during the worst night of our lives. I will be going to them as my regular vet from now on because how impressed we were with their service. Can't recommend enough.

I took my cat in for blood in urine. Waited 2.5 hours and only got an update from the staff about my wait of I left the exam room to ask. The facility is clearly under staffed in vets, as I was told another animal was coding so it would be another 1.5-2 hours. (12:30 am at this point.) There was no reason for the lack of communication regarding expected wait times.

I took my guinea pig here that was sick and they took great care of him and were very knowledgeable. If you have an emergency with your guinea pig this is the best place around for after hours.

It’s a very sad story, but they treated me and my kitten with compassion and respect after she passed away. To give a little backstory and encourage all pet owners to be very cautious.. my 6 month old kitten escaped from her carrier at a DIFFERENT vet clinic due to a tech failing to zip her carrier shut. She was missing for four days before being hit by a car and killed. That’s when Oviedo Veterinary Care and Emergency came into the story. I brought my kitten to their clinic to be cremated and every staff member I interacted with treated me with such kindness and care. What really set the experience apart was in the details. The technician helping me spoke to me in such a soft kind way. She was very thorough in making sure all the details of her cremation were the way I wanted them and even asked if I wanted my baby to be cremated with any of her belongings. She very considerately offered to clean my baby off so I could hold her and say goodbye. They also offered a fur clipping which they put in a really nice little vile with her name written on it. When I came in to pick up her ashes, the staff again gave their condolences. I can’t personally speak for their actual care, but during a very devastating situation, they treated me with the compassion I desperately needed.

Extremely glad I brought my fur babies here. They take care of them as if they were their own, and that’s truly appreciated because it lets me know that they’re in great care.. so whether it’s an emergency or a regular checkup, I feel safe bringing them here. It’s affordable as well, and they do offer different packages, carecredit is also acceptable here. Everyone is sooooo nice, and they make sure to answer every question you have, and help with any concern.. they’re not about “ grab your money and go” no, they’re good people who you can tell enjoy their profession, and love animals.

My Fiance and I adopted our dog 4 months ago and after much research decided that Oviedo Vet was the best place we could find in the area. We went here for all his puppy shots to make sure he would be a patient. Yesterday, my fiance and I were both at work and the puppy somehow escaped and ate multiple pouches of hot cocoa mix. As soon as we got home we called the vet stating that it was an emergency and we were prepared to bring him right in. We were told that we couldn't bring him and that we had to call poison control, pay $65 to talk to someone, then get the directive to bring our puppy to them with a case file number. We pleaded with them to ask if they could just speak with a vet to see if the amount he consumed was dangerous but they wouldn't answer any of our questions. Just keep saying that we have to call poison control before they would help us. As first-time dog owners we were truly hurt by their refusal to help us in our emergency or try to help our puppy.

We had to take my Boston Terrier late Friday night after chasing a cat and scratching on concrete pulled the entire nail out of the nail bed. The staff was very professional, attentive and took care of us right away. They were very good with telling us exactly what was happening and the next steps. The fee for the service was very reasonable for urgent care. I would definitely recommend this vet care center. I'm so thankful to have this location which is very close to my home and open at night for emergencies.
