Excellent service! Cared for my fur baby as if she was their own. She had some stressful treatments to do and they were so loving that my pup was excited to go, even though she knew it wouldn’t be pleasant.

Very clean. Professional staff.

After 13.5 years of bringing our sweet Harley to this vet, they were beyond wonderful when it mattered the most. We had to make the devastating decision to put our pup down after a long, fantastic life and the techs could not have been any sweeter. They let us sit with her as long as we needed, explained everything that would be done to keep her comfortable, allowed us to say our goodbyes as many times as needed, and showed true emotion as we grieved. All of this as they were ending their day but permitted us to still come in rather than let her suffer another night. I could not be more grateful for their kindness and the sympathy note mailed home a few days letter was just beautiful.

I’m guessing this place is all about business because I’m at $800 and two weeks in of trying to care for my dog and they still don’t know what’s going on I wish they were like Dr. Jeff on animal planet oh well it is what it is don’t have many choices in Lakeland

This place only cares about upselling, they do a great job at pretending to care but once they learn you’re on a small budget they immediately drop their act. After having my cat put down and me telling them I don’t wish to have my cat cremated cause of $$ they called two hours after the ordeal to ask me one last time. They couldn’t help themselves but try and get one last sale. Lol pathetic. What a sad excuse for a veterinarian office.

The staff and doctors are professional and kind, they also know their craft. Thank you for taking care of Bo and going out of your way to treat him like he is your own. Many Blessings.

Cleveland Heights Animal Hospital is the standard by which I judge all other veterinary facilities. The founder, Tom Houghton was a schoolmate and friend for years and he grounded his hospital in the principles of caring, expert care. His wife, and now his son carried on that legacy in a way that would make Tom proud. Even after I left Lakeland I drove hours to have them treat my dogs when they had difficult medical issues that I did not trust to my local vets. If you live in Polk County, this is the only veterinary hospital I would use.

My girlfriend has been taking her dogs to this clinic for years. When we first met I was a little bit taken back by how much she had to pay for her veterinary Care. One of her dogs recently started to display signs of some type of illness. He was roughly 12 years old. So my girlfriend took Buster to the clinic to see what kind of care he would need. The doctor , without so much as looking at Buster, told my girlfriend that buster was just old and he would need some medication. The bill was over $300. After a week of care and heavy medication busters health did not improve so I encouraged her to see another doctor which she did. This doctor the early examine Buster and determine that buster had a few major health issues including dementia and a tumor behind his left eye. Buster was dying and suffering. He gave Buster a sedative to calm him and shortly thereafter Buster was euthanized. This doctor and his staff went out of their way to accommodate my girlfriend and her son and were as kind and compassionate as you can imagine. Her total bill was $100. The $100 was a total bill which included Buster's ashes. I felt so sorry for my girlfriend because she discovered that Cleveland heights had raked her over the coals for 15 years with these dogs and was not always treated ,at least by one doctor, in a dignified manner. They were always trying to upsell. Always attempting to take advantage of my girlfriend's sweetheart and her love for her dogs. Shame on you Cleveland heights. You suck. By the way please look to Animal Medical Clinic on Cleveland Heights Boulevard. These doctors and veterinary techs are compassionate professional and fair regards to pricing

They try their best to make as much money as possible out of you. I prefer somewhere that simply loves animals. They give you an itemized list of everything they recommend. People love their pets, so I assume this scandal gets most to pay for it all. Versus what is simply needed. It’s be nice to just focus on the issue you made the appointment for. They are simply out to make money. Go somewhere else.

I have personally used this animal hospital for around 10 years now for two different dogs. They have always provided excellent and consistent service when needed, and their staff are very reliable, friendly and knowledgable. If you are searching for a safe animal hospital to take your pet to, this is definitely the one.

Our cat stayed here before and all was fine.This time they wouldnt return phone calls or messages.I even wrote their email.Zero response is pretty pathetic for customer service.Never again.

