We have been coming to this location for a good 3yrs now. I no longer live on the beach but I still come to this same location. Highly recommend them, great caring team here! Thank you VCA Miami Beach.

I have been there quite a few times. My last appointment was very stressful for my cat. She is 14 years old and has a few issues already. I went to run blood test since she had been having some trouble breathing, eating and going to the bathroom. They changed her previous doctor (without letting us know or asking if we wanted to change doctors) who had been with her many times before and my cat enjoyed her presence. The new doctor, who was inexperienced, spent about 5 minutes in the room with us. When she took her to the back, they tried to take her blood 4 times (without my consent to try more than once) and were unsuccessful. She did not give us any explanation to what could be wrong whatsoever. The staff was very inexperienced. I left without even being able to know what was wrong with my cat. I called about two days later asking some questions and was left on hold for about 25 minutes with no response. The front desk never knows the answers for whatever I ask and always has to rely on someone else to answer me. Again, very inexperienced. They never return my calls. I will reach out to over vets and find a better place to take her.

I just moved here 4 months ago. My bully has hip dysplasia with prescription dog food, allergies with prescription meds, and came to me abused which has a slew of behavioral hurdles that also has prescription medication, I also travel once a month or so and don’t know anyone here so I needed somewhere to board her. So I needed to find a regular vet down here in Miami STAT. Thankfully, VCA Alton Road checks all the boxes. Let me tell you…. The people at VCA Alton Road treat her like she is their own. They get excited to see her, they’re sad to see her go, and they really pay attention to her and her needs. I’ve seen them greet her in packs with smiles, open arms, and excitement in their voices to see her. They give her back to me in groups with soft hearts to say their sad goodbyes and I can feel so much GENUINE love and care in the staff for her. That goes really, really far for me. My dog was heavily abused when I picked her up as a puppy. She’s afraid of everything and everyone but has a heart as big as the sun. It takes her a long time to warm up to people and she’s never liked going to the vet…though it took a few visits, she is okay with the people there and will now leave me willingly without having to coax her or pretend to walk with her like I did before. She’s never achieved that with any vet. Last visit she even walked to the scale on her own without needing to be lead to it! I love this place and the staff within it…and so does my dog, Keeva, which matters most to me. Thanks for all you do!

All the staff have been great since the first time I started coming in with my cat Evita they have been kind, caring and responsive throughout my cat's healthcare journey. Dr. Corella and her staff have treated Evita as if she was their own pet. Though I have moved further away from this location I still make the drive to go here specifically. I have full trust in Dr. Corella and her staff to treat my pet with care and compassion

Dr Martin is fantastic. She goes above and beyond to help her clients. She understands how to both provide competent medical advice and help owners throughout meaningful decisions on their furball friends.

I can not say enough about the professionalism, compassion and care I have experienced at Alton Road Animal Hospital. Their vets are highly-qualified, expertly-trained and they treat the animals with love. They have gone above and beyond when my dog has needed care. You can see clearly that the entire medical team is passionate about what they do. If you live in the area, you're lucky to have a top-quality facility available to you 7 days a week. Highly recommended!

It’s a shame as to how much this hospital has changed for the worse. Different front desk,, nurses, different management. It has made me realize with how I have been treated that corporate owned animal clinics treat their loyal clients not like pet owners they want to help but that we are dispensable. I prefer a more personalized experience for my dogs to which I found locally, luckily not too far. If I am being honest it’s also a shame to see their own nurses embarrassing their receptionist online and I really liked a lot of the staff. That is not OK for any business. It’s sad too. After almost 6 years I just can’t step foot into a place that clearly doesn’t match the value of service to their high cost. Not to mention their post share clients information that I shaded over but was visible. They think this is ok?

Took my kitty to get bloodwork done for her spaying. I was told Dr. Owens would call me TWO DAYS after when the results where in to go over them and schedule her spay appointment. A week went by without a call so I had to check-in with the office, they said the Dr would call me when she was done with a patient that day, I still did not hear from her. I called AGAIN a few days later, I was given the same response. I was upset and asked for another doctor to give me the results to move forward with the spaying, I was told that wasn’t possible, only the same doctor that did the bloodwork could give me the results. TO THIS DAY I STIL HAVE NOT RECEIVED A CALL from the Dr.Owens to explain the results of the bloodwork. What a shame! I payed $125 for an incomplete job. I now have to take the results to be read by another Vet elsewhere, pay more and possibly have more bloodwork done. TERRIBLE experience!!! DO NOT RECOMMEND!

