Preppy Pet was amazing! Had some struggles with flight delays and weather yet they were super understanding and accommodating—will definitely bring my fur baby back here if I ever need to leave town again :)

I have nothing but wonderful things to say about this place. I took my dogs there to break up there week,. They have been going for 3 or more months and the change in them is wonderful. They love the staff and I love how they love seeing them. Preppy Pet in Melbourne deserves more then 5 stars, wonderful place, awesome staff!

The Preppy Pet in Melbourne was the best boarding place I've seen. It is very clean and professional. Checking in my little buddy was smooth and efficient. The price is very workable. Upon check out, my Chihuahua was clean and fresh and his nails were trimmed properly. This is where my little buddy will stay whenever I'm in the Melbourne area.

We take both our dogs here whenever we need boarding services. They are great and the dogs always have a good time. Highly recommend them.

My dog Oakley was a bit scared the first few visits, but now when I pick her up they tell me how excited she is to go see all her doggie friends when she gets through the door! I take her here to break her out of the fear of meeting new dogs and they definitely helped Oakley overcome that fear!!

My dog Bella practically tries to jump out of the car with excitement everytime we pull up even after more than a decade of coming here! I can not explain how much these owners love what they do and how amazing they are to my not only my dog, but all their animals they care for. The play time at daycare care has helped my dog from 6 months old to currently "senior" relax and remain a very loving chill dog her whole life. This preppy pets location is a blessing to our family and I will never consider any other facility! Respect always....

Seemed to me like a get in and get out. We have boarded once before this at petsmart up north. We loved it! They gave us a goodie bag and gave us a report card for each dog to let us know how they did. They were very personable as well. Not here. They came up and took our dogs immediately and didn’t allow their toys or bed like the website said. They got mad because I didn’t portion the food properly when I brought the bag of food and gave instructions and a measuring cup as if that was hard. When we went to check out they just brought the dogs up and walked back right away. And that was it. No mention how how they were or if there was any concerns or anything. Just paid and get out feeing. I tipped them because I thought you had to but I wish I didn’t. As they were short with you and rude. We won’t be back.

After reading the reviews and comments from what I assume is the female owner, I should have know this wasn't the place for us. That is on me. The fact that all of their replies they do nothing but blame the CUSTOMER and take no fault for themselves, is bad business. That is the first sign they cannot be trusted. They are a very unprofessional staff, outside from the male owner. The female owner told me one thing, I'm sure to just to ensure they get their money, but the experience for my dog was not what she made it out to be. They paint a very nice picture but the reality is not as such. Was told my dog needed picked up by 12 otherwise it's a late fee. Went at 11:15 to get my pet and the place was closed, not a single employee was there with the animals. I can somewhat understand at night but at 11:15 on a Sunday morning, I do not. Apparently they ARE NOT a 24 hour service so your pets only get partial care. Was told they all went to lunch, then when I asked I was told the lunches are staggered. Which was not the case today. My dog was kept in the kennel, they call them rooms, the ENTIRE time outside of them putting her in another cage out in the heat, alone to use the restroom. I was told and paid extra for my dog to be walked and kept away from other animals bc of her spaying surgery she was over a week out from, I didn't pay extra for her to be kept in a "room" the entire time bc you over booked the reservations. I was made to feel like my dog would have time with a tech alone so she could have some "play time", not stuck out in the sun alone. When I asked why she wasn't able to spend time inside in AC with her tech for even 5 minutes, I was told bc they had too many dogs. They asked me how I do things at home -it DOESN'T matter how I do things at home. I am paying you $150 to take good care of my dog. If we wanted her to stay in a kennel ALL WEEKEND long we would have kept her at home in her kennel and have a neighbor take her out and then put her back in the kennel. But that is not what we wanted, hence us paying you almost $150 to do better. It definitely seems like this place puts more stake in PROFIT then they do caring for the animals placed in their care. I DO NOT recommend this place for your pets and will never be going back. If you want a place to treat your dogs as if they are at home with you or even their own pets, this is not the place for that. My dog seemed very scared and uneasy coming out to our vehicle and was not herself on the way home. She was left alone long enough for her to chew through the cone she had on. When she got home she drank an entire bowl of water like she hadn't drank in days. They are not personable people at all and made me to feel my dog was just another dollar sign, but yet a burden at the same time. ***Response to your reply- You state that Ember had inside play with a tech one on one. That was not true at all. The male owner was asked by myself how much time my dog gets out of the kennel and why she wasn't able to be inside in the climate controlled space for even 5 minutes with a tech. His exact response was "do you see how many animals I have, it's too many to be able to do that". Once again, your response is just your justification for the way you treat the animals in your care. I completely regret choosing Preppy Pets as I thought it was a trust worthy spot who would take care of my dog, as your sign says "Pets stay your way", which was not the case at all.

Wouldn’t take the dog because he didn’t do well on the leash. He’s been there twice before with no issues and when I need them the most they wouldn’t watch him. You work with animals for a living and that’s the excuse you give.

