I have always been a contributor to the spca.. But I had my eyes opened after my sister and brother-in-law went to go adopt a dog last week. They had lost their dog due to old age and medical issues, and they were helped bye the staff at this facility. They fell in love with a dog name Ruger, and one lady with blonde hair who goes by Diana, Even went so far is to help my sister with the type of leash that Ruger was gonna need and my sister’s hopes were raised after she told the story of them losing their dog and they were so excited about getting the new Pet! They were told by Diana that they would hear by them by Wednesday(that was today) and they should be able to pick him up as long as the references checked out. My sister called and called from this morning on and NEVER received a call about The status of the dog. Finally your husband was able to get through and he was told that Ruger was adopted by another family! It was never told to them that there were 14 other families looking at the same dog. Not only is the cost astronomical to adopt which they were willing to put out, but you would assume that they would at least give a call or at least let them know on the day that they visit that there may not be a chance that they won’t be getting the dog. After such a hard week last week mourning the loss of their family dog and then after getting their hopes up of getting a new member for their family, I pursued with writing this! It just does not make sense to me where they want us to be serious about adoption as serious as if it’s adopting a child, because my sister did and she still crying. So dear sweet Diana I don’t know who’s in charge of returning phone calls, but when we were told that Ruger was adopted on a Monday and your office is supposedly closed on a Monday I think you guys need a new supervisor and you need a new job out of the SPCA

The facility is clean and the animals are well cared for. The staff is extremely kind and helpful. They truly care about the animals and they do their very best to place them in a good home that is suitable for the pet. I highly recommend the Spca of Pasco. Thank you for Maggie . We’re in love with her.

Recently I had to surrender my little poodle and I was heartbroken but I had no choice . I knew my little doggie would have a better home if he lived in a quieter environment , out in the country . Diane at the SPCA West Pasco was so kind and understanding to my concerns .Also before I left the facility I saw a wonderful outpouring of love and affection to our little dog. I knew he was in good hands . I am praying that he is re-homed to people that will give him lots of attention and land to roam around . Thank you West Pasco SPCA.

Didn’t really see the inside because I dropped off some things for the animals like towels and collars and leashes and a cat carrier that I can’t use anymore but the place was well protected with a high chain link fence and the property was enormous and clean, a worker came to the gate when I rang the buzzer and took the donation from me.. I happened to bring the donation there on a day when the place was closed it was the only day I had time.????????????????

I've adopted several animals from here. Always great. Adopted a cat back in December which love! HE needs a friend. I went by today. Website and sign posted said you were open but I called and they were closed. Frustrating but I will go by again on Saturday.

⚠️They were beautiful bogs however you could tell they wasn't getting enough attention.⚠️ Example : a family of 4 brought a pit bull, bullmastiff mix dog in a little under a year old. You could tell by looking at it that is had been in several fights and haven't had enough food if any in a long time.✨ When we seen it we walked over to the dog. He got really happy and sat down waging his tale and we started petting it.✨ When we finally decided we needed to get home, we had over heard the employee say that dog is "vary vicious and needed to be separated from any and all others" ???? We was confused seeing how we had just petted it. The cats are in dirty cages and smelled so bad ⚠️

When I became homeless, I was faced with giving up my two beloved cats. I tried everything to find a private foster family, but in the end, all I could do was drop them off at a shelter. No place would take them but SPCA Suncoast. Even without an appointment, they could see my desperation and despair and took pity on me AND my fur babies. They may not be perfect, but they were there in my time of need. Thanks y'all.

A very clean shelter with low adoption fees and plenty of cats and dogs that could use a good home. Looking for your next best friend? These people have you covered.