VCA Miami Beach used be a great place to take your pet and get the assistance they needed. I’ve taken my dog there since he was 6 months old…. He is 16 now. Today, September 9th at 6pm, my dog had an emergency and I needed to see the vet. They were busy and had one vet working. I asked to please see my dog and that I won’t mind waiting for as long as I have too. To my surprise they said no! We cannot see your dog today, after 16 years of going there, that’s the thanks my lol guy get?! To be kicked out if there while in his last moments?!! No compassion at all and no appreciation either! I will never ever ever go back there and I would recommend anyone that loves their pet to stay away and go somewhere else that will actually care for your pet!

It’s been over a year and 1/2 since I have been here and wow things have changed. It’s a shame all the staff my pups and I bonded with for many years and they made me feel secured going there, Dr Barr, the managers, even some receptionist and nurses are all gone I asked if they were there to vent my displeasure since I was having such a poor experience, they all were gone. It shows with the type of customer service and consideration they give to their long time clients now, it was a miserable visit. Yet I was paying for what seems now was over priced visit. I already did my recheck down the street switched over after 6 years to go with an actual caring service.

Just moved to Miami Beach and was lucky to find such a great place walking distance! Great convenient location and with so many vets on staff they were able to accommodate appts quickly and were honest about what needed to be done without the use of anesthesia which be an unnecessary stress and cost. Bravo to your great work and dedication!! They really do love their furry clients!

I found out about an elderly community cat who lived outside and had not eaten or drank for more than 48 hours. I took her late on Friday evening in August 2021 to VCA Alton Road. Dr. Corella was the doctor on duty. I'd rather not share the details here... I will say that Lola did not respond to basic treatments. Dr. Corella did everything she could to make Lola comfortable... Because Lola was a community cat, Dr. Corella offered to take care of all fees for professional services. That was very generous of her and I thank VCA Alton Road for taking care of everything for me and for Lola. I very much appreciate it!

My awesome cat died today and no thanks to the heartless staff here. I was out of town and desperate for help and the woman who answered was rude, hung up on me 3x and gave me no help except I could bring him in “next Friday”. He was seen within a week at this clinic and cleared and now he is dead. Thanks

I’ve been bringing my cats here since I moved to Miami and I used to recommend this hospital to everyone. I don’t know if they changed the management and staff but it’s so disorganized and unreliable. They scheduled my cat’s much needed surgery for a certain day, charged me the needed bloodwork and checkup to then cancel my surgery the day before (late afternoon) and tell me the need the don’t have space until in 3 weeks. I’m so upset, when I told them If they couldn’t do it before certain date I would go elsewhere. Definitely a money hungry hospital that doesn’t look for the customers best interest. NOT RECOMMENDED AND NOT COMING BACK

Had horrible experience with them. I brought in a rescue cat to get tested. Vet tech’s attitude was horrible, she was scared to touch the cat, she didn’t know how what to do with a scared kitten. The first thing they told me the cat has to be sedated what I wasn’t happy about but agreed to since I didn’t have any other option. In order to give her a shot they brought slip color (like for little dogs) but it on her and started to pull her choking the cat. The kitten tried to run and it was making her even more uncomfortable bc the heck was pulling her. The poor 6 month old kitten was hurting and scared so bad that she peed on herself. When I freaked out she told me my cat is feral and it’s the only one way. Girl NO, you need to get some additional training for understanding animal behavior. And it what was happening in front of me. I can’t even imagine what’s going on behind the door.

This morning I had a scare with my dog - she was itching so bad that she scratched a bunch of fur off and the skin was raw and bleeding really bad. It was obviously infected and she needed to see a vet asap. I called my regular vet (who I've always had pretty good experiences with) but they couldn't/wouldn't fit me in for 3.5 days. I then called every vet in a 25 mile radius and no one would take her (I even get turned down by an emergency vet office??). I went to VCA on Alton Road hoping that if I just walked in they would find a way to squeeze me in. Initially they told me they were at full capacity and I could wait but it could be hours before anyone saw me. Then Glen came to the rescue and personally talked to a vet in the office for me explaining the situation. He took my pup and made sure she was seen an hour later. I was so beyond relieved I almost cried. Glen is the reason I'll be switching my pup to this vet office. Thank you!!

When my furr baby was very ill this employee , Melissa was incredibly supportive during such a difficult time. I will forever be grateful because that is what you should expect because our pets are like our kids and should be treated as such.

