Birch Island Veterinary Center Jacksonville, Florida

We used their boarding service for 14 days over Christmas and New Year. We were so pleased when we picked up our 16 year old cat Peach. She requires 2 different medications twice a day. She was happy, showed no signs of stress and was clean. All signs that she was well taken care. We highly recommend Birch Island Vet Center and plan on using them again. Thank you to the Staff of Birch Island.

This is a very long overdue review. Stormy and Glenn have been going to Birch for awhile now! We love Dr. Dee. They have been to daycare on multiple occasions, and it’s always a good experience. They see Brandi for grooming, and she does a wonderful job every single time. Glenn and Stormy love all of the staff there. Any time I needed to get in for any urgent visits, they have always acted fast and got them in right away. I don’t know what we would do without Dr. Dee or the staff! When we first came to Birch from a previous veterinarian office, Dr. Dee was able to find out quickly what was wrong with my husky Glenn regarding his GI issues. Prior, we had a lot of testing and no one could figure out what was wrong but Dr. Dee did!! She also helped us figure out what was going on with my other husky Stormy. (allergies) We love how upfront Dr. Dee is. She is always honest and truly cares about your animals. The office has always been upfront about any cost as well before doing anything. I honestly cannot say enough about them! I will never trust anyone else with my dogs care. Glenn and Stormy love you guys!!!

Best practice of any medical field I have ever been to. They took such great care of Zeus and, me in such a difficult time. My pup wouldn’t be here without Dr. Gavron and the whole birch island team! 5 stars isn’t enough.

Awesome veterinarians! Building is gorgeous and if I could I would rent a run to stay in ..totally exceeded my expectations of a place to leave my pets!

I love Dr. Dee and all of her staff. They are caring, friendly and take exceptional care of my fur baby. The first time I took him there he received the most thorough exam he had ever had. Awesome facility for day care and boarding as well. Immaculately clean and well-staffed for supervision.

We are always so happy with the Staff and Doctors at Birch Island .We took Chloe for a bath. They called Dr. Garvon to check her ears. She had an infection which we are now treating. We are so impressed with the team effort! Chloe loves them too! We would definitely recommend!

Birch island certainly has quality in spades. My pups, Zelda (5 y) and Kirby (12 w), have tested out almost all services (veterinary, grooming, and boarding) and have been nothing but impressed each time in their professionalism and caring attitudes. Today I had a unique, unforgettable experience at Birch Island. As I was entering the vet dog entrance with Kirby in one arm and Zelda’s leash in the other, Zelda decided she was going to back out of her collar and take off running in to the parking lot and towards Philips highway. One of the front office staff quickly grabbed Kirby for me so I could take off after Zelda. I quickly realized I was aided in my pursuit by several techs, groomers, and other staff. I was amazed at these lovely people sprinting around in the heat to help catch my girl. Luckily, I finally was able to grab her by the super cute bandana she got from being groomed this same morning. The same groomer that did her mini makeover her this morning helped me carry her in to the building. I am so, so utterly grateful to the staff for helping me get her back, get her settled down during the appointment, and for caring for my puppy while this event occurred. I could never thank them enough. If you want a place that would drop everything to help you and your pup, this is the place. I bring all three of my kittens here. Dr. Gavron is their doctor and she is terrific. The techs are very knowledgeable and the office is super clean. Jessica at the front desk is wonderful! The atmosphere is so calm and welcoming. Thank you for all you do!

We switched to Birch Island Vet for our two kitties because the previous vet seemed very uncaring and inattentive…we were just a number. Birch Island has been a breath of fresh air. They truly care about your fur babies! One of our kitties has multiple issues that has caused him to be poked, prodded, x-rayed, you name it…..for several years now, and so he is NOT a happy kitty at the vet! It’s always a worry for me because nobody wants to “deal” with him. He’s just so fearful that he is very angry and let’s everyone know! Dr. Pallozzi and the Birch Island staff were patient with him and took extra care with him. I can’t tell you how much that means to me!!! He’s the sweetest kitty at home, and I wish they could see that side of him, but even tho they don’t get to see that side - they treat him with love and lots of patience. Everyone there is very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend Birch Island Vet!!!

I love the fact that this is an animal hospital and also daycare, so when there is something wrong with my pet, the vet is just a few steps away. When I took a tour to look at the place , it smelled clean and looked very clean. My dog(Sally) has been going to the daycare for a few months already Monday-Friday while I am at work and she loves it. The staffs here are so friendly and have passion for pets.....Leila, Kimberly, Monica and many more staffs in the back that I don't know their names. My dogs seemed to spend the right amount of energy throughout the day here. The only thing I wasn't sure is the limit of the pool access. My dog loves pool, but it wouldn't be an ideal to let the dogs go in everyday since it could cause the skin problem in general. Overall this daycare is a must go!!

LOVE this office and staff! I won’t take my bulldog anywhere else. The whole staff is so attentive, thorough, and sweet! The office is pristine and always accommodating for appointments. If you’re looking for a great vet, definitely consider them!

The kitten I adopted came home with tapeworms and they still charged $20 for one tablet of medication which probably costs $3. It's fine if it accidentally got tapeworm after being around other animals but they should've taken care of it, but instead proceeded to overcharge for medicine. As to the reply, regardless of what is done beforehand and whether you can control the tapeworm or not, the cat we adopted was sent home with tapeworms, and I think it should've been done right by either covering the cost or charging a reasonable price for the medicine, which yes costs $3 for the exact medicine if I were to get it online.

The best facility and staff. I have used them for boarding and as a vet and extremely impressed by both.

This new facility is great! The staff is super patient especially with dealing with my nervous dog. He had and emergency and they were able to take us in immediately. They also have a great boarding a day care facility that we were able to tour.

I cannot begin to express how fabulous the professionals at Birch Island Vet Center were to my pet and family today. Swift service in getting us a same-day appointment to address our concerns. We have a very “spicy” temperament dog and have always struggled with her being successful getting through a vet visit. Today was phenomenal. She was able to successfully get her shots, get the medical treatment she needed, and there was no stress. Very thorough explanations were provided and helpful next steps. I appreciate them so much and we will definitely go back in the future! Would recommend to anyone and everyone.

Professional, timely, clean, and all the staff genuinely cares about their patients. Dr. Gavron gave a list of diagnoses she thought may be going on with my pet, confirmed and ruled out diagnoses which has not happened to me at other vets. …

Great team care for pets

I can’t say enough wonderful things about this place. From the staff, to the clean office, to my boy snoring from chasing tennis balls all day. BIV takes amazing care of my dog and is so flexible with our schedule. I won’t take him anywhere else!

What a wonderful place to take you fur baby!

My first time here was Tuesday. I scheduled a grooming for our dog, but when I got in the receptionist said I was not on the schedule. At first I was really upset, but the groomer Diana said she would still groom my dog since I was there. She was very sweet and very apologetic. She did say that the appointment was going to take longer than usual but I was just happy I didn't drive there for nothing. My girl looked and smelled wonderful. Will definitely be back. Diana gave me her Instagram info and said to feel free to message her with any questions or booking concerns so this doesn't happen. In the future. BAd experience turned great. Thank you!