I brought my 8 month old border collie/blk lab mix in for Doggy Daycare. We need to board her and I wanted her to have some previous experience with Preppy Pet of being there for a day. She loved it, she came home and was tired you could see but very very happy. She also gets groomed over there, she always comes home so fresh and clean, thank you so much Preppy Pet. I admit we were feeling some what hesitant about leaving her over night anywhere. She was a rescue and had a very hard time in the beginning of her time, so she has grown so attached to us. This is good for her, although she has been introduced to many dogs and people from day one with us. She is so excited every time she meets someone new whether it be a fur baby or a human. Thank you for being the right fit for her. We are all happy now. I definitely will treat her to play time with you more often. It was worthwhile to see my happy baby.

My husband and I took a tour yesterday with our 7 month old Goldendoodle. He is up to date on all vaccines, and we confirmed the dates of the vaccinations over the phone before coming to take the tour. The gentleman we spoke with said the dates were acceptable, and to please bring the paperwork with us. We thought we had all the current paperwork with us, but we were missing the final Bordetella Vaccination paperwork from our 16 week visit, where our dog got ALL his current shots. Our plan was to drop him off today at 7:30 am to start daycare 5 days a week. The lady who gave us the tour informed us (multiple times) that we could contact the vet today in the morning and have the vet send over all his current records, but that we COULD STILL drop off our dog in the morning with no issues.... Each of us asked the lady to confirm we could still drop off our dog without that last paperwork until it was sent, to ensure we did not misunderstand. When my husband dropped our dog off this morning, he was called within 10 minutes saying we have to come get the dog because he does not have his current paperwork. My husband had to leave work, and now needs to stay with the dog, since our daycare plan fell through. When my husband showed up, the same lady who gave us the tour was there, and insisted she did not say that at all and we must have misunderstood. Our vet was closed over the weekend and there would have been no way for us to get the correct paperwork until after 9 am this morning. We explained this to the lady and she said that would be fine. We are greatly upset at the lack of honesty from the woman who gave us this tour. We were looking forward to this beautiful facility for our dog. Unfortunately, her dishonesty both yesterday during our tour, and today when she denied our conversation from yesterday, has resulted in the loss of our business. Honesty is everything to us, and I would not let my dog stay somewhere after being lied to. *Regarding your comment, I understand and greatly appreciate the precautions taken. This is not a matter of us not understanding the rules. We knew we needed the updated paperwork, as I had stated to your staff. You TOLD us that we could have it sent the same morning we dropped off you dog, even though we said specifically that our dog would be arriving at 7:30 in the morning and we could not obtain the paperwork until at least 9 am the same morning. Our vet was closed on the weekend when we came, so we could not contact them and we disclosed that with your staff. Your staff then said it was okay to bring our dog at 7:30 am with the understanding the paperwork would follow later that day. She should have said "No, do not bring your dog until you have the paperwork."....That is NOT what happened. The fact that your staff is not taking any blame or consideration on your part is shameful. The issue lies with the fact that your staff said one thing, then did another, at the great inconvenience to my husband's work schedule. We are not impressed with your staff, therefore we are not impressed with your facility.

Preppy Pets is first class. Clean, friendly, and very reasonably priced. I try to let my dog go there a couple times a month to socialize and wear himself out enjoying himself with other dogs.

If I could give them 0 stars I would. Don't bother. My response to Preppy pet response which is completely inaccurate: We brought him in when he was approximately 9 months old and after getting him from at 6 months old. We had to make sure he was up to date with shots. (Responsible pet owner). He is nowhere near 200 lbs. Actually he is 130 last weighed. He is not pet or people aggressive. We brought him in once and the lady walked right up to him without introducing herself which any knowledge dog person would know to do and he barked at her. He calmed down once in a kennel with my other dog and he was fine the rest of the time. I was actually told by one of the ladies he was a sweetheart and her buddy. At the encouragement of the owner to bring him for daycare to help his socialization as he has never been around many dogs (those he has he has been fine with at my house) we made a reservation but after driving all the way there was told I couldn't take him there. My wife spoke with the owner and he apologized for the incident and said he was fine to board him so we recently made a reservation for him and my other dog and after driving all the way there was called as we are about to pull in that we couldn't take him. He has never done anything more than bark at anybody or anything. He was just at a park and barked at a couple people but they introduced themselves, sniffed their hand and was leaning in and loving on them. We actually have had private training with him and informed them of this to assist as a responsible pet owner would do. This place is horrible. My dog is far from mean and even with unsure about him with other dogs that is why I pay for private walks. You haven't even tried to go near him He stayed one time and was fine and we attempted to bring him back and was turned away before even trying. Nothing happened. He is not aggressive at all. The first time he was there was his first time ever at a kennel and there was a lot going on. He has been to feed stores, vet, parks and has never been aggressive to anyone. Has never harmed any animal or person. The lack of basic dog knowledge and professionalism is overwhelming by the staff. Especially when told by the owner (Tony) to bring him in several times but to be turned away after driving all the way there. There is no way I would ever recommend this place.