We recently had our Chiweenie in for foreign body surgery and our lab in for a diagnosis and referral for knee pain. We have 4 dogs that have all been with Cleveland Heights since the beginning and all were started on their "puppy plans." (Their puppy plans are a FANTASTIC deal!!) April has been with Cleveland Heights for many years and is the office manager and is always the sincerely caring and compassionate animal lover who moves mountains to help her furry patients. She is always reassuring and helpful when I am in a panic about our fur babies. Dr. Houghton shoots straight, is incredibly educated and knowledgeable and ALWAYS tells it like it is. He is honest, kind, and genuinely cares about people, always doing his job professionally at a very high standard, and he LOVES animals. Cleveland Heights Animal Hospital has been our "go to" for our pets since we moved to the southside of Lakeland in 2010 and we don't know what we would do without them. We cannot say enough about April, the office manager, and Dr. Houghton. When animals are in pain, they are calm, reliable superheroes for furry family members.

The staff and vets are always kind and compassionate. They go above and beyond in care for all my pets and always take the time to listen to my concerns. We have had nothing but positive experiences even during the most challenging visits.

After 30 years as a customer, I will be transferring my pets to another veterinary clinic. The office manager, April, was not interested in accommodating my pet's needs this year, when it was not a problem last year. My cat requires light sedation during her wellness checkups and this year they were not willing to see her on Saturday during a normal visit. Instead, they wanted us to drop her off in the morning and pick her up later in the afternoon, with various excuses given.

This has been the best vet I’ve been too. Everyone was very nice and explained everything that was going on with my dog and best steps to take. Prices were very reasonable. I would definitely recommend this place!

We’ve made multiple trips here with our pups for checkups and emergency purposes. We have seen Houghton, Robinson, Washburn, they’ve all been great. All the techs are really sweet and great with my dogs making them feel comfortable as well as putting my mind at ease.

We have been taking our pets to Cleveland Heights now for ten years, and, aside from their being somewhat pricey, they do provide excellent care; always with good advice.

I brought my kittens here at 9 weeks old and I was provided with excellent care. We received care for my babies for the next 6 months including being spayed. When I called for an emergency they were not caring, would not fit my babies in, lethargic and not eating, vomiting. Rachel could have cared less, too much for my doctor today was what I was told. Left me on my own to find help. Crying when I hung up my phone. I thought when your babies are patients there, they would help, absolutely no help for mine. Would absolutely not recommend this uncaring place when you need help, I got no help for my dear ones.

Doctor Langford and Doctor H. Are the best , I would never take my children to any other hospital or these 2 doctors ever , very compassionate and caring and thoughtful. I recommend to ask for these 2 specifically, scooby says thank you …

The Dr’s here are so great!! On Friday night I was in an emergency clinic with my chihuahua, Maximus. Thought it was tummy issues - they gave him pain meds and doggie gas x and sent him home. X rays were mentioned if “I” wanted to, but not encouraged at this time, so I said no. Pain meds wore off and my boy was still hurting. Dr Washburn was my go to on the phone, wasn’t convinced it was just an upset tummy and encouraged me to bring him in. We got to meet Dr. Robinson on Sunday and she was fantastic!! She took the time to thoroughly check him out and was beyond patient with Maximus and me! Took a urine sample and strongly encouraged x rays... found out Maximus had a UTI & prostate infection. We’re a week out and he’s doing so much better!! We go back in a week for him to be neutered and I’m confident my little boy is in great hands with the Dr’s here! Best part is, they’re open 7 days a week... so the chances of needing an “emergency/over priced” visit is pretty slim! I will gladly make the hour drive to make this our regular home for veterinary needs!

They go above and beyond to help me keep my large pack of dogs well, healthy and vaccinated. The knowledge staff and vets have always been there for me to help guide me through a myriad of health issues, ensuring that my pets always receive top quality care. They have also always been at my side when very sad days occur, making sure the end of life process is handled with love and dignity. I always recommend this veterinary clinic to my friends.