I have both positive and disappointing feedback to include. I am not even one to take the time to do this but the phone call experience has just stuck in my mind, given I personally work for a private practice in human medicine, for Doctors, one of which owns the practice, he would not tolerate this and allow me to speak to his patients in this way, which has to do with the way a man there spoke to me. Starting with the positive part of my experience, I went to this hospital with my dog given I just moved down here from West Palm and had not established a Veterinarian yet for my doggy because I was lucky nothing had happenned to have me find a place yet. I treat him and his little doggy brother like he's my own son so I am very picky on which Doctor treats him. I have had some poor experiences in the past. Called on the weekend and I was squeezed in on a Sunday thankfully on short notice and saw a wonderful Doctor, she had blonde hair. She was so easy going, eased any of my concerns, was very sweet to my dog too (my dog is picky too!) and didn't rush me at all, took the time to answer all my questions, beyond wonderful Vet and experience. She is the reason I am going back because I trust her with my baby. I should also include the front desk receptionist that day were very kind, especially Ashley, very positive attitude even how busy it was , the Doctor's assistant in the room too, a young lady with glasses and long straight hair was very kind to me and gentle with my dog. Now the doctor specfically advised me if my pet's skin and ears that were super irritated and red did not improve to call and schedule a recheck, so 4 days later I saw an improvement with ears but not so much with the skin so I called. I called in I was placed on hold, after some time I hung up and called back, not a big deal I know based on what I saw during my visit they are busy place. Then a man answered, he spoke very fast, I felt rushed, and I just mentioned calmly I was placed on hold and I think I was forgotten, it wasn't in a complaining way either, and instead of just saying I apologize we are a bit busy how can I help you, he said "well the phone lines are busy what do you need SWEETHEART?!" Sweetheart??? Also in such a defensive tone as though I was an inconvenience! I was shocked and so unconfutable! Thank goodness I did not have him on speaker for my husband to hear this man refer to me that way. Even if I had been going there for 20 years you do NOT refer to your clients as sweetheart! . If I did that at my job I could lose my job on the spot! I am not speaking to a bartender at a nightclub in South Beach! I just hung up out of shock. I wasn't going to call back because I was so appalled. But I wanted my dog to see the same Doctor, she was so great..so I called back in about 5 minutes and luckily a female receptionist answered and I asked what men do you have there answering phones? She said only one, it's Glenn do you need to speak to him and I said NO I was just curious, she was very patient and polite and booked my next appointment, even asked me what was wrong, I should have spoke up then. I am definitely going to share this experience with the Doctor though because she needs to know this is how her clients are being spoken to, but now after posting this I am worried of him saying something rude to me. My concern is my dog anyway. I am not trying to be difficult, maybe some people dont mind, but you can be sweet, polite and helpful without calling a woman you do not know AT ALL in a business "sweet heart" and it was in was in a rushed rude way to make it worse. Maybe I am old fashion...

Let me tell you when you are looking for a place to bring your son or daughter u make sure the staff is kind friendly and attentive. The reason I bring my baby here is because the girl that works there named Melissa goes above and beyond for patients. She’s even helped me after hours. I swear if it wasn’t for her I don’t know what I would do with my self when my pet is sick. Thank you for hiring a person like this we need more people like this in the field !!!!

My friend recommended VCA to me after she took her dog here to get spay and said they did a great job so I figured I'd give them a shot since I was new to the area and needed a vet for my dog! I just moved from NYC and never quite found the right vet living up there. After our first visit with Dr. Martin, I knew my dog Chara was in good hands. I needed to get her finally spayed and get some dental work done as well! They took such great care of her and its been a month post surgery and she's like a whole new dog, running and playing like she did when she was a puppy! Dr. Martin and Glenn were so kind and professional, I definitely recommend for anyone looking for a vet who goes above and beyond for your baby!

I'm from NJ and I have a good relationship with my dogs regular vet. I googled places open & luckily VCA Miami was, not many places are open on Saturdays. The person who answered the phone was very helpful, once I told her what my dog was …

Great Place. We don’t live anywhere near Miami Beach, but it’s worth the trip. Our cat became really sick on a Sunday and finding a place where to take him was hard, but they were open until 5. We go there at around 3pm and they took us in with no problems. Checked him and let us know what needed to be done. They even gave us a call a couple of days later to check on him. The best vet I’ve visited in Miami. Highly recommended. Every time I need to take one of my cats to the vet, I’ll definitely take them here.

I love this vet office. They are open late at night and early morning and also on weekends. The office staff and techs provide excellent service and really go way beyond when explaining what they are doing and how to care for your pet. I have a new puppy and an older dog and they both get 5 star treatment. GLENN and AMBER are the very best. Such kind and wonderful people that treat your pet as if it was their own. The office is also very clean and comfortable.

VCA Alton Rd. is amazing. They really do care about both you and your pets in there. They bust their butts to make sure no one is waiting too long (not their fault bc covid) and they have taken such great care of my two cats. Alex and Glenn have been incredible with my cats and really brightened my day. The vet techs are all amazing, caring, gentle, and really know what they’re doing.
