Northwood Oaks Veterinary Hospital Gainesville, Florida

I moved away two years ago, however, when I lived in Gainesville this was my vet clinic. They have the best staff and the vets were so wonderful. I felt like they really listened to me and gave great advice on getting my kitties healthy. I love how Northwood Oaks vet clinic and thr Oaks vet clinic work together. She came in handy for boarding my cats sometimes.

If you don't care to meet your vet or sit with your pet during treatment then this is your kind of vet.

Dr. Sturgeon is a great addition to this already wonderful veterinary team. When he joined the practice a year ago, he was instrumental in saving one of our dog's lives after a potentially fatal ingestion. In the year since then, Dr. Sturgeon has continued to stay on top of Boomerang's care and well-being. Being knowledgeable about fear aggression has also made him wonderful with our other dog, Penelope, who is typically very "prickly". He was able to successfully give her a dental cleaning, full workup, and clean bill of health, whereas previous practices have fallen short. His post-visit phone calls and follow-ups are well-informed and understanding. We can't imagine going anywhere else!!

When my dog was seen, I bought a 1 month treatment of Nexgard and Heartgard because I needed them quickly. They pushed several times to buy 6 months worth of Nexgard and Heartgard at the time but I declined saying that I'd like to compare prices online. Prices online were of course way cheaper and had free delivery so I ordered them. The company (Chewy) needed a vet that had seen my dog to sign the RX and fax it back. THEY REFUSED! They basically told the Chewy Representative that they won't do it and that I should just come in and pick it up from them (Northwood Oaks) at a higher cost to me. Greedy, Petty, and Unprofessional. The minor things such as bath, nail trimming, ear cleaning were fine.

I absolutely recommend Northwood Oaks!!! My Rottweiler which is my baby!!! Was urinating blood. When I called my usual vet Shores they couldn’t see her until Monday!!!! ???????? I couldn’t let my baby go until Monday so I called Northwood Oaks and they got us in immediately!! As soon as we arrived the technicians came out took Maddie in and within less than 30 minutes they determined she had a UTI. The doctor and his technicians from the initial call to the end was fabulous I felt so taken care of and they cared enough to get us in last minute. If you are looking for an absolute amazing veterinarian as well as outstanding service this is your vet!!!

Excellent service and friendly staff with obvious focus and priority on my pet's wellbeing. Dr. Wallace and staff always take time to speak to us after appointments to go over everything and addresses all my issues, even small questions or concerns about random spots or behaviors. All medications have been effective and reasonably priced with all potential side effects clearly outlined before purchase. My dog loves it here too, and loses her mind with excitement when she realizes where we are headed. They also follow strict procedures for covid safety, showing respect for both their staff and patrons. Absolutely recommend.

Absolutely excellent care and customer experience. They worked with me to arrange an urgent visit on a Friday evening and provided incredible patience and superb customer service during the visit. I was thoroughly impressed by the follow-up phone call the next week, just to check in. Great staff and vet care! I would whole-heartedly recommend to anyone in the Gainesville area.

The young lady I talked to over the phone was extremely unprofessional. I'm not sure why she felt the need to be so disrespectful, but the way she handled my call was very offensive. People should be able to call in and ask simple questions and get simple answers, not an attitude from the person who's supposed to be helpful. Keep in mind, this experience was prior to the Covid outbreak, so there's no excuse for the way she's treating customers :/ Just based on this experience alone, I cannot recommend this specific office to anyone. Go to a different one.

Called to get information on a first appointment, asked some general questions. The woman I spoke with was very rude, and proceeded to go off on me for calling her out on it. I was so shocked I had to hang up on her. Just based on this phone call, I will definitely not be taking my pets here.

Great facility and staff! Always willing to help my pet as soon as possible when I call with a health issue. They listen and communicate the best if any Vet I've ever visited through the years. Thank you, Northwood Oaks Vet Clinic!

Felt like used car dealership of vets. Pushing for everything thay can charge you for. Got my dogs glands expressed and she stunk to all heck, didnt clean her up after her glands. Took her to the groomer who let me back and watched the groomer express her still full glands. I paid this vet for a service that wasnt done. Never going back. Do not recommend.

Exceptional vet office! The staff is always friendly and helpful, and the veterinarians are the best there is. Dr. Jennifer is the most knowledgeable vet I have brought any pet to, and I trust her implicitly with my pets. All other vet offices pale in comparison to Northwood Oaks.

Hands down Dr. Kicera and the whole teamare the best office on this side of town and maybe the best in Gainesville. Humane, patient, knowledgeable, understanding, and genuine. You will not regret coming here, not to mention it’s a real value as far as the vet’s office is concerned. Customers for life, my fiancé and me and our four cats and our dog.

They took great care of my Prince kitty when I went on vacation. Awesome care. All the staff genuinely care about your fur babies. Check ups and injections went well and affordable. Will continue here with all my pet needs.
