All ABOUT THE $$$...... We found an injured kitten accidentally while on vacation 1.5 miles from this veterinary hospital, brought the animal to them they would not even look at the animal for free, they did come out to the car and gave us financial options even after I explained thoroughly we just found the animal on the side of a crossroad And we gave them the exact location where the animal was found and REMINDED THEM we were not from here. I'm a former veterinary technician myself and current ICU nurse and was very disappointed that the veterinarian would not look at this injured animal for free, I offered to pay $75 for a full body one shot x-ray but they said they could not just do that they would have to squeeze us in as an emergency visit and I think the fee was somewhere in $160s, The girl did clarify this would not include any medications the animal needed. They recommended I call animal control, well if you know anything about rescue and I do rescue up in the Carolinas animal control would take this approx 8wk old kitten and euthanize it....TO OUR RESCUE... WE WERE ABLE TO GET IN TOUCH WITH MARATHON ANIMAL HOSPITAL AND THEY WERE QUITE THE OPPOSITE IT'S ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL TOOK IN THE KITTEN THE VERY NEXT MORNING ALREADY HAD IT SET UP WITH A FOSTER PROGRAM AND ALLOWED US TO CALL BACK AND CHECK ON THE KITTEN COSTING US NO MONEY AND THIS KITTEN WILL HAVE A HAPPY FOREVER HOME AND HAD INJURIES THAT ARE MANAGEABLE.

I brought our Teddy there for his rabies shot. It was quick and the staff was nice

My dogs have been "clients" of Dr Martha and her team for decades. Why, you ask - because of the caring, attentive nature of the services, from admin to surgeon and every step in between.

We were visiting the keys & needed to board our dog for a trip. They were wonderful & made it a little easier to leave him knowing he was in such good hands.

Best front desk and customer service! Stuff is very friendly and professional. Doctor Martha is wonderful! Always with follow up calls and reminders about next appts. Since I came with my kitten Money (June 2021)they opened account on the app and even took a picture of my kitten as it’s for passport. Very nice! Thanks everybody from that amazing team!

Island Hammock Pet Hospital is one of the best vets office anywhere!! They are kind, compassionate, professional, cleanly and an all round wonderful group of people. We always feel safe taking our fur babies to them!

I scheduled my pet's yearly vaccinations and check up here. They told me to fast my dog for his blood work. When we took him in, having had him fast, they told me that they couldn't do the blood work because he fasted. It took 3 more phone calls with the office to sort this out. They then charged me an extra $324 just for the blood work. I will not be bringing my dog back. They do not know how to communicate and are way too expensive.

It is an absolute pleasure to bring our dogs to Island Hammock. They are kind and caring and extremely professional. We (and our puppies) love Dr. Marta Pawluk! We highly recommend them.

Had an emergency with our 5 year old pup that had injested something potentially life threatening and we were in town visiting family and it was a weekend. The staff and doctor at Island Hammock were fantastic. They took care of our fur baby, kept us aprised, explained everything to us, and answered all our questions. Thank you!

After a year I have finally decided it was time to leave a review. February of 2020, I took my 9 year old Maltese to Island Hammock because I realized she was gaining weight & lost her eyesight very quick. Keep in mind, I have been taking her to this vet since they opened so they know her. After about $400 in tests they told me everything was fine, however her enzymes in her liver were a little high BUT NOTHING TO BE WORRIED about. At the end of May, 3 months later, my dog dropped in a seizure as I was alone recovering from a surgery. I rushed her to the hospital at about 7 pm for them to tell me she is dying from a severe liver disease that nothing could be done to save her. I look back & wish I could’ve gotten a second opinion but I had so much trust in Island Hammock as I have taken both of my dogs there for many years now.

Staff was very professional, friendly and courteous. They had their operation under control with curbside drop off of your pet. Dr took her time to explain to me the care of my pet and what I needed to do on a continuing basis.

I recently switched to this vet clinic and I am SO happy with everything. They care so much about the animals and make sure they’re doing everything they can to make them feel comfortable (especially since we can’t go in with them right now). One of my dogs that has separation anxiety and never did good at the vet, and she did AWESOME with them. It made me so happy. Bottom line, they care. And you need that in a vet clinic! 100% recommend bringing your pets here!

All staff was very caring and did a follow up call to check on my doggie. It’s comforting to know that they are they are there to help. We have lived all around the country and taken our dogs to many vet clinics, but this one has to be the best one we have ever been to. First of all, despite the media coverage that Florida doesn't take COVID seriously, this clinic does an amazing job with COVID precautions. They come out to pick up/drop off your pets and handle everything via phone - including the vet calling to explain everything. Super convenient and very safe. Dr. Pawluk should be a model case study for vet and medical students in excellent bedside manners. She patiently walks through the review of your pet's medical visit, explaining everything in depth in a way a non-science/medical person can easily understand. I trust both my little one's health in her and the staff's hands.

Island Hammock Pet Hospital is fantastic! They were so helpful when our pet became ill during the quarantine. The curbside dropoff/pickup process was well organized and the Vet and staff answered all of our questions - Very informative and thorough. Our pet is feeling much better!!!

We came here based on a recommendation from 2 friends. We are planning to cruise in our boat to the Bahamas for a year or so. We needed cat permits. The vets here were so kind to us and our pets. They understood what needed to be filled out forb paperwork for the cats to get in the country. Highly recommend.

I am very impressed with IHPH. The vet (Dr. Marta Pawluk) and her assistant took their time with Bogie and thoroughly checked him over. They were very good with him and we came up with a plan for his recovery. The low price for the service was a complete surprise. What a great animal hospital!!!

Made 3 calls 1st. @ 9:30 am & gave 5 hours warning that I had to pick up my pet early, please have ready! Made 2nd call 11:00 am & was told our pet was ready !! Got there @ 2:00 pm & my pet was not ready ! Had to wait 30 mins. while they rushed to bath him! This is the 2nd time it happened .. the 1st time .. they just didn’t bath my pet & apologized .. just like the last time.

These angels very literally helped me rescue my family’s dog who was stranded in key largo and I’m all the way in Massachusetts. I called them with a wild situation desperately needing help and they went above and beyond to not only help rescue my pup but took such amazing care of her physically and mentally/emotionally. I’m forever grateful for these kind and amazing people. If this place is local to you, consider yourself lucky! I would love to have these amazing folks as my Local vet. 5 stars isn’t enough they need 100!
