That was the worst vet experience I have ever had. First, no personable behaviors or communication from the doctor at all. Second, immediately took him to weigh him and started pulling as hard as a could. Then, put a choke leash on him and choked him twice to where his collar snapped twice. Then, my dog ran away from them, I took the leash off him and the muzzle, which I approved, to let him breath. He was out of breath from all the stress and force that was placed upon him. After all this happened, the doctor said that this was not working and told us to leave. Not to mention that we’re not trying to help him or calm him down in any way, shape or form, nor did they take any of the suggestions or comments I shared with them. Overall, I will never recommend or ever go back there. Terrible experience.

I love this office! This is our 4th year and they are always very professional and they take wonderful care of my sweet baby kitten. The doctor said he is so well behaved. They also take care credit, which is a plus for larger bills.

They always take such amazing care of our chonky boy, Cletus. We actually moved further away and tried a few vets closer to our new home, but we've learned that Lakewood is 100% worth the drive.

My doggies love Lakewood Animal Clinic. They treat my baby monster, 105 lbs American Staforshire like a prince! And my resue pitty mix like a princess! We have been taking our dogs to Lakewood since 2018. Our dogs loved the staff and doctor as did we. I never understood the bad reviews left until today. Since taking our dogs last year, we were charged over $100 more than usual for a visit today. No receipt was given of the services received today and they took our dog to the back to where we couldn’t even see what was being done. I asked several times today for records to see what I was being charged over $200 for and never received the records after asking multiple times.

Happy one year anniversary! It took along time to care if you would take us down. We are nice people. We loved our dog so much. This memory is one of the worst in my life.

I walked-in with a kitty that we had found in an engine, and the sweet people at Lakewood jumped into action to help me with him! I didn't have an appointment, but they helped me and the kitty "Chief" anyway! You guys really saved the day!! We will see you in a few weeks for a check up!

Dr. Sandler has been taking care of my dogs for many years. I’ve tried other vets, and he’s by far the best. He’s the only vet whose plan succeeded in helping my first dog lose weight, and just last week, and in one visit, he diagnosed and cured my new dog of her painful gastrointestinal problems. Moreover, after I board my dog with him, my dog comes away happy. I have the utmost respect for Dr. Sandler (and his team), and I recommend him to anyone who asks me if I know a good vet.

On my first visit they treated me and my kitten as if we were old friends. My kitten was extremely difficult, yet the staff and doctor remained calm and took control of her temper and issues with ease and care. I'll be taking my Rella there for years to come. Oh, and their boarding area for cat's is also great.

Dr. Sandler and his staff are the greatest people you will ever meet, I went in there with my sick Chihuahua on January 5, 2021 and I was a wreck. My dog was seen by Dr. Sandler The very day I called. When I went there I was treated with the utmost respect and You can tell that they really were concerned about my dog Nolla. I could go on and on about what a great doctor he is, but everybody will have to see on their own. He save my dogs life, I knew in 12 hours what was wrong with my dog. She was seen by another office but I wasn’t comfortable with there Diagnosis. I am just glad I met Dr. Sandler my sister takes her dog there and swears by him. Now I got to see first hand what a Great Doctor he really is.. I would recommend anyone who is looking for a good Veterinarian,Dr.Craig Sandler is the best.And his staff is amazing..I just want to say THANK YOU for everything you have done to make sure that my baby was better. I will be back that’s for sure..

I have been to a few different animal clinics in the past and have been swindled and talked down to in nearly every one! High pressure sales approaches along with gimmicky programs just rubs me the wrong way and I wanna walk. This place is nothing like that! The staff is really friendly and genuinely like and care for animals. You can have conversations and talk about what is actually needed versus what’s nice to have and no one is treating you like a five year old for making your informed choice. When I need medication, I can call and talk about it without always having to schedule an appointment. I can walk in and weigh my pup and get his trifexis on the spot. Two thumbs up and a customer for life if they keep it going!

Thank you for being there for my husband and his long time friend of 15 years. It was hard to let him go, but we could not allow him to suffer any longer. The staff and doctor were wonderful. Thank you again for helping during this difficult time.

We had both of our senior dogs fall ill within just a few short weeks of each other. The staff was always professional and would allows us to come in on just a few hours short notice. Unfortunately, one of our dogs was too elderly and too ill to be saved and she passed away in my arms at home. The doctor was honest in preparing us for her guarded prognosis but at the same time made sure to make every effort to save her. RIP our sweet Ruby.

I have had feline friends for 30 years and lived in different states, and I can honestly say the Lakewood Animal Clinic is the best! Dr. Sandler is thorough, yet practical. He has actively researched the best medicines to treat complicated issues, and he is the best animal surgeon. The staff is friendly and animal focused, so I never worry about boarding – I know my cats are getting the best possible care. Lakewood delivers quality care for pets – I will never go anywhere else!

Dr Sandler saved my Australian Shepherds life by doing a first exam and sending us straight to an emergency vet clinic where he had emergency surgery! Since that visit I have brought my other dog and cats to him. Very professional staff, safe and clean following safe COVID protocols. I recommend to everyone!

I've probably only met Dr. Sandler twice, but both times he seemed kind and my dogs really like him. Once I called after hours with an emergency and he called me back three minutes later to help and calm me down. I usually drop my dogs off early before work and pick them up after which is why I never see him, but his staff is extremely friendly. They're also all named Ashley so it's easy to remember. Lakewood does boarding as well and I also recommend that. Both of my dogs have been going here for about two years I think. I've never had a bad experience.

Compassion, understanding took our old lab there when he was struggling to move around. After the visit he was back to his old self. Unfortunately the next day he bit my wife in the face. The dog had a history of bitting me ( 2 x in my face earlier this year) but never her. Anyway still giving us both love. So anyway a week later bit her again in the face. She was afraid to get near him anymore and had to be put down. Please understand that this dog for 15 years was spoiled very loving animal. In summary they were outstanding and wanted to say thank you so much.

Overpriced and incompetent staff. Make sure to get prices up front and expect hidden charges when you get ready to pay. $81.50 for rabies shot (after they gave me a discount because I complained) they were going to charge over $100. Staff could not even trim nails.....so this was never done.

It's fine, they watched over my dogs while I lived in Jax.

Dr. Sandler and his staff are always wonderful to us. And if we have an emergency or a trapped feral who needs care, they always work us in.

We have been taking our dogs here for over 10 years now, and the staff is always very friendly and helpful. It is clear that everyone here really cares about the health and wellbeing of the animals they see. Dr. Sandler is not only knowledgeable and caring, but he also does a great job of communicating with patients, giving them information that is easily digestible about how to care for their pet.

We rescued a dog in April who tested positive for heart worms. After paying over $1000 for treatments and stays she died November 1st. Do NOT take your fur babies here. PLEASE!

Very friendly staff! Dr. would listen and complete requested exams, but as a pet owner and paying top $ for services, I would have liked to feel a little more compassion and not as rushed! I would recommend using there services! Very clean and friendly. A bit expensive but overall with it
